Rtowncruiser Posted April 6, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2023 On our last cruise which ended April 1, we will have accrued enough points to put us into Elite. Our next cruise is April 8, and if our points total doesn't update in time, will they adjust it once we board? Also during the complimentary happy hour, how are gratuities handled? Do they give you a receipt to sign? Thanks! 1

Any gratuities for CC HH drinks are at your discretion. Nothing to sign as you are not charged gratuities for CC HH drinks. .
Arizona Wildcat Posted April 6, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 6, 2023 You will be upgraded to Elite. Probably already are - check the website. There is no real happy hour. Just show your card at any bar from 5-7 for drinks at no charge. Gratuity is up to you. No receipt as nothing is billed.

Most but not any bar - excludes world class and MDR. There may be others. I am sure someone will have the full list.

Rare keesar Posted April 6, 2023 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2023 You will be billed if you order drinks not on the Happy Hour drinks menu. Otherwise, nothing to sign.
dazey Posted April 6, 2023 #7 Share Posted April 6, 2023 We always order a martini and a water for each of usand give the server $5. If we get another martini each we give another $5. Thinking we may be overdoing it after reading CC. Our reasoning is that since we are not actually paying for the drinks, they may not get any qratuity if we do not leave something. Any thoughts is appreciated.

I think it's too much but if you're comfortable giving a $5 tip for your drinks then go right ahead. No doubt the recipient appreciates it.
dazey Posted April 6, 2023 #9 Share Posted April 6, 2023 What would you say is a decent amount to leave then? Do they get some gratuity from Celebrity when they serve HH drinks? Believe me I do not need to spend almost $100 on HH drinks - not trying to showboat - just trying to be fair with the server.

Tipping is all personal preference. What someone does, tips etc has no bearing on how I will tip. People will be all over the place on this, But for 2 drinks you would be in line since figure the drink costs on ship about 9-10 then do the 20% grat so anywhere from 3-5 depending on how you want to tip. Doesn't matter what I think you should leave; if you've decided that $5 is 'fair', then just go ahead and do it.

cruisegirlppp Posted April 6, 2023 #13 Share Posted April 6, 2023 We also tip a few $ for any HH drinks, as we are not sure that the server will receive a gratuity otherwise. The servers are always grateful and often remember you if you return on a following evening.

Craft Social is the new name for Cellar Masters so basically the same thing.

Just off the Edge cruise and we left $3 to $5 dollars each round . They were also very appreciative and we also wanted to make sure they were taken care of since it was a free drink. Roy on the Edge makes a very good dirty martini 🍸 Edited April 6, 2023 by sdnich
EarthByShip Posted April 15, 2023 #16 Share Posted April 15, 2023 We just finished a B2B and became elite on the 2nd leg. We went the Captain Club desk, he added our latest points, then printed new ship cards, which say elite. The card is how the bartender knows not to charge. Not a very good benefit for beer drinkers. Only choice was Heineken or Bud Light.

EarthByShip Posted July 18, 2023 #23 Share Posted July 18, 2023 Yes! Benefits for the rest of the cruise. As soon as you reach the required points go to the CC desk on-board the ship. They will take care of you.

The CC host sent us a bottle of wine to congratulate us though
