Absolutely, I will be getting the vaccine as soon as it is deemed safe by my personal doctors.  The risks of dying from the vaccine after being extensively tested in 3 phased trials are far less than the risk of dying from covid-19.

I also am a firm believer that the due to the world wide consequences of this pandemic, it should be required to cruise, go to school, fly, vacation, especially schools and cruising with mass people in close quarters. And no religious or personal exemptions, only medical exemptions by recognized medical personnel that are licensed to prescribe medications. No exemptions from the local chiropractor or other health professionals.

Right now I agree with you, might change my mind down the road but if a vaccine becomes available, then yes, in  order to do some things proof of a vaccination should be required and if you can't or won't get one, then that is your choice but certain things will be off limits, at least or a while.

Retired from Pharmacy and in my seventies. Would I get vaccinated against Covid-19 YES, and not just to cruise.

I signed up for the Covid-19  vaccine trials just as my parents did for me so I could get the trial vaccination against Polio.

My older sisters both contracted Polio before I was born and I didn't.

Many Doctors - but just saw a video from Dr. Carrie Madej warning on Covid vaccine on Youtube.  She's worried because she's never seen a vaccine being fastracked so much they are skipping testing on animals and going right to humans.  There's a lot of other concerns that I won't go into, but you can watch the video and make your own decision.  Just hope the vaccine isn't required if it happens.

Sorry, but she is nothing but an Anti-Vaxxer spreading lies.

Her first lie where she states there has been NO animal testing in the Pre-Clinical phase, and she goes on from there.

The tests no in Phase THREE have more than 100,000 volunteers in all types of test trials.

We will get it when it’s available although it might be a long time before we cruise again. You can get the virus anytime anyplace.

If the vaccine they develop gives you immunity you would not get the flu, even if exposed to it.

1976 Swine Flu vaccine. Look it up. Looking back, there was no need for it in the first place......

Fears from the 1970s

The 1976 vaccine caused around 10 cases per million vaccinated. Even ordinary flu vaccines, however, are thought to cause one extra case of Guillain-Barré per million, in addition to the 10 to 20 per million who get Guillain-Barré some other way every year.

Does this mean it is safer not getting vaccinated? Absolutely not. First, there is the risk of swine flu killing you. Second, what few people know is that flu itself is far more likely to cause Guillain-Barré than any flu vaccine.

A 2009 study found that out of every million people who get flu, between 40 and 70 develop Guillain-Barré. So your best chance of avoiding Guillain-Barré is to get vaccinated, a conclusion backed by a 2007 study.

AND AS FAR AS GUILLAIN-BARRE syndrome goes...Most people eventually make a full recovery from Guillain-Barré syndrome, but this can sometimes take a long time and around 1 in 5 people have long-term problems. The vast majority of people recover within a year. A few people may have symptoms again years later, but this is rare.

No. From what I understand the vaccine will be very different, it permanently alters your genetic makeup in some way. I don't feel one can trust those involved these days compared to the days when the polio vaccine was developed.

It does not alter your genetic material. It teaches your cells to defend against the RNA component in the virus which makes it unable to replicate and make you sick.  There are different types of vaccines being developed, but the RNA one is doing very, very well.    The vaccines being developed are also using data and research from the SARS outbreak from over 15 years ago.

Where in the world did you get that?  Seriously, where did you find that little tidbit?

This is exactly how conspiracy theories start. A person with no scientific knowledge hears the word RNA and all of a sudden spreads rumors that something is going to permanently alter your genetic makeup.  Those that do not follow science all say AHA and further spread the conspiracy theory until the unscientific believe its truth.

How do you know what is fake news and what is not?

1) I read actual science such as scientific, peer reviewed journals. Not conspiracy theory websites.

2) I have 2 family members working on one of the RNA vaccines so first hand knowledge.

It will take me a few years after seeing how people are responding to these vaccines.  I am in no hurry to do anything right now.

A few years?  I don't think I'm willing to wait that long to start traveling again. Not to sound moribund, but never know ultimately if any of us even has a few years. Who knows what could come along in the meantime. I'm as cautious as anybody with this masking / social distancing, etc. but I prefer not to live a significant portion of what may remain of the rest of my life worrying about getting this virus.

Hell NO! Not putting something that is not proven safe in me.

And yet people do things all the time like smoke, not exercise, and eat junk food - all things that are proven to be not conducive to good health. Life is full of so many risks that we have no control over. I'd volunteer for a vaccine trial.

It will take me a few years after seeing how people are responding to these vaccines.  I am in no hurry to do anything right now.

And what do you do between now and a few years to not catch C19?  Are you willing to live the way we are for another 1-2-3-4 years?  Not me.

I'll take my "chances" with a vaccine.

Yes that’s fine. I am living normally no stupid masks no social distances. Still have live music. We have had a total of 56 cases of covid and 0 deaths here. So I will take my chances. But you do what you have to. I am just saying I am not the lab rat.

Sounds like us canadians ( 3 ) are not so trusting of a new vaccine and wont be the first in line to check it out .

I have never gotten a flu shot , so i think i wont be getting this one either .

I can wait this virus out and dont have the need to cruise anytime soon.

I wont be on a cruise ship for years until this thing settles down.

For those that cant wait to cruise i wish you good luck with the vaccine

and happy cruising.
