Cheers to you today! Thanks...we are so used to traveling on the older ships...next year will be quite a change for us, doing both Odyssey and Wonder.

Finally got confirmation of the switch from Allure to Wonder (way faster than I expected!). They were able to keep me in a GS for all three legs...but would have had to transfer on last leg to another GS. Call to D+ desk, and with some investigation between the rep on the phone and myself, we took us out of all three cabins in favor of totally different GS (all same deck) and all in same cabin in better location (mid deck starboard). Plus she was able to transfer my missing OBC over for the TA. Now that really made my day...heck made my week!! 😄 Congrats! I am so jealous. That new suite neighborhood looks sweet. And not needing to change cabins, excellent.

I love the port stops. Opposites attract, right? Right! Dick loves to take off in every port and just wander. I’m done with shopping…when you live in a condo, you have to decide what needs to go when you bring in something new…except for jewelry! I love being on a quiet ship, getting something good for lunch, and bringing it back to sit on the balcony with my Kindle and eat in peace. With bad knees, I don’t enjoy the beach any more, and I sure can’t get into or out of a chaise lounge. The beauty of a cruise is that everyone can do what suits them, and feel totally safe doing it. I had a friend who loved to sit in bars and listen to conversations. She always said a cruise ship was a dream come true for her. Friendly surroundings and no worries. First time there this week. CK lunch is not the greatest, very repetitive. We like the chicken sandwich and the scallops with risotto but the flatbreads are terrible. My DH loves the tomato soup though, so we go there more than I would otherwise. I like the variety of the WJ for lunch.

Thanks for the picture. Too bad we don't have the Oasis class ship in the west coast or else I'll be sailing on her more frequently. There were plenty of bumps in the road over 60 years, but we weathered them all, so far. We’re fortunate that our children live within an hour, even though the next generation seems to stay where they graduated from college! We lost our youngest to opioid abuse, but his twin daughters and their husbands and little ones live close by. Life overall has been good to us; retirement brought time to travel, so we have visited all 50 states, 7 provinces, and at last count, 34 countries. We’ve seen and done things our younger selves never dreamed of. Cruising and Cruise Critic have added so much to our lives. I enjoy each and every one of you, love reading the minutiae of your lives, and feel like we’re friends, even though I haven’t met you. Mimi Lovely post Mimi. I am really pleased to hear you have had plenty of cruising and touring holidays and full lives. Deepest sympathies for the news of your youngest. Take care. Graham.
Arzeena Posted September 24, 2021 #31243 Share Posted September 24, 2021 @jagsfan Mimi, I have a question for you. I see you are in the Jacksonville area? I was wondering if you can give me some info/your two cents on the Jacksonville Beach area? We were thinking of doing an overnight stop enroute to FLL before our cruise. We usually stay in St Augustine, but were thinking of something different. Thanks.

First night of the season to sleep with the windows open. Hopefully it stays like this the rest of the year. Just one of the reasons I love this part of Florida, the ability to turn off the ac and open window for several months of the year. We are lucky to be able to open the windows for a week or so. Can’t wait to move more north.

The steaks are really quite good. They offer a local limousine service. If you are within a certain radius, you make a reservation and book a ride in the limo and they'll pick you up and drop you off in one of these great big stretch limo's with bull horns on them. No cost, just tips. The limo driver told me that about 1 in 10 who attempt the 72ox challenge actually succeed. The grand champion is a woman who is a slight 120 lbs and she devoured 3 steaks in 20 minutes... including sides. I didn't believe him but looked it up and sure enough, it was true. ]https://www.huffpost.com/entry/molly-schuyler-steak-dinners-record-20-minutes_n_7097946 Where does all that food go inside of someone?
