Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

@Sunshine3601I thought of you this morning when we were heading to the hospital for my MRI's.  How is the smoke situation there?  It was really heavy here in our town,  but not quite as bad in Manahawkin.  It was still pretty smoky when we got home around 12:00

Have a great Birthday Dinner, Deb!🌹

Sounds just like my Wife. Our travel is greatly controlled by our cats. There was a time when we had older cats that were put down because one issue or another. We said then never again are we ever going to get any more animals.............That didn't last long, now we have 4 cats. 🙂

We have two cats now 15 years old, we definitely limit vacations, but currently have excellent pet sitters , they send us updates on kitties along with pictures daily while we are gone.

I thought my sister has s lot of cats.  She has 4 all black.  One of them lives only in the Master bedroom with them since the others pick on that one.  They have litter boxes everywhere  They are having trouble finding a cat sitter for their next trip

We have 5 cats and 3 litter boxes.  All the cats get along with only a little tiff now and then.  It is a challenge to find a house sitter. We also have 2 dogs too.  Travel is only a few weeks out of the year and the rest of the time I would not want to have pets.

This was from Angi's list!

How awful!!!

We had a problem with an AC Company who has serviced most of the Condos for many years in our Community.  Three years ago when we got to our Condo in November, the weather was in the 90's and our air wasn't working.  The AC unit was not even 5 years old, but we bought this particular condo just months before, and  we were told the Warranty doesn't carry over to the new owners.  We spent a good penny on the new parts, and a year later, there were again problems with the AC, and were told the parts now needed weren't the same parts that had been replaced the year before.  Yadda yadda yadda, we went with a new company.  Total bummer the way there are scammers out there.

Good Job, definitely pays to check out for yourself.    I feel like so many businesses are making excuses and "jacking" up prices when unnecessary to do so.

Not AC, but something similar.

I scheduled one of my vehicles for service today.  I have always had it serviced at the dealership, and when I called last week for the appointment, I found out the dealership sold to new owners.

I thought it was odd, because when I dropped off the car last night, there were only a couple cars in the service lot, and 5 service people hanging out in the office.  It didn’t appear that any of the old employees were kept on.

So move forward to today, and I get a call from them.  They say, “Oh, your car doesn’t need anything for inspection, but because of the mileage, we could do…..”. And they list four more things they are trying to upsell.  The thing is, I had those things done within the last six months at the old dealership.

And when I picked up my vehicle, it was the only one in the service lot and five service people hanging out again.

I don’t know if their lack of customers is due to people cutting back on service, or some other reason.  The old dealership was always busy.

I need to do some research on this dealer to see what their reputation is now.  Maybe they just didn’t have access to the old records, or they did, but didn’t look them up.  Sometimes, change is not good.

We have 4 litter boxes, all of which are downstairs in the mechanical room. All 4 roam all over the house and for the most part all get a long fine except sometimes we have a pig or 2 depending on the food that is served who tend to not want to share. 😞

We have been lucky, had a great cat sitter in NJ and thought once we moved here to Va. we would never go on vacation again, but one of our neighbors gave us the name of a young lady that goes to his church. We contacted her and she now cat sits/ house sits while we are gone. So we have been able to get away every now and then. So that great !!

What a great idea and very nice gesture.  He must have very much appreciated it.

Thank you.  He was rapt. It was 9.30pm our time last night when she FaceTimed him.  He messaged me again first thing this morning to say how wonderful it was.

We have two giant litter box’s , our two cats who we were told were siblings and were inseparable first couple of years now do not care for each other , one is twice the size of the other , good thing is the smaller kitty is twice as fast and can jump three times higher than her brother.

When is the burger BBQ? I need to be on time!😁

I just noticed what you meant 😆.   I thought it was a reference to the little tomato in the background.

I had a similar experience.  The Lexus dealership that I had been going to for 20 years & never had an issue. They just did what I asked & basically followed the manufacturers service schedule.  Then, first service under the new owners, they tried to hit me up for "dealers recommended " service for am additional $500. Some of the items included were dubious at best: deodorizer for thr air vents?? Cleaning the drains around the sunroof to prevent clogging?? *****, never heard of these things before. Total scam, something you'd expect from a fly-by-night used car dealer.

I did mention it in the follow up survey I received a few days later.

Thank you April.     Yes, we have done many late night/early morning munchies at the Chicken or the Egg too.

today is mostly cloudy and was quite chilly on the beach so we just went for another bike ride.    I think we are over 10 miles today. Going to read on my deck and try to catch whatever UV rays I can before we have to get ready for Howards French Fried Lobster tonight.  They have the best Lobster Bisque too!

Enjoy your day😃

Pictures Please .

I have to be careful. My level of compassion has already been brought into question.

That’s because they don’t know you.

For my Birthday breakfast we went to the Chicken and Egg - they are really expanding and have taken over almost the whole block (main dining room, new dining room on one side, then on other side is a new take out section then at corner is a pizza parlor to open soon.

Then rode our bikes down to Holgate and wandered around a bit, now back home and getting ready for the beach.     Clouds are rolling in - I'm not happy about that as I love my Sunshine😃

Happy Birthday.

Our local Subaru dealership is the same.  My colleague found a Subaru specialist mechanic who services her cars, our two cars and other colleagues Subarus for significantly less than what the dealership onsite service team charge and he does a much more thorough job too.

Micheline's old Acura dealer suggested a service that they said wasn't urgent but was recommended.  Can't remember what it was but might have been brake pads.  We told them we'd wait.  Mysteriously, when she took her car in for service a year later, they didn't mention anything at all about the need for this recommended service.  The issue must have fixed itself. 🙄

DH who never grocery shops, decided he was making chicken wraps for dinner last night.  I warned him that there are zero bags of mixed lettuce leaves at the supermarket and that lettuce is expensive right now due to the current shortage.

He comes back and advises there was only a few “really weird” bags of salad  left and he happily bought a $6 iceberg lettuce.

I usually alternate between going to a dealership and a local mechanic about 5 minutes from my house.  When I buy a new car, the first couple of years I take it to the dealer just to keep the warranty from being voided or in case I bought a "lemon". As the years go on and more of the typical wear-and-tear items need to be maintained, it goes to the local mechanic.

Ah, she must've had those new, magical brake pads that regenerate themselves the more you drive. 😅
