Hi sisters Ann and Denise. Ann your little twins are now tweens. Denise, we toasted to @erewhon at Happy Hour last night for giving time and talents to delivering meals.

Denise - the twins visited yesterday & they are nowofficially teenagers, no spots, and at least one has antler bumps. I was in the pool, so no pic.

🌺🌺 GOOD MORNING TO MY SISTERS NOT IN CRIME BUT IN CRUISING!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for not being in the loop yesterday!
David and I had a lot going on and by the time I settled into a relaxed mode it was quite late!!

erewhon is the best!! Another hero behind the scenes delivering meals to the needy.

I hope I have the honor of meeting him in beautiful New Zealand when we visit again! Roy was lucky to have met him on his works travels!👍

🌺 Joy David just showed me the Doppler with the storm!!!!!!! Prayers to all with this nasty hurricane PLEASE BE SAFE JOY AND ALLEN! So something must enjoy the nectar in your hummingbird feeder?

🌺Ann! So happy our little babies are now

teenagers!! I have learned a lot about those little guys from you and our dear

Jacqui the good (ANGELS) and the bad eating those beautiful gardens of hers!

Thanks for the notation on the wine but I think this one I will pass!

🥂🥂Tonight’s toasting will be to everyone OUR NEW FRIENDS ON THIS BOARD AND TO ALL OF OUR FAITHFULS! God bless all stay safe and to all and I care

for everyone!

Some pics of Volendam's bridge with the chief officer (the term used prior to the current staff captain title) going over the elec charts in some wild waters off beautiful New Zealand while heading from Picton (where I had the pleasure of meeting up with poster Erewhon and the Mrs. - Kia ora) to Tauranga. The panel in the foreground is the starboard bridge wing panel from where the ship can be "parked" alongside. Carefully looked after plants can usually be found on the bridge, as well as mascots 😉  Every morning at 10:30, the bridge team (all nautical dept officers) gets together on the bridge for "coffee time," usually followed by a "BRM" - Bridge Resources Management" meeting to discuss the particulars of the next port of call

Good morning all!  Rich, great selection of days.  When our daughter was a teenager some of her friends called us the "National Park couple" because apparently (?) they thought we went to a lot of national parks lol.  I guess we've been to about 1/3 of them,  went to Yosemite for our honeymoon, and will be in two next month (one new one for us).  My photo today is from our most recent trip to Yellowstone last year with our little guys. They both became Junior Rangers.

Not crazy about banana splits but adore Peanut Buster Parfaits ....of course those things are lethal so having one is a huge treat!  @StLouisCruisers I too gained only 20 pounds with my first pregnancy but back then doctors were urging low weight gain.  Go figure.  Our son was 9 pounds 6 oz anyway, and I ate whatever I wanted.  Oh to be that young again!

Joy I loved the jokes for today, and as always thank you Rich for the Daily and Roy for the Care List.

Volendam's "O.B." (Officers Bar) on A-Deck, all decked out for breakfast. The O.B.'s on the various HAL ships become the focal point of social gathering at night for those who have officer status. The O.B. has a dedicated bartender, surprisingly always an Indonesian, not a Filipino, and it closes shop, similar to most adult beverage shore establishments, at 2:00 AM. One of the most popular activities in the O.B. at night is a game of darts with all levels of expertise. They also have a jukebox with the latest hits (no currency deposits needed). The O.B. is often used in the daytime for a fire drill debrief location as well as for other training lectures.

Amazing aircraft! Refills its water tanks by skimming in flight over a body of water like a nearby lake or reservoir. Down here in L.A. County, the county fire department "rents" two + crew from Quebec each year for the wildfire season

Thank you for these great pictures of the Bridge. In the days before 9/11/01 we could get tours of the bridge at the right price.

Petty officer cabin on Volendam's B-Deck, used by the 2nd security officer (moi) during the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. The ship was chartered out by Aussies, Kiwis and Springboks for that world cup, so the thought was a second SECO might have been needed 😉 No major issues encountered however; everyone behaved and the "All Blacks" won the cup 🙂  Got to see my first two rugby games in Auckland and Wellington; great experience!

Thank you for the daily! Always enjoy a banana with breakfast. One of our dear SILs, who happened to be in Southern California for a business meeting, golf and fishing (he lives in Seattle), surprised us with fresh blue fin tuna caught Sunday, west of San Clemente and Catalina Islands. He found us last evening on the front patio, enjoying happy hour in the great outdoors. What a great start to the week! 🎣  A vegetable platter will complete the meal.  Thank you!

It  was  so  nice   to  see  all  of   the  ship  pictures   as   well   as the   sunrises, sunsets  and   flowers.  My  family  tells   me   I  am   seriously   cranky   since   I  have   not   been   on   a  ship  in   almost  two  years(wah). I  really   appreciate   the   warm   welcome  from  all   and   will   now   have   to  get  busy   figuring   out   how   to  post  a  picture. Please   be   safe   everyone.

Good morning, thanks for the Daily!  I think I'm going to stop apologizing for my tardiness; having these two little ones in the house makes a morning routine go right out the window, and I'm not complaining one bit!   DH and I rarely argue, never have, so we don't have to kiss and make up today, but I do think we will celebrate National (or International) Banana Split Day today - that might be a fun thing to do with the grandsons for dessert tonight.  I'm thinking after the 5 year old finishes making and helping to eat one, we might just have to walk him through a car wash to get all the sticky syrup off!

Not sure what's on the menu tonight - DS said he's going to figure out something, rather than us cooking all the time . . . you think I'm going to argue with that?  LOL  Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be good.  And wine.

Prayers for all who need them, and even for those who don't think they do.  Welcome to all the newcomers and happy for the celebrations that are on everyone's lists.  Be safe, stay well.

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Good morning, all, and thank you, Rich for the daily news, and Roy, for the Care List.  Pat is feeling a bit better, but I think this is going to take some time before he is his old self.  He went to the doctor yesterday and has been referred for physiotherapy.

@cat shepard, forest floor sounds good, too.  Makes me think of Cathedral Grove here on the island, on the way to Tofino, or the wonderful redwoods of California.  California is having a bad time right now - my cousin in Woodside is under evacuation notice, and another cousin in Walnut Hill is getting papers, etc., in order in case they have to go, too.  Here we have grab-and-go bags ready always, in case of earthquake, but the thought of fire nearby makes me quake!

@Copper10-8, interesting to see a modern bridge - here's what I think it should look like! (Queen Mary)
