Im sure enjoying my heated throw blanket when I’m sitting on the couch. Do you have one?

I sometimes just hug on a heat pad to get warm.... and wear a flannel shirt.

26⁰F with the sun out.  8 days to go before cruising.

Our daughter gifted me with one a few weeks before Christmas!😉. It kept me comfortable before heading South.

It's going to snow for 8 hours but will only get an 1 inch when all is said & done?

Can't really capture it in a picture but there is a lot of snow just swirling around. Feels like I'm living in a snow globe.

The question is, who is rushing out Monday to buy an Applebee’s Date Night Pass?

I will just stop with that.  I was going to add a video of date night at Applebee’s, but I thought…..Yeah, that one will get me in trouble!

Our daughter's Rescue dog Lola, who is originally from Alabama, last night took one look at the snow and said"nope"!

When my daughter got home from work today, Lola was enjoying playing in the snow with my grandsons..she just likes to run inside to dry her feet, and wants to go back outside again 😊

Oh, but Debbie, it's good that you changed your plans.  Pouring rain today (again;) Cape Coral has had heavy flooding for two days already this week .  I have never known us to have as much rain as we have been having this past month.  I should've gone to the pool instead of clothes shopping yesterday.  I sure blew it!

My boss's Wife was telling me they had 8 or 9 inches of rain in 3 hrs.

We had 6 to 7 inches of snow today.   I got out of work a little early then we shoveled out 2 neighbors.   Relaxing now with some adult hot chocolate....mine has Kaluha and Eric's has peppermint schnapps

I hope so too!  We haven't been to the beach yet, I've been in the pool only once (and then it rained) if it's not raining, it's cool out, etc.  I have never experienced this weather in the 24 years we've been coming here.  I usually have a nice tan going by now...

But again, at least I don't have the heat on, and we're not sloshing around in snow, so I do have to stop complaining.  Mea culpa!

I don't take very much time off. By the time vacation does comes around it is usually very much needed.

Afterwards, we sat  in the park near the ferry wharf and had fish & chips for lunch.  Whilst BIL was holding his battered fish and chatting to me, a seagull swooped in and snatched it….

We had a 'Jane Austen' couple of days . On Thursday we visited her home where she lived with her mother and sister and wrote her novels.

Her home, a normal village house gifted to the ladies by her wealthy brother

The home of her brother about half a mile away on the edge of the village

It was fascinating learning about her life and large family. A lot of her life was in her books. I.e. one of her brothers was taken on by rich relatives and left three estates (Mansfield Park).  They lived in a house gifted by a rich relative who lived nearby (Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion). She was a daughter of a clergyman, as was the main character in Northangar Abbey.  They lived in Bath for several years and Bath is important in Persuasion. Two of her brothers were Admirals in the Navy and she used them as role models for the navy officers in Persuasion

Yesterday we visited Winchester Cathedral. Winchester traces its roots back to 150BC and was once the capital of England. Its Cathedral was started in the 11 century.  When Jane Austen was ill she travelled there with her sister to get medical help and died in a house very close to the Cathedral. It was normal then to be buried inside the nearest church and this is why she's buried there. She wasn't that well known or famous when she died at age 41, though her novels were beginning to get noticed.  During her lifetime her books didn't have her name on them, just 'written by a lady'. She was 'outed' by one of her brothers after her death.

The cathedral

Her grave inside the Cathedral.  It doesn't mention her books at all. But there has since been a window dedicated to her and people leave flowers
