The 2018-2019 FLL Sail-away season begins with ms Veendam on October 17, 2018

Welcome back to Port Everglades, HAL ships - the Sail-away Addicts have missed you and your toots!

Veendam will be the first HAL ship for the season.  She will be at Pier 26 (port to) from 0500-1600.  She is the only cruise ship in port.  Veendam is doing a 12 day Cuba cruise.

Thursday, October 18 - At Sea

Friday, October 19 - Havana, Cuba

Saturday, October 20 - At Sea

Sunday, October 21 - Cienfuegos, Cuba

Monday, October 22 -  Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

Tuesday, October 23 - Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Wednesday, October 24 - At Sea

Thursday, October 25 - Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands

Friday, October 26 - Amber Cove, Dominican Republic

Saturday, October 27 - At Sea

Sunday, October 28 - Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

Monday, October 29 - Fort Lauderdale, FL

I just watched the Veendam  sailing out of Port Canaveral. We don't often see HAL ships here so it was a real pleasure.

KK, when you open a "reply" box, there is a ribbon along the top of the box - each letter or symbol is for some change or other  - B is for Bold, I is for italics, U is for underline, S is for strikethrough, etc., then towards the end of the line, A is for colour, and then there is a box for size.  If you click on that, you can go up to 72 for size (just scroll down the drop-down menu a bit).

 

I guess you have to set the size, etc., each time you post.

Good news.  According to the port schedule Zuiderdam will be at Terminal 5, same place where Veendam was yesterday.  Possibly of interest to Zuiderdam passengers, there's a "NASA EXPO" next door at Terminal 6.

What a good picture it is on PTZ.  I seem to remember they did an upgrade while the Alaska season was on.

 

Im having difficulties with the new CC;  I am going to look and see if there is still a "How to post photos" thread...  I am a bit discouraged about all the changes.

Both times I have checked Nieuw Amsterdam has been front and center on the Aruba webcam.

If Veendam gets off on or close to schedule the 2 sailaways should follow each other pretty nicely.

It is. Port Everglades has a dredging project on the schedule. If it goes through, I expect more large ships. The project is mostly for container ships, but a deeper, wider channel will impact cruising as well.
