This. Debt in America is just way too common practice. HELOCs, layaways, intro 0% financing, deferred payments, and the list goes on. There are so many ways for people to take on debt they can't afford to pay back. Heck you can even finance your cruise payments with Royal Caribbean!

Not just in the USA - exactly the same in the UK except with the Student Loan Debt which is repaid differently:

1) No repayment at all until your income reaches a certain level around $29000 a year.

2) You then pay  pay 1% on the figure above the 29000 regardless of how much you owe.

3) the "debt" is wiped clean after a period (used to be 35 years but I believe that may be increasing).

4) Although the "debt" has interest added that really makes no difference as the repayments are based on what you earn not what you owe.

5) any year your income drops below or doesn't reach the 29000 no repayment due.

Basically it's a 1% Student Tax but for political purposes no UK Government will admit that.

You are the one claiming there is nothing but steam left over...no one else on this board has.

Black market products exist for just about everything. However, there is very little reason not to just buy reputable products from a store in the case of legal products such as vaping products. I guess if one  really wanted to go out of their way to find products not from a reputable manufacturer they could, but I suspect you are grasping at straws here.

Price - 20% tax in the UK.

Age restriction - must be over 18 in the UK .

Re-read what was written before you accuse others. What I wrote was "Except it obviously isn't just "steam"."

Which does not mean what you are claiming it means. Actually the opposite. I would have had to have written "Except it obviously _is_ just steam" for your interpretation to be true.

We are coming from different markets here - but remember cruise ships themselves are full of passengers from different markets - not just the US.

So while your claim is fairly true from the US, given the prevalence and open distribution of these products there, in some other markets it is _not_ true. Here in Australia, in fact, there is a thriving market in illegal imports, thanks to the sales restrictions in place. People go "out of their way" to get their fix as it were.

terrble policy and answer! I will send in my objections!  What is the best e address.

There should be NO VAPING or SMOKING  of any kind, unless in the designated outdoor areas. Even those are hard to avoid walking through sometimes.

I doubt the casinos have air purelifiers installed.  They are also  very much in vogue as a health precaution  after the Canada wildfires caused smoke and invisible toxic  particles to invade air we breathe!

My husb smokes cigars. He follows the rules and I live with that but definitely do not need vapors  from vapers!

Does anyone remember the short lived incense machines in EDEN?  The stench and smoke clouds were unbearable, caused allergy attacks, lingered on clothing and EDEN furniture  etc.

Celebrity seems adrift!

so.. . "There should be no vaping or smoking of any kind" ... except your husband.   Seems.. a bit hypocritical.

Seems a bit . . . misquoted.

Hmmm.  Nice article.  It mentions the "test" and the negative feedback.

Interesting that some of the higher-end lines allow it. One of them (Seabourn) even allows it in staterooms. Also surprised that Virgin does not since I would have guessed that was who Celebrity was trying to emulate.

Now knowing what other cruise lines vaping policies are makes me less inclined to believe that the end game for Celebrity was to eventually allow tobacco smoking in casinos. So in that respect, this is good news.

I didn't think that allowing tobacco smoking in the casino was ever the end game.  Many more people of the younger demographic they are trying to attract (not us older cruisers) actually enjoy vaping.  Not smoking.  The celebrity "test" makes more sense in seeing what their competition allows for vaping.  Not saying I agree with it.

I think I’m beginning to understand why Lisa moved to a transition to retirement position.  These knee jerk, money grabbing changes/tests may have been  the impetus for the parting of the ways for her.
Unfortunately the brand is trying to move down to mediocrity and the the new President (not CEO) is there to implement the the downgrade.

As I have mentioned in an earlier post, I would like to know who the person(s) is whose lack of consideration and respect for Celebrity paying guests might be. By name, rank and serial number. I know, it's tough to admit being idiotic, and within that idiocy exhibiting pernicious intent. However, if this individual(s) can reveal his/herself through some kind of communication, explaining what it is they were thinking, or not thinking, that would go a long way to describing the benefits of this exercise, for Celebrity and for the large majority of its passengers. Certainly, there has to be worthwhile enjoyment and well-being for all from vaping indoors. Come out from the shadows of your corporate retreat and let us know what that might be.

LOL.  I think they are listening to a highly paid culture consultant or firm.  Kind of like making decisions on recommendations from people like Kelly Hoppen who never cruised before.  I worked for years in very large corporations.  Consultants are hired to deflect the blame if decisions go wrong.  This vaping thing "smells" like a consultant initiative.  Even with the term "test" being used, typical of consultant speak.

sJust received an email from Blue Chip for complementary cruises(multiple choices on Eclipse through November.  I responded "no take on offer as vaping in casino is presently allowed".
