I have loved your great blogs over the years, and was always impressed how Carol kept cruising/traveling despite her mobility issues.

I’m incredibly saddened by your tremendous loss.

Praying for peace and comfort as you forge ahead.

Sending all our sympathy, Mike. We have followed your blog with much interest and have often taken trips similar to or same as you and Carol, basing a lot of our port choices on your experiences, good or bad. We're so very sorry for your loss.

So very to hear of Carol's passing.   Although we never had the opportunity to meet, I have had the joy of following along on your travels for many years.   The smiles in the photos always portrayed the joy you had being together.

Take care of yourself.

Joe

I can't imagine living without my wife and cruising partner.

Our sincerest condolences.

While on Reflection recently they played a song every day that never failed to bring a tear or two.  I don't know if the lyrics will be removed but the title does not reflect the mood it inspires:

" "If We Were Vampires"

It's not the long flowing dress that you're in
Or the light coming off of your skin
The fragile heart you protected for so long
Or the mercy in your sense of right and wrong

It's not your hands, searching slow in the dark
Or your nails leaving love's watermark
It's not the way you talk me off the roof
Your questions like directions to the truth

It's knowing that this can't go on forever
Likely one of us will have to spend some days alone
Maybe we'll get forty years together
But one day I'll be gone or one day you'll be gone

If we were vampires and death was a joke
We'd go out on the sidewalk and smoke
And laugh at all the lovers and their plans
I wouldn't feel the need to hold your hand

Maybe time running out is a gift
I'll work hard 'til the end of my shift
And give you every second I can find
And hope it isn't me who's left behind

It's knowing that this can't go on forever
Likely one of us will have to spend some days alone
Maybe we'll get forty years together
But one day I'll be gone or one day you'll be gone

It's knowing that this can't go on forever
Likely one of us will have to spend some days alone
Maybe we'll get forty years together
But one day I'll be gone or one day you'll be gone"

Mike, Henry and I are so sorry. We really enjoyed Carol on the Nov cruise.  I know she probably didn't feel that well, but she was still cracking us up with her dry wit. I am glad that you two got to enjoy the excitement of the Edge and so happy that you were upgraded to the suite.

I was just looking at your pictures of the two Edge cruises and was thinking "What a great couple!"  You two have brought much pleasure to all of us by sharing your cruises. Hopefully, all of those wonderful photos and commentary about your adventures together will give you some comfort over the difficult times ahead.  We will toast you and Carol tonight.  Take care and maybe our paths will cross again....

Marilyn
