Robinsoncruiseso Posted September 20, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2019 Trivia, bingo, shows in Princess Live, gym, par course, swim, thermal suite, people watch in the Piazza, sample everything in the International Cafe, build a giant gelato sundae, view overpriced art in the gallery, search and book your next cruise, take the tender back and forth in Cabo “just for fun”.
brisalta Posted September 20, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2019 I would suggest walking around the promenade a few times for exercise and sitting on the promenade but I do not think the Royal has a promenade which is a sad state of affairs. Or do as Robinsocruiso suggests. View and snigger at the bad overpriced art. If the Royal has afternoon tea go to that and socialize with people you have never spoken to before. Write a novel and then shred it. Tour the galley if they offer that on the Royal. Try one of each dessert in the MDR and then repeat the same in the buffet. Regret ever going on a ship without a promenade after eating so much dessert because there is no where to walk it off. 😉 2

4hunters Posted September 20, 2019 #6 Share Posted September 20, 2019 Sleep, eat, casino, repeat. Enjoy your 7 days. I’d sure jump off in at least one of the ports if I were you.
partybarbie Posted September 20, 2019 #7 Share Posted September 20, 2019 The Royal has on demand movies. I like to catch up and see all the ones that I missed in the theater.
Thrak Posted September 20, 2019 #8 Share Posted September 20, 2019 Seven days? Really?? Take the 28 day Hawaii/South Pacific cruise. 18 of those 28 days are sea days. Somehow we had no problem filling them. Relax. Go outside and watch the ocean go by. You might be amazed at what crosses your view.
Kartgv Posted September 20, 2019 #9 Share Posted September 20, 2019 (edited) Sorry, you can't use the casino while ship is in port (I think OP is talking about staying on the ship when it's in Mexico ports). Otherwise, all of the above, plus: Crosswords, sudoku, take binoculars and watch the horizon for dolphins/whales/pelicans, gorgeous yachts in the harbor, pirate boats returning with a ship-load of drunken passengers, 'pier runners'.... john_galt Posted September 20, 2019 #13 Share Posted September 20, 2019 Caribbean cruise in December (my 15th). I've been to all the usual ports and have no interest in doing tourist things. I just stay on the ship and chill. I did get off the ship in Key West last cruise. Hired a limo for 4 hours and told the driver I wanted to see Key West without seeing any other tourists. Ate lunch at a place popular with the locals on Stock Island. Driver explained the problems of living there (expensive, the homeless, tourists, palmetto bugs). Drove past where she lives. Watched a chicken walk into a bar (learned all about feral chickens). Got up as far as the Naval Air Station. She took us out by the airport and to South Point. It was a lot of fun. But normally, I just relax and have people bring me food.

Anubi Posted September 20, 2019 #19 Share Posted September 20, 2019 We recently did the 15-day round-trip to Hawaii and loved all the sea days. It was the first time in years that I was relaxed enough to get 8 STRAIGHT UNINTERRUPTED HOURS OF SLEEP!!!! Yeah, that was a big deal for me. 🤣🤣🤣 I would also recommend doing the behind the scenes tour if you get a chance. If you're really ambitious you can do a Renewal, but that's another thread completely. LOL
rbrad3 Posted September 20, 2019 Author #20 Share Posted September 20, 2019 Thanks all we have always been on the go on cruises ...this one is to relax....just didn't want to miss something on board that we might not think of ….I usually start with a bloody mary and breakfast on the balcony …..then a walk or catch a demo ...hot tub...lunch more drinks ...appetizers cocktails ..dinner a show another walk casino.....listen to music ….I was more thinking along the lines of spa treatments or other activity's … thanks all

FloaterBoat Posted September 20, 2019 #22 Share Posted September 20, 2019 Our next sailing we'll have 5 sea days. I like them on port intensive itineraries. By the time they come, I usually need a rest. I catch up on sleep. Eat a ton. Stream movies. Work out every one of the days. So I always take plenty of gym clothes. Maybe read. Lay out a sun. Explore the ship, especially on the first couple sea days. That's basically it. Loaf around. Couldn't imagine avoiding ports to stay on the ship though. I do whatever on sea days out of necessity, but for me, its nowhere near as stimulating as getting off the ship. gives me cabin fever after a while. MotownVoice Posted September 20, 2019 #23 Share Posted September 20, 2019 If you can't figure out how to sit and just be ... on a lounger in the middle of the Atlantic or the Mediterranean, for an entire day you're doing it wrong. But I will say, those one hour massages are amazing if completely over priced.
