There was 6400 passengers on board but the ship is huge 227,000 tons and it seemed quiet.

There is so much to do.

We saw an amazing ice skating show.

The Aqua show is stunning.

We both went on the Carousel 🎠 on the boardwalk.

There is a rock climbing wall, water slides, flow rider, golf putting green,a zip wire etc.

The Royal promenade has a great assortment of shops, bars and eating area's including Starbucks, Sorrento's pizza, cafe promenade.

I booked the ultimate dining package so we dined every night in Speciality restaurants and had lunch in the speciality restaurants on sea days.

We dined 3 night in Giovanni's.

3 nights in 150 Central Park and 1 night in Chops Grill.

These 3 restaurants are all in the lovely Central Park.

All of my food photos came from the speciality restaurants.

Sounds great but too big for us. While on the ship which area code were y’all in 😀

Back from getting lab work done and have eaten lunch.... feeling almost human. Now to wait for results which will probably come in this afternoon. @cruzn singleWelcome back to Colorado. Sorry about the VOG and your resulting health issues. Don't overdo and remember you are now back at a higher elevation.

@grapau27Sounds like a great cruise, but I am not sure I could handle that large a ship.

The ship is enormous. Fortunately we are Diamond plus loyalty and had 4 days free unlimited zoom WiFi between us and I arranged worldwide coverage with my UK phone operator so we could use our phones all of the time.

Good morning all,

It was rough night last night. Felt like fireworks going off in my hand. I did break down and take some of the pain medicine and it’s much better. I don’t know why we’re so stubborn and resistant to taking medicine but as we get older, we do get more worried.

I will keep this short, but I want to wish well to all those who are suffering and I hope everyone has a wonderful vacation who are off sailing the seas.

I am the same way on pain meds and then I remembered DH’s words - You have to get on top of the pain.  Glad you took them and please take them at the first sign of pain.  If you are in pain, you can’t risk and heal.

Yesterday I talked with my doctor, it was sobering.  She's concerned, and said that it's possible my kidneys were damaged permanently and may never get better....She did agree that it's likely whatever I had in early December is the cause -- that plus the meds I'm on.  I have an appointment to see her early Monday morning to talk more.  Meanwhile I'm to stop one of my Diabetes meds and cut a blood pressure med in half.  And continue drinking lots and lots of water of course.  Trying to stay positive, but to tell the truth this has thrown me for a loop.

Oh my - I am sure that news has thrown you for a loop - to put it mildly.

Hopefully your kidneys will not worsen and together you can resolve the issue to at leas stabilize it.  Take care 🙏🏻

Ok, here are the test results.  There is an 8mm nodule in one lung, and a 4mm nodule in the other, there is a small adrenal gland tumor, and a cyst in one kidney.  Dr. K is sending me to a pulmonologist, he said we might need to worry, but as it is,  all is fine, he just wants me with the right doctor, to get his opinion.  So I guess until I get a BAD report then I can be taken off the lists now.  DH said it isnt good but with my cough he thought it was going to be a much worse story.

Oh my - I don’t like the sound of this at all 😔 So glad that your doctor is referring you and hopefully the news will be good 🙏🏻

Sitting here starving.... I have a lab appointment later this morning and fasting is required.

Ugh - I HATE fasting.  Hope your blood work was on time and quick and you got to enjoy a nice brunch after 🤞

Hopefully what is being watched turn out a.o.k.  🙏🏻

But during the early part of my trip, the air quality was quite bad, thanks to the VOG.  Air traffic patterns were even altered into/out of Oahu during the first 10-12 days.  Thanks to that situation, my already compromised lungs got a big dose of bad air!  Though I had a cold, although I tested negative several times for C-19!  After I returned to the mainland, things got progressively worse!  Ended up in the ER last Sunday, and follow-up with doc on Monday.  Very bad exacerbation of my lung problems.  I tested negative for C-19, RSV, Influenza A&B, and no pneumonia.  So, after 6 days of strong antibiotics and high prednisone doses, I think I will live!  I was aching up into my shoulders from the extreme coughing!

You poor thing 😞. I’m glad that the meds helped.  Sounds horrible 😔

Finally at 12:30 am I sent a message to guest services and let them have it. My main point is they gave us the worst cabin on the ship next to mid ship gangway and that it sounded like a freight train or sometimes a subway platform all night last night. I told the I paid for my balcony, my bathtub and peace and quiet. Not a message from guest services. I told them their skimpy renumeration was pitiful.

That’s deplorable 😡. I know they might not have many empty rooms but to not respond and work to get you back in your cabin is just plain bad. Grrr 😡

I'm back from appointments. GI thinks I'm doing pretty well, with reduced stomach complaints. Rheumatology also gave a fairly good report since my eye flares are about once a month and my hand joints have quieted after skipping that one dose of medication in November. I'll get an injection for my hip bursa, but there wasn't time today, so I have to go back.

Sounds encouraging Vanessa.  Hope the injection helps you 🙏🏻

@Cruising-along Hopefully your doctor will have a plan to stabilize the kidneys; does she want you to see a Nephrologist? I'm sure this is all hard to take in.

Thank you Vanessa.  I don't know, but would think she will.  I guess I'll find out on Monday.

Well I could have finished the painting today, but the dentist can squeeze me in at 2:30 to take a look at these stubborn stitches.  So I have one more wall to paint -- that should go fast tomorrow. 🙂

Good morning all!

Today will get clear up to 50 degrees F, and no rain!  I could hear birds singing when I got up this morning.  Spring is coming!

I own 2 umbrellas but rarely use them.  There's a saying around here in "rain country" -- you can tell the tourists, they're the ones with umbrellas. 😄 Seriously though we do use them occasionally but I prefer just putting up the hood of my rain coat.

I don't own any flannel, prefer sweat shirts and layers.  Never have played cribbage.  Love Lily Tomlin!  Will pass on the drink and wine, most of the recipes sound delicious -- and yes, Debbie @dfishI will pass on those with cilantro!  🤣 The others sound good though.

Today I'll start painting the entryway downstairs.  Yesterday I only got so far as prepping and taping the walls.  Also have to call the dentist, because on day 10 the stitches are still in my lip.  That doesn't seem right.  They aren't the dissolvable type, but he said they could come out as early as a few days.

Maxine @AncientWandererI sure hope you don't have what I had, and you'll be feeling better soon.  Mine was all intestinal, is yours?

Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiserthank you for posting your and Sandi's @StLouisCruisersvery interesting photos.

Lorraine @cruising sisterI'm sorry you had such a bad night.  That sounds so painful!  Glad you got some pain relief.

Sending you our prayers 🙏 and best wishes.

It seems I've been busy all day, but I'm not sure what I accomplished.  With the sun out and the temperature at 48F, I braved the wind to walk to the mailbox and back.  It wasn't too bad except when I was heading directly into the wind.  The pizza crust dough is rising and all the meat and veggies are cut, thawed or otherwise ready to be added.  If you haven't guessed, we like a loaded pizza.

Good evening friends.

We have just got home after our 14 night vacation.

We had a 7 night Caribbean cruise on RCL Oasis of the Seas visiting

Coco cay RCL private island in the Bahamas.

Cozumel Mexico.

Roatan Honduras.

Costa Maya Mexico.

We also had several nights pre and post cruise in a lovely hotel on South beach Miami.

Graham.

Welcome home, Graham.  It sounds like you had an amazing cruise.  Some of the activities and restaurants sound great, but I think that ship is just too big for us.

Just got back.from our long day of shore excursion. I was thinking we would return to a  blinking message light.  Not so. John was so optimistic he carried his bag up there this morning and headed straight up to our cabin. Nope still on Dolphin deck. Last night something was protruding from the hull because our cabin was 5 times as loud as it was crossing the Drake Passage.

Our shore excursion was great. Punta del Este is beautiful and we had a great lunch that started rocky due to crowding that could have been handled better but they fixed it with a lot of good food and wine.

Thanks for the Daily Reports and for our Care list. Prayers for all needing them, the people of Ukraine and Roy, Jacqui,.Tana and Kathi. Photos maybe later have a Tamarind pop up.at 5:30 and another early long day tomorrow.  Nancy

Nancy, I can't believe they did not respond to your message when obviously the substitute cabin has so many issues.  I'm glad the shore excursion was good.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Thank you for the photos from Gambia and posting Sandi's photos; it makes us realize how much we all have here.

@cruising sister You had surgery! Don't try to tough it out without taking some pain medication.

@tupper10 Good to hear that the epidural is helping. Prayers that your son only needs antibiotics.

@Cruising-along Hopefully your doctor will have a plan to stabilize the kidneys; does she want you to see a Nephrologist? I'm sure this is all hard to take in.

@marshhawk Good that your doctor is sending you to a specialist about the lung nodules. Have you heard anything about Fern?

@cruzn single Welcome back to the Daily. Sorry to hear about the air quality in Hawaii and it's effect on your lungs. Feel better!

@0106 Great photo!

@Cruzin Terri Nice photo and I'm glad you got sunglasses. Sorry to hear the rough seas may interfere with your itinerary.

@Seasick Sailor I'm glad you're getting some help with the cleaning. Rest up until you leave.

@grapau27 Welcome home. Thanks for the photos from your vacation.

@ottahand7 So sorry you're still not in your cabin, and all the issues with the one they put you in. I'm glad your shore excursion was good, at least.

Vanessa, I'm happy you got pretty good reports from you doctors.  It seems you are doing all the right things.

We had an amazing cruise then a hotel stay in South beach Miami Lenda.

The ship felt reasonably empty even with 6400 passengers on board.

We never felt any movement whatsoever.

I videoed this on the carousel.

We were sitting on a chair.

Pauline did get on one of the horses but I couldn't with my arthritis.

Good evening friends!  Just a short post to say we had an uneventful drive down and it took less time today - 11 hours. Light rain every once in a while up north but abundant sunshine down here. I’ve tried to catch up on the Daily but wow lots going on today.  Thanks to all for helping post today so the Daily can continue.  Prayers for all in need of them, a toast to those celebrating and welcome home to a few of you.  Thanks for posting my photos today Lenda@Quartzsite Cruiser and thanks to Graham@grapau27for your vacation photos too.  Sky Princess is supposedly leaving tomorrow at 3:30 ish and I plan on waving my arm off at the PTZ camera from my port side balcony. 3 decks above the tenders (Caribe deck) and about 4 balconies forward of the first tender. My twin and cruising buddy Susan will probably be watching. Join me!  PS I waved at Ann and Charlene on 95 today too!👋

Seriously, Sandi, thank you for checking in.

Glad your ride was uneventful. There have been warnings about heavy smoke from wildfires South of Daytona limiting visibility on I-95, and I could smell the smoke when I left the gym today.

Many thanks to everyone that keeps this delightful thread going! Prayers raised for all who need them and cheers for those who are celebrating and/or heading out on a BHB. I won't get my turn until July...

Today was interesting -- I retired on May 1, 2014 after 41 years but sadly my DMIL died on April 30. I went into the office on May 1 and just threw stuff into boxes, just to get cleared out. Since then the boxes have sat in my home office untouched. I decided that today was the day! My goodness, what a blast from the past! All my official performance reviews (of course I was always outstanding - not!), pictures and all sorts of memories. There's been enough separation that I can throw most of it away, now, without regret. And I have more space in the office now!!! I'm not done yet -- to be continued!

No more purple stitches in my mouth!! They said I was very patient to leave them in there so long and were surprised they were still hanging in there. I didn’t tell them I’ve had more pressing matters this week!

And here are the newest members of our family! DD just brought them home. The boys will be thrilled when they get home from school.
