More cruisers making P? Crowding out the Suite Guests?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

That's the plan. 😱

Lots of suite guests go elsewhere because they want to.

Many PC are actually in JS or higher

GS is pretty low on totem pole price wise on many sailings.

So the plan according to P SL becomes PL. lol

I suspect the pricing you mentioned is for those periods is what Royal calls their off season. Excluding the Casino rate discount we have received, we haven’t had a rate for GS under $5-6k. GS for Presidents Cruise 2018 nearly $12k.

are you talking $5-6k per person more or for the entire cabin? Thanks

GS prices for the times we cruise, run high $5k to mid $6k, for the cabin. We have gotten a Casino discount on most of those bookings.

This is for typical 7 day. Doesn’t seem to make much difference if on Oasis Class or other ships.

They've changed the layout. Pretty tight now

Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app

Aww when did that happen? It was the same for a year and a half on oasis and allure. Will see how tight it is when we sail allure in Oct.

But right now no CK on serenade that we are boarding in a couple of hours.

So Anthem gets the nightly food choices from MDR and Oasis gets complimentary liquor. Nice to have choices. [emoji6]

FWIW, it's likely easier for CK in Anthem to get MDR food due to its proximity. We've been told that Oasis frowns upon MDR food because they can't keep it hot.

Have you ever been on a Quantum class ship?

I didn't think so.

Dining rooms and galleys = Decks 3 & 4

Coastal Kitchen = Deck 14

Not that different from Oasis class. Hardly the difference between being able to keep food hot or not.

On Oasis Coastal Kitchen is on Deck 17 and Windjammer is on Deck 16. Maybe they could prepare food in Windjammer kitchen which is quite huge and go up one flight to Coaster Kitchen. Or maybe not.

For our summer cruise out of Florida the rate for two in JS is around 5-6k. Alaska cruise for 7 day this past July in JS was 6k.

When the CL cabins cost 2k or less each when the 3 of us on 7 day cruise I am estatic.

Trying MSC Seaside this July for 14 nights in Yacht Club. Costs the same as GS 7 day cruise on Oasis during the same week.

We have not cruised 7+ days for the most part during the summer months as those seem to be the highest rate times. We have taken 3 day cruises in summer but rates don’t seem to be comparable. Our cheapest GS rate has been late January I suspect because of off season???

They would have to be prepped for the mdr menu.

I'm just sharing what I was told last week. They do not feel comfortable bringing food from the MDR up to CK on the Oasis

Info from last January/February on Allure. We were told by CK, they would be glad to provide anything we wanted from MDR menu. I asked this question in reference to Lobster night. They said they would bring tails if we wanted. However, they did suggest we try their preparation of Lobster on Lobster night. We did, it was delicious and no need for the tails.

I'm getting confused. So on the Oasis you can't order food from the MDR in CK but on other ships that have CK you can?

On the 1/19 Anthem cruise we stopped by CK to check out the menu as we had a reservation for that evening. Too much fish and lamb for my taste so we told them we would be dining in the WJ that night, We were encouraged to bring our WJ meals into the CK to eat. When we politely declined, we were told it is often done and if we would like to tell our server what we preferred from the WJ, it would be brought in for us. We do prefer the ambiance in CK to the WJ, but that seemed like a little too much chutzpah for us.

Being able to choose a variety of food from WJ and enjoying it in the atmosphere of CK? Sounds like the best of both worlds to me. :D

We were on Harmony and they got us food from the MDR to CK. They just asked if we minded if it took a few extra minutes. I never even noticed if they took those extra minutes.

Hate to ask because but I am having a friendly debate with my brother in law. While I have no intensions to wear dress shorts in Coastal Kitchen he is convinced that they allow them. He said he was on Anthem last November and saw several gentlemen wearing shorts in Coastal Kitchen. I need to hear it from the Pros before I can concede that he was right. Dan

Nothing is enforced, anyone can wear whatever.

Were you able to do this from Dinning in Cruise Planner or another page? We sail first week in April and I just don’t see anything? Is it possible that this option is outside of Cruise Planner and on the page one selects MDR time?

The best I can remember, it was from Dining in the Cruise Planner.
