Coming soon, at least within a week whenever I get to Toal Wine. 😁 I’m going to ask if they can make me one on the Odyssey in 3 weeks. Wow, I didn't realize that you had an Odyssey cruise coming up. Enjoy!

Andrew was fascinated with it. We must have spent an hour there while he experienced it, and he didn’t want to leave when in was time to move on. We’ve also done the CN Tower in Toronto and the Columbia Icefield Skywalk near Jasper, AB.

Although I have a fear of heights, I've gone skydiving twice and didn't experience that fear at all, even when leaving the plane. I think we were so high up (about 13,000 feet) and the ground so far away, that my perspective was thrown off. Mike probably just has full faith in his plane. But sometimes the engineer helps. I have a certain fear of heights. My first solo cross country flight, from PBI to Key West, here I am over a mile above the ground, in basically a little over 2000 lbs of aluminum , with a little 140 HP engine keeping me up. The confidence comes from some aeronautical engineering courses, understanding exactly why this whole process actually works. Don't think I ever thought about it again. Today, we did a guided bushwalk. 8 of us from Sydney and 1 young crew member. We were walking single file through the bush, myself second from the end and the crew member at the rear. We suddenly stopped. A Kangaroo and her Joey were in the bush ahead. The crew member whispered to me “this is my first time seeing a kangaroo” I said, go up to the front. Big smile from all of us as he quietly moved up to join our guide at the front to have a closer look. Joey then decided that mum’s pouch was safest place to be but couldn’t work out how to get in… Tonnes of kangaroo poo everywhere. Asked our guide how many kangaroos are in this location. A mob of approx 100. He said when taking another group of cruisers on the walk, he was disappointed for them that he didn’t see any where we had but when they reached the rocky beach above, there were 40 on the beach. Morning tea break. Put on by our guide and his partner. A young couple who have been running the company for four years through Covid lockdowns & bushfires. Lots of whales putting on a show today as we walked to the lookouts. No photos of the whales but the views were lovely. Monitor Lizard next to the trail Accidentally took a photo of my shadow. Need to lay off the desserts… Back to the ship for a late lunch on the balcony. This cruise life is hard to take especially on beautiful days like these. I love looking at your photos! I hope your cruise was spectacular all the way through! Edited November 6, 2023 by jagsfan

Hard to realize how high it is from the above pic. Here is one looking up at it. In Seattle have you been to the Columbia Center? It's about 300 ft higher then the Space Needle. It's the tallest Building in Seattle. https://skyviewobservatory.com/ https://skyviewobservatory.com/experiences/ About Us Sky View Observatory at Columbia Center in downtown Seattle is the ideal first stop on your visit to the Emerald City. Here you can map out your entire Pacific Northwest experience: riding the Great Wheel, shopping in Pike Place Market, hiking the Cascades, ferrying to Bainbridge Island, cruising Elliott Bay and exploring the San Juan Islands. Sky View Observatory is located on the 73rd floor of Columbia Center. At 902 feet it offers the tallest public viewing area in the Pacific Northwest. The 360 degree panoramic view includes Mt. Rainier, Bellevue, the Cascade Mountains, Mt. Baker, Elliott Bay, the Olympic Mountains, the Space Needle and the city of Seattle. Developed by Martin Selig, the 76-story, 1.5 million square foot Columbia Center was completed in 1985. Clad in smoked tempered glass and Carnelian granite, the structure boasts 8,800 windows, 2,100 hydronic heat pumps, 48 elevators, and 6 escalators. The many technical innovations required for such a large scale project, such as viscoelastic dampers and triangle shaped bracing, enable Columbia Center to withstand earthquakes and hurricane force winds, making it one of the strongest and safest buildings in the Pacific Northwest. Rare h20skibum Posted November 6, 2023 #107510 Share Posted November 6, 2023 Now this really makes me feel old. I just got this email notice today, that this was the date of my grandfather’s birthday. He was born 138 years ago. I remember, when I was a teenager, I recorded him reciting some poems he had written. I recorded it on a reel to reel tape deck. At some point, I transferred it to a cassette. Now I just realized I should probably transfer it to digital format while I still have a working cassette deck.

We did a private tour when we were in Seattle and our tour guide suggested the Columbia Center because it's higher with better views and ALOT less crowded then the space needle where we would waste to much time trying to get into. Columbia Center we walked right in and took the elevator right up to the top floor....only like 15 people up there. I have a picture some where of looking down into both the baseball and football stadiums with the space needle down below behind the stadiums... I'll see if I can find it.

Left Sydney on Saturday afternoon back to Sydney and work tomorrow morning - straight from the ship. Sorry I know this is a RCL group but the exchange rate is awful atm so Australian cruises that are in AUD are my cruises of choice. On board Majestic Princess. Love all your pics. We will be in Sydney in less than 90 days now. It’s coming so fast. I still have about 10 ports of call or days in Sydney to plan, trying to knock them out so I can then relax and enjoy the holidays. We can not wait to see Kangaroos and Koalas! As a side note, Royal isn’t offering excursions in some ports of call or they are way over priced. I find the zero excursions strange. It’s mostly that way in Australia, not New Zealand. So about 1/3 will be Royal excursions, a few private when I could find them and the rest on our own. Hopefully all my planning works. It’s been a bit frustrating as a planner and our roll call is not active.
