Exciting news isn't it.have. Have already been in touch with my casino rep to start booking.

I thought we were doing great getting the Eclipse down here, big bonus with the Edge.  Ive cancelled my OS cruises and decided to cruise closer to home for a while.

Hopefully the AU and NZ borders will be open by then.

Someone on our Roll Call for  30/07/22 cruise to the zMediterranean, from Southampton, is from Australia. They are doing B2B2B, so they will be 🙏that the borders are open.

Maybe this is a little teaser? Her next 'career milestone' is God Mother and take out a brand new ship. I would be 0% shocked if she was the first Captain to sail Beyond.

Beyond sails from Southampton next April to Europe, and Captain Kate has said she can’t take Bug to Europe. So, she can’t be the first Captain.

Bummer, I was hoping to have her on Beyond....

Though Beyond sails from Southampton, it's only the 1st sailing (Southampton to Barcelona), and then it will alternate between Barcelona and Rome.

If it's only the quarantine for pets in UK, may be she can join in Barcelona......

We also hope our borders and those of our neighbours are open before then!

We have booked December 2022 and March 2023. Although at this stage the Roll Calls are quite sparse, there are folks from UK, US and Canada booked as well as Australians.

She has sailed Europe before, I guess she leaves him back in the US during her time there.

Where will the Edge come from on the front end and leave to on the back end of this season?

Also any idea as to how popular these sailings are going to be and how quickly rates might increase?  Am thinking of doing a B2B since that area is on my bucket list and would wait to book while we are on the Apex in January, but if rates jump exponentially in the first 3 months before our Apex cruise, then it would behoove to book ASAP.

Is there any sign of a second joining edge during this time? I know in the past people have reported seeing ships scheduled into the various Australian ports before the actual announcement was made.  When to Australia and New Zealand Cruises normally get announced?

EDGE will most likely be in the Mediterranean for Summer 2023.  She would get to Australia by transiting the Suez Canal and going via India, Singapore, Indonesia, etc.  There will more than likely be a few repositioning voyages for sale to get her there (example Rome to Dubai, Dubai to Singapore, Singapore to Sydney).

After her stint in Aus/NZ for Fall 2023 - Spring 2024 she will most likely do what other Australia based ships do and offer a Transpacific repositioning cruise from Sydney to either Vancouver or Seattle via Hawaii to sail to Alaska for Summer 2024.  If she goes direct to Seatlle it would be sold as one voyage.  If she goes to Vancouver first (not sure if she can fit under the Lions Gate Bridge or not) than they would sell a Sydney-Honolulu and Honolulu-Vancouver segment.

Pre Pandemic Celebrity was to have two ships based in Australia seasonally - one from Sydney and the other from Melbourne.  I suspect either Eclipse or Solstice to end up in Melbourne and offer a season from there.

Bummer -- but good for the Aussies!! We love the Edge and although Apex and Beyond will most likely be US based in winter (and/or E-class #4 or #5), their prices will be higher than Edge would have been. Oh well, I am tempted to ditch my Ovation 4/2023 TP and wait another year and possibly do Edge, although the TP cruise restrictions may have some say in that. I will definitely look at the Edge repo's in 2023/2024. Might have a bucket list cruise on there.

If Celebrity puts two ships out there, it won't be Solstice as she is committed to the Asia itineraries.

Likely Kate will join Beyond after the ship was reopositioned to the Med or by the latest when Edge will head towards Australia in autumn 2023.

That will be great, for me 😉

BTW, it's been 2 weeks since she left for her 3 months vacation, and not a word from her....

Usually, she posts as she leaves the ship, at the airport, during the flight, her house ...

This time -- nada.

I just hope that everything is OK with her.

They could easily swap her with Eclipse as both sail Alaska itineraries in Summer and would do a transpacific repositioning - that said Eclipse is more likely candidate as she usually summers in Vancouver and can easily do Vancouver-Hawaii, Hawaii-Australia in 2 segments.  Celebrity (and parent Royal Caribbean) does not like marketing/selling cruises of more than 14-16 days if they don't have to.

My 2022 TP was canceled, so I am left without many Down Under memories except those from hiking in NZ; however, I want the TP schedule from Sydney to Honolulu.  Maybe it will be forthcoming in early November...I can hope!  The price will probably make my forehead cringe, but I am going for a suite again!  I am so on "edge" with all of this new information, as life just hasn't been the same without my Celebrity friends, crew, captains and the world being open...

We booked a four cruise series for Australia/New  Zealand for the spring of 2023.  We considered adding the TP as the final leg, but there is very limited availability on that sailing.  My memory is that only insides and oceanview staterooms are available.
