We are taking a reposition Panama Canal cruise from FL to Seattle in Apr on the Eurodam. Do many people wear Hawaiian Shirt on the ship?

Perhaps you are referring to Aloha Shirts?

A good one (e.g., Reyn Spooner) would be reasonable in any tropical location and afficianados would shoot you a broad grin for your good taste.

But, if you’re talking about a cheap Hilo Hattie (or ABC Store) polyester one, you’ll stick out like a sore thumb.

Interesting.  The Spooner's shirts are polyester blend and now made in SE Asia.   Hilo Hattie's cotton aloha shirts are made in Hawaii.  Sounds like logo/brand silliness.

Yes, I should’ve clarified: “vintage” Spooner. I’ve got a nice small collection of some classic Alohas including from Spooner’s artists’ series of old.
I also have some older Tori Richard ones (among my favorites is a silk  “Don The Beachcomber” shirt)

Very cool to have and be a collector!  I remember those old style kind of inside-out looking finishes.  Maybe they still have them, IDK.

Since retirement DH wears the silk blend tropical shirts.  His are more in the Mexican wedding shirt variety - same fit, fewer flowers.  He gets many compliments.

I have a couple barongs -- similar but different country.

My Dad's family is from Panama, and all the men wear Guayaberas -- never Hawaiian shirts.

I do .As long as a shirt does not have offensive writing it should not matter what one wears.

Aaah, but "offensive" is a subjective notion.  Without a recognized shirt police force it is absurd to just say as long as writing is not "offensive" it is OK on a shirt.

As long as it signifies the era before “open enrollment.”

BS ‘67

I graduated two years before you.My wife graduated one year before you.

The only way we could possibly have known you was if we majored in the same course of study or if we were involved with the same extra curricular activity.
