grapau27 Posted December 18, 2022 #6 Share Posted December 18, 2022 (edited) Good morning. We have had a lovely church service today. It was 3 years today when I had my heart attack. I get my stitches out from my facial skin cancer removal tomorrow. Thank you for today's daily reports Rich. Chag Sameach (Happy Hanukkah) for all our friends who celebrate it. Interesting quote. Paulines favourite cousin emigrated to Adelaide Australia 17 years ago. Prayers 🙏 for everyone on Roy's care list. Take care. Graham. Rare puppycanducruise Posted December 18, 2022 #7 Share Posted December 18, 2022 Good morning and thanks for the Daily and Fleet Report. Happy Hanukkah! We've got more snow, so I guess I'll stay in and bake cookies. Hooray for twins! Not sure what kind of flakes to appreciate - snowflakes, cornflakes or special people like Redneck Bob.😁 Love the quote. The meal sounds good, so does the drink and wine. Prayers for everyone. I hope there are lots of celebrations. Have a wonderful day. Stay safe. 22
cat shepard Posted December 18, 2022 #8 Share Posted December 18, 2022 (edited) Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate! Thank you for today’s Report & Daily Rich! A bit warmer today. And it is just starting to get light out here. Roy, thank you for keeping our lists! Gym, Aldi, Bindi walks and chores. This evening we’ll visit the Daytona Speedway to drive through the light show. Every year gets better and better. Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers to all who are celebrating! Get well & stay well everyone! ********** Fox Run 2019 Doyle Family Chardonnay (Seneca Lake) Finger Lakes This Chardonnay sounds lovely - though the review does mention “buttery”, and it has very good - excellent reviews from consumers and critics. Available from several online distributors with prices starting at $13.99. Distributor notes With every vintage it becomes clearer that New York's Finger Lakes region wines are world class. Fox Run Vineyards is truly a family owned and operated business. If you’ve ever been to Fox Run, you’ve probably met at least one family member. It’s not unusual to find Scott pouring wine behind the tasting bar or Ruth helping take orders in the café. Scott and Ruth’s daughter, Jessica Worden, is the office manager and behind-the-scenes virtuoso.Their vineyards on the banks of Seneca lake are all dry farmed and are Lake Friendly Farmer certified. In 2015, they installed 150-KW solar panels and the entire business has operated on 100% self-generated solar power ever since.Estate grown grapes for this Reserve Chard were sourced from Fox Run Vineyard block 1 - Kaiser Vineyard overlooking Seneca lake. After crushing and pressing the grapes, the winemaker transferred the juice to barrels where it fermented for 27 days. But the real allure of this wine was that it was left on yeast lees for a full eight months after fermentation adding a creamy textural component to the wine.In 2019 September was the warmest and driest in recent history. The grapes responded accordingly, producing some of the tastiest wine imaginable.James Suckling scored this 90 points saying "Lemon, apricot, yoghurt, praline and flint on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with tangy acidity and a creamy texture. Buttery, lemony and tangy. Drink now." Mr. Boston Posted December 18, 2022 #9 Share Posted December 18, 2022 Good morning everyone. Thanks for the daily report. It’s a good day to bake cookies. I will appreciate any and all snowflakes that fall from the sky today. Hats off to all of you twins out there. I really like today’s quote. Since I don’t own an air fryer the meal suggestion is off the table. We’re joining friends for dinner in Harvard Square after a Christmas concert there so we won’t need to prepare dinner today. I haven’t been to today’s port. Prayers for everyone on our prayer list. Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events todat!

Today is Gerry and all bakers day, Sandi and her twin day, and not to forget our favorite flake... Red Neck Bob. God's Blessings and my prayers for healing. We had a fun time last evening. Met up for evening trivia, listened to the violin players, Rock and Roll was fun tonight, then back to listen to our last of the music in Lincoln Center. It was dressy night. Rare Crazy For Cats Posted December 18, 2022 #13 Share Posted December 18, 2022 Good Morning Everyone, thanks for the daily fleet report. Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate the holiday. I like today's meal suggestion, we will have ham with sweet potatoes instead. One of yesterday's errands was a stop at a cat rescue that sells catnip toys and matts. They were a hit when I got home. kochleffel Posted December 18, 2022 #18 Share Posted December 18, 2022 I was going to say that cookies should definitely be baked, but yesterday I saw an article about recipes for unbaked cookies. All of them seemed to involve peanut butter or almond butter, iow, they were all rather similar. One of my favorite types of cookie, bourbon balls or rum balls, is unbaked, but made with crumbs of vanilla wafers or graham crackers, which have already been baked. Twins run in my family but not in my direct line. Former Sen. Jeff Flake said once that everyone in his hometown (Snowflake, Ariz.) was a Flake--they were all related--but he was in college before he learned that it sounded odd to say that. Air-fryer meatballs don't sound quite right to me. I'd prefer the sirloin from Roy's alternative menu. Dinner tonight will actually be chicken baked in a sauce, potato latkes with applesauce, roasted carrots, and green salad, with sufganiot (Israeli-style jelly doughnuts, the filling inserted through the top so that a dot of color shows) after the concert. My only role in the cooking was to transfer the dinner rolls from the freezer to pans in the refrigerator so that they can be baked this morning. Fox Run Vineyards is in my region, but I've never visited there. The postal address is Penn Yan, which is the home of Birkett Mills, the largest packer of buckwheat in the U.S., in business since 1797. Buckwheat is a traditional New York crop, introduced by Dutch settlers. 16 1

ger_77 Posted December 18, 2022 #22 Share Posted December 18, 2022 Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily! Happy Hanukkah to all my Daily friends who celebrate this special time of year!! I'm going to run out and get another roll (or two) of cookie dough to bake up for the grandsons, there are no twins in our family, and I'll happily celebrate corn flakes. We'll head out this morning to do some Christmas drop-offs for neighbours who have moved away, as well as some small gifts for DH's daughter and son. While we're out we will do what I hope to be a final grocery run before we leave for Calgary. I've got the laundry baskets partially filled with things I'm going to need to make a full dinner away from home - it's just easier than trying to figure out how to put a 15 pound turkey into a 10 pound pot. Roasting pan, carving board, electric carving knife, etc., have already found their way into the basket. @ottahand7Happy Birthday to you with many returns of the day! @smitty34877thank you for sharing another beautiful photo of Miss Camilla; she's such a treasure. Prayers coming your way for you and your surgical team for tomorrow. I like today's menu suggestion, but the air fryer is currently sitting out on our deck - I needed room on the counter to bake, etc., so moved it outside for a while. I do have some frozen porcupine balls that will make their way into the oven and can whip up a couple of servings of spaghetti while they're simmering in the oven. So, it's looking like we'll be having spaghetti and porcupine balls at the kitchen table tonight. And wine. Prayers for everyone who needs them, and cheers to all with celebrations. Be safe, stay well. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂 Gerry 23
dfish Posted December 18, 2022 #23 Share Posted December 18, 2022 Good morning, everyone! Happy Hanukkah! We had a lovely evening last night. Dinner was superb and the Farkle games a ton of fun. My dice were cold as ice, but that's ok. It was the time spent with loved ones that matters. Nothing exciting on the agenda for today. We are watching the weather forecast for next week as it will impact Sue's ability to get down from her rental for Christmas. It looks like we are going to have a houseful. But, that's what I wanted when I moved here. I guess we're having a run on comfort food. Spaghetti and meatballs definitely fall into that category, no matter how they are prepared. My oven in Ohio had a built in air fryer. The one here does not and an air fryer isn't on the agenda in the near future. We have too many other things we want first. But, if you are in my situation, you can always prepare the meatballs in the traditional way. Lack of an air fryer shouldn't stop you! Improvise! Our first recipe is an easy one. https://airfryereats.com/air-fryer-spaghetti-and-meatballs/ Now, if you want to go all fancy, Williams Sonoma has a recipe where you make your own pasta as well. I'd probably just go with the stuff you get in the store, but follow the rest of the recipe for the sauce and meatballs. Oh, I'd have to buy their sauce. Never mind, I'll make mom's sauce. https://www.williams-sonoma.com/recipe/fresh-spaghetti-with-air-fried-meatballs.html This last one is all about the meatballs. You can do what you want with them. Make a meatball sandwich or toss with sauce and pasta. https://www.thegratefulgirlcooks.com/air-fryer-italian-meatballs/ I can just imagine the satisfying crunch when you bite into these. Wishing everyone a wonderful day. @smitty34877 Terry, we'll be thinking of you and thank you for the picture of our Miss Camilla. Hoping everyone on a BHB is having a fantastic time! 18

Rare ottahand7 Posted December 18, 2022 #25 Share Posted December 18, 2022 Happy Sunday and Happy Hannukah! No time to bake cookies right now but DS is going to bring DF some Christmas cookies today. No twins in our family but a shout out to all twins. I just spent a part of my morning appreciating all the flakes that fell last night. Another 4-5" so a lot of shoveling to get to my bird feeders. Snow plow man came again last night which is the sixth time this year already. Can't wait to get out of here on Wednesday. We moved up our drive south a day early because Thursday we have system snow coming. It will be after my nail appointment on Wednesday so we will be getting a late start for our drive to Bowling Green, Kentucky. Stanley Steemer coming to clean our vents tomorrow and I have an 8 am pulmonary doc appointment. After that DF is driving up to Grand Rapids to get his Yellow Fever Waiver letter from his doctor. HA is famous for mixed messaging because our Grand SA brochure said YF vaccination was recommended. We got our information for boarding and it says signed waiver no copies. Thankfully tomorrow is a snow free day. We had another HA surprise this morning. John got another email for our trip documents for our 7 day cruise and we got a change in our room assignment after I had printed all the luggage tags. WE had 3418 which is a partial ocean view with easy access to the Promenade deck. This morning we are in 1926 which is an unobstructed ocean view. I guess HA thinks that is a better cabin. Can't expect a lot for a free casino cruise during the holidays. @dfish, @summer slope and @cat shepardThanks for all of our comestibles for the day! Those meatballs looked really yummy! We are having rib roast, scalloped potatoes, asparagus, baked brie and carrot cake. Today's cocktail would be good minus the bitters and the chardonnay looks good too. @rafinmdThanks for compiling our Cares and Celebrations list! Prayers for all on our list and for the people of Ukraine who were bombarded again last night. @ger_77 Thank you for the birthday wishes! Have a great Sunday!
