Thanks for this information! I'm thinking about booking the 14 night, but concerned about the cost of the flight from Atl. I wonder if a direct flight from Charlotte would be a lot less. Any guess?

Sorry , I’m not familiar with pricing on the US airlines and from different cities...definitely worth checking though.

I just booked the Feb 20 14 night cruise in a 2 BR Grand Suite (aft).  So very happy with this booking !  They offered a resident discount, a balcony discount and a casino discount.  I think it was a GREAT price for a 14 night 2 BR GS.

Even if you ARE in the eastern half of the US !  There is only 1 non-stop flight out of Miami on AA.  The rest of the flights go through Charlotte and are 20+ hours !  So you know the flights are going to  fill up FAST.  I will book my air the same day the flights go on the market.  Who knows....maybe by next year they will increase the capacity.

Here are the cities that will be offering direct flights to Barbados as well as the Hotels that Royal has partnered with offering 2-7 night stays.

Departure  time in Barbados is not until 10pm allowing for later flights and more time for connections.

I jumped on CP and booked an aft JS around 1230 on Wednesday when I saw the announcement on Vicki's weekly travel advisors webinar.  Got a great rate for a really interesting new itinerary.  When I booked, there were already a fair number of booked/unavailable cabins.  Part of the announcement is that Royal has partnered with several airlines to add capacity on Sundays for the Barbados departures.  As noted above, the ship will depart at 10 PM which gives more time for same day flights. Fares are only available 11 months out so just becoming available for the first December sailings.

I just saw RCI will be offering this itinerary from Barbados as well:

7 Night “Southern Caribbean Explorer” with stops at Scarborough, Tobago; Port of Spain, Trinidad; St. George’s, Grenada; Kingstown, St. Vincent; Roseau, Dominica; and Castries, St. Lucia.

will be looking into this further.

Hi sorry to butt in but have done many cruises, and stay and cruises from Barbados over the years with Marella cruises part of the TUI group, it  has been very successful for many years doing four flights a week on Sundays using the Dreamliner or the 767 , the ships the older Vision class Splendour and legend now DISCOVERY 1 and 2 I know you cannot pick your ship of choice but those vision class are just the right size believe me.

flying into Barbados is so easy  no going through customs straight of the aircraft ,embark on to coach strait to the cruise ship, your cases 20kg or 22 are bonded at airport and you won,t see them until you go to your cabin, you go through emigration at the end of your cruise , cases they are bonded again and you will see them on the carousel once back home, have visited all of the Islands and are all wonderful and have there own little charm.

Also mentioned on that call was within 2 months you would be able to book flights through A2S  for the listed cruises through to April....more than 11 months out.

I just booked for feb 6th sailing.  Awesome itinerary.   Going to call back and book b2b this afternoon.

Looks like flights are available out of newark for non stop or phl with connecting flight in miami.  Will figure that out when new flight schedules post in a couple months.

I'm really excited with this new port option and exploring some new islands.

We have sailed Grandeur out of baltimore several times and enjoy this size ship.

I am all booked on the 14 night Ultimate Caribbean.  Got an inside guarantee at a fantastic price for a solo.  My TA was told that I can add flights in April but will need to fly to Mainland Great Britain from Ireland as they are only offering from Manchester and London.

But as long as I am on a cruise...in the Caribbean...I don't care!!

If anyone is setting up a Roll Call for the 14 nighter, please post the link 🙂

I also just booked Feb 6....got the last aft-facing J4 junior suite on Deck 7.  Can't believe how fast those sold out!  Are you going to start the roll call?  😄

Thanks...

It's too early for me to get pricing for the flight, so I checked the same days a few months earlier just to get an idea. That was very expensive and one stop. Charlotte may work out a lot better. I'll try that later. Thanks again!

As of right now all of the suites are sold out for the 14 night Feb 20 sailing except for 1 GS.  Those went quick !

Wow, that was fast - a great itinerary at a fantastic price departing from a nice port!  Glad you got your desired 2BR GS at a great price.

I did call this afternoon to book the b2b for the ABC islands for feb 13th.   I was thrilled the same JS on deck 8 was available.

I was at work all day and did not get a chance to see if roll call has been started.  Did you happen to check?

Looks like it will be lots of fun exploring some of the new islands.

I tend to agree with Ken on this one. I would speculate that one reason could be that Barbados was very very helpful to the Cruise Lines during the peak of the pandemic with the repatriation of crew and allowing ships to dock. I recall an Aida ship Captain that was very thankful for how Barbados helped them while other ports denied them entry. IMO, I am happy for them that Cruise Lines are rewarding them for their help during some very difficult times.
Also, the itineraries look great.

Absolutely this. A lot of crew over on the crew groups I'm on are very happy and supportive about this, that Barbados will be getting some $$ at the same time that royal gets to top of their dollar too.

There's a lot of crew that will be forever thankful to Barbados for their support, love and effort in getting them home.
