Diamond Lounge

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This is perfect. The fountain sodas tastes a little funky to me. We were just on Allure and the freestyle machine was fine but to go to a bar the soda tasted like turpentine. Do they give you canned drinks in the DL? Do you know?

On Liberty in May they tasted the same so I was going to take my own soft drinks on board. Now I won't have to.

Glad I could assist. The bartenders had no problems providing the sodas in cans unopened. One of them stated I could get all 3 at once and not bar hop as I was doing. I wanted to take advantage of the 3 free drinks and I do not drink alcohol. I also did not want to drink 3 sodas in a 3 hour time period. 3 a day was more than I needed so I gave my room steward a can daily as they have to pay for sodas as well.

I never did ask for cans in the lounge but be assured all the bartenders over the course of 14 days did provide the sodas in cans.

Malibu is not one of the rums offered in the lounge or with your vouchers. And I don't recall Kahlua being on the menu either.

Did a search and found this helpful link:

Thanks trvlmil for finding and posting the menu. Very helpful :)

I cannot remember, is there a dress code for the Diamond lounge? A friend is asking me. Are men allowed in shorts and polo shirts for instance?

At one time it was supposed to be whatever the dresscode for the dining room is, but honestly I've seen everything from formal to shorts/t-shirts. I think that is still the policy.

I see a reference of three drinks offered. I'm on a 12 night cruise so does that mean I get a total of three drinks to use over the 12 nights or three drinks each day?

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info.

3 per day only valid during the cocktail hours the lounge is serving and they do not roll over. There may be a bar or lounge they cannot be redeemed at.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will pass on the information. Happy Cruising!

Not usable in any of the restaurants. You can use them in all bars, including in the theater during the lounge happy hour times. Not sure about the larger ships that have other bars, But, they cannot be used in the Bionic Bar.

May vary by ship. On our recent Brilliance cruise, they specifically asked for no shorts in the evening.

Hubby and I are sailing on the Grandeur in a few weeks in a grand suite. The suite perks sound great, but some of our friends are Diamond, as are we. My question is, can we go to the diamond lounge with our friends? Will our ship card indicate we are Diamond as well as suite? Can we use the "3 drinks at any bar" perk?

I know these are stupid questions but it has been a while since we've sailed RCL.

I don't drink beer or wine. My drink is a Malibu Bay Breeze or Kahlua and cream would they make these types of drinks?

Don't recognise either being on the list. Drinks that are on the list which I enjoyed was Sandeman Port and Baileys Cream.

A big disappointment is that they only have Tanqueray Gin. I like a G&T but not with Tanqueray. Would have preferred Gordons or Bombay Saphire.

We were just on the Serenade and loved the diamond lounge, it was our first time as diamond. They would make a martini but no Kahlua, used Baileys instead to make a sombero for my husband. Also several wines/beers. They served cheese, crackers, little appetizers both hot and cold each night. We met delightful people there to chat with. We would stop at one of the bars to get a cocktail to take to the show at around 8 PM. I was able to take a glass of wine from the lounge to dinner with no problem. You could also get soda water and sodas. Hope this helps.

I know the topic is about the DL, but same dress code applies to CL/SL.

On our cruise last month on 4 night Enchantment in GS, we didn't go in DL, but were in the CL every evening as it was a nice mostly quiet place to have a drink and finger foods. We wore shorts every night. Nobody said anything to us about our dress attire.

How was this enforced? I thought I was the only one who removed cruisers from their seats?

We are on vacation in the Caribbean, shorts are only natural.... LOL

I was asked to leave Freedom's DL once because of shorts. I was actually just killing time before dressing for dinner. It was no big deal, came back later in my tux. :D

Are there still royal ships who do not have a diamond lounge (maybe the smaller ones)?

Thanks,

Linda

Majesty and Empress do not have dedicated Diamond Lounges.

Just curious, have you been to Monaco? They don't allow shorts in the Grand Casino. They make you aware of that while onboard the ship.

And yes, I know Monaco is not the Caribbean, but they have Palm trees. ;)

I think we would wear long pants and at least a collared shirt for myself. We are going on a Mediterranean cruise next December and I am sure we will plan to dress up in the evening.

Does our wearing shorts in the lounge really take away from another's cruise?? We don't wear shorts to the MDR for dinner.
