This link provides some insight to the costs of mothballing ships different ways.

https://thepointsguy.com/news/cruise-lines-could-store-ships-months-coronavirus/

Rough numbers, but 2 million a month to park a ship, but keep it operational,  vs 1 million a month to shut one down and maintain a skeleton crew.  Or something like that.

The unfortunate thing about this jumbled cruise schedule is that for the first time ever the stars were aligned to where we were able to book 5 TA's this year. Previously, the most we could get in were 3. Oh well....

We are still holding out some hope for the Allure Nov 1 and the Jewel  after that. As has been reported on here, both are sheltering in place in Europe.

The Vision is parked off of Barbados

That sounds like a lot of planning! How does that work?

agreed!

We are 2 couples booked on the same b2b...after 3 weeks all four of us are professionals, we NEED to get back to work, a quarantine is out of the question... I would really like answers or at least what they hope to be their plan... of course, not to mention the money tied up in this trip

still, this is an epic bucket list trip for us, still hope to go

Still booked on Oct Med and TA for Allure.   Any 14 day quarantine front or back would be a deal killer.  I hope the decision to cancel ir not will be made for us before forced at final payment.

We're booked on both Allure sailings, too!  Yes, a decision prior to final payment would be helpful; sooner would be even better.  It would be our 8th cancellation.. but still hoping to  cruise somewhere when it's safe to do so.

My lovely wife is a cruise planning savant. We did the Allure and got back home. March 13. We were set to go on Princess to The British Isles( and continue around Ireland and Scotland) leaving today as it turns out. Then the Vision out of Barcelona in August I think.  Then the Allure again Nov 1 and then the Jewel from Civi back to Galveston. We thought we were lucky with so many late and early TA's....Oh well

Not really, it was a slow news day at that web site: https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/22809-when-royal-caribbean-ships-may-start-sailing-again.html

and they just listed what has been on RCI's schedule since it came out a long time ago. Nothing new there.

Even better is the DW, has spent maybe 30 minutes total working on the castle in the middle.  So, usually we are 1 to 3 rooms apart.  Not sure she has the patience required.  And it was her idea.
