Good morning and thank you for the Report.

Cold and cloudy here today.  I noticed lots of candy wrappers when Bertie and I went for a walk yesterday. 😉

I didn't know it was "men make dinner day", I'm going to do a spatchcock chicken as suggested yesterday.  Jim will make dinner tomorrow.  🤞  I'll pass on today's meal suggestion.  The drink sounds good for a warm summer day, I hope the wine is good.

Prayers for everyone.  I hope there are lots of celebrations.

Have a good day.  Stay safe.

Good morning dailyites as we approach St Lucia.

We had a very good meal at Canaletto's last night. I had the filet and shrimp,  Suzi had the parm chicken and shrimp.  Neither could finish our meals as the servings were huge.

I gave back half of my Casino winnings last night. 😞 Oh well,  I'm up for the cruise so no complaints.

We are going to Castries this morning, no tours, just walking and shopping.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning friends!  It is all the way down to 30 degrees now!  Today will be sunny again though and about 58F for a high.  I should just be happy with that and bundle up when we have these cold spells.

Thanks to Rich @richwmn for the Fleet Report and Daily.  I see today is All Souls' Day.  Growing up that was the name of our Church, All Souls.  Yesterday was All Saints and my twin's church is named that.  They were celebrating the church's 200th anniversary yesterday with a dinner last night.  Ironic!  It's also Plan your Epitaph Day.  Yikes!  Let's move on.  Hurray for Men Make Dinner Day!  My DH makes dinner almost every night.  Lucky me!   I know for a fact we wouldn't enjoy the Curried Chickpea Stuffed Acorn Squash recipe.  Too many ingredients on our dislike list.  The drink of the day is pretty potent from what I've heard.  No thanks to the pinot noir.  And this day in history was a good one for Indonesia.  Thanks to our Food and Beverage ladies Debbie @dfish and Ann @cat shepard.  Today I'll post the drink recipe for Dixie but on every other day I give my thanks to Dixie @summer slope for taking on describing the drinks.  You are all three appreciated.

Prayers for the Care list individuals and their families, my family and friends in need of them, and all at war as well as hostages.  The news these days is so depressing you can hardly stand to watch it.  Prayers for all!  🙏Hurray for the Celebration list people!  Congrats to the Texas Rangers for winning the World Series. 🥂 I wonder if my newly minted Texas family members are fans already?  Will have to ask!  My thoughts to Graham @grapau27 on your late mam's 12th memory.  She must have been a wonderful woman.  Happy sailing to those on cruises, whether HAL or otherwise.  🚢

The port today is Kochi City, Japan.  It was listed here once on May 31, 2022.  I have not been there before.  Here is the link to that date so you can retrieve your photos from there.  Thanks in advance for taking the time to show us Kochi City!

Hoping all here enjoy their Thursday.  Stay safe and well!

Since Dixie is unavailable this morning, here is the drink of the day for your enjoyment.

Long Island Iced Tea

A Long Island iced tea is a type of alcoholic mixed drink typically made with vodka, tequila, light rum, triple sec, gin, and a splash of cola, which gives the drink the same amber hue as iced tea. A popular version mixes equal parts vodka, tequila, gin, rum, triple sec, with 1+1⁄2 parts sour mix and a splash of cola. Wikipedia

Main alcohol: Vodka, Tequila, Triple sec, Gin, Rum

Ingredients:

1 oz Gomme Syrup

1 oz Lemon juice,

1/2 oz Gin

1/2 oz Tequila

1/2 oz Triple sec,

1/2 oz Vodka

1/2 oz White rum

 splash of Cola

Preparation: Add all ingredients into highball glass filled with ice. Stir gently. Garnish with lemon spiral. Serve with straw.

Served: On the rocks; poured over ice

Standard garnish: Lemon spiral

Drinkware: Highball glass

Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie/Sandi.  I at least "sort of" make dinner most days but will get a reprieve for most of November.  My congregation will be celebrating All Souls Sunday.  Not sure about an epitaph.  Interesting quote by Twain.

I have not been to Kochi.  I would expect some celebration in Indonesia today.

I'll pass on the meal.  My alternative is Chilled Pear, Cucumber, and Melon Gazpacho, Penne Primivera, and Viennese Apple Strudel, the first dinner on my 2017 Prinsedam transatlantic.

Another cold one here today.  Great catch @richwmn on Oosterdam's missed port.

Thanks for our Thursday Daily, Rich

and thanks to Debbie, Dixie, Vanessa & Ann

All Souls’ Day is celebrated by many.  I am hopeful that those I loved and lost are not in purgatory.  It seems appropriate it is accompanied by plan your epitaph.  The only man in this house is Ivan and I am NOT teaching him how to open up the fridge so dinner will be my job 😉

Interesting quote by Twain.  A great day in history for Indonesia.

Another day of appointments.  Fortunately it’s semi-enjoyable today.  Just hair and Ivan’s Bravecto (tick and flea medicine - lasts 90 days).  Why in the cold weather you ask?  Because as soon as we have any kind of a thaw for 3 days the ticks are back out and Lyme disease is a real threat here with all of our deer.

IMG_1609.thumb.jpeg.4cd7de687b523191b295257ea91458d8.jpeg

Then my BFF is meeting me here for lunch and some time together.  I just have to get home in time 😉. Ivan will be happy we are having lunch here and not out, I’m guessing.  He has been very good about all the appointments and the longer than usual absence yesterday especially.  A big change since his first arrival.  Of course I get nothing done when I get home since it’s fetch and attention time.  LOL.  I doubt anyone would know it’s the same dog, actually (in the good way).

Anyone else with too much Hallowe’en stuff left over?

IMG_1116.webp.a449e59324fbbd4eac85de1be6cf15e2.webp

Another too cold day.  Depressing.  It sounds like we are in for very cold temps for the first half of November.  It will be a challenge to clean up the garden but at least it will take care of the hosta leaves.

IMG_1612.jpeg.ef526a301f21fb2a0fb80cbaf9045d30.jpeg

Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, health problems, worries & those that need them 🙏.  Cheers to those celebrating and cruising 🥂

Thank you Rich, thank you Debbie, thank you Vanessa, thank you Ann, and thank you Dixie for all your work. And thank you everyone for being here

After having our phones for five years, we purchased new phones yesterday but it didn't go as smoothly as it should. We are somewhat tech savvy - but! Going from an Android Phone to an I-Phone, but that is not the problem. The lady that was helping us transferred our stored data to the new phones. It was taking twice as long as she had predicted though. Three trips back to the store and it still wasn't completed for both phones when she had completed her day at 5:00 pm. Sue brought the phones home as the lady said they would continue to load overnight.

Here is the problem. The lady has a day off. She loaded my stored data on Sue's phone and vice versa! Sue has my contacts and photos and I have hers. Plus mine doesn't work. So another trip or - three tomorrow to get it straightened out. All because my SIm card stopped working last month on my old phone while on our cruise.

Hope everyone has a great day! Stay Safe, and prayers for those in need.

- Jack

She died 2 month's after her metastatic cancer diagnosis.

Like Pauline's late mam we miss them both dearly every day.

Good morning. It’s 35 degrees outside as we sail into NYC. Believe I will watch from our cabin which at least I will see Lady Liberty. We overnight here so will capture the full surroundings on our early sail away tomorrow afternoon.

Last night”s formal dinner was wonderful. We chose the beef which were individual portions. So tender and delicious. Posted the menu’s on yesterday’s Daily and will post some pics this morning. After dinner we enjoyed the ships singer and dancers as they featured Broadway songs of Sir Tim Rice. He is the consultant to entertainment shows on Seabourn.

We are going to tour the Intrepid (aircraft carrier) museum this morning and cancelled a later lunch. We have had enough food.

Thanks for the reports and have a great day. Bruce

PS. The dessert was really good so I guess it wanted to be seen several times and the extras won’t delete! WiFi has been pretty good all trip and we get here and it is off and on.

Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich!  It is cloudy, very windy and a cool 58 this morning. Last night the winds were really strong when Bindi & I did our bedtime walk.

Vanessa, praying you get some relief from your pain. Thank you for keeping our lists.

If the winds die down, I need to get out and pick up all the debris that the wind has brought down from my trees. Mostly small, dead branches, but sometimes there is a surprise or two. I need to stick close to home this morning while I wait for a County inspector to check the electrical work done last week. Bindi walks, chores, dinner at a neighbor’s will wrap up my day.

Prayers for all who need our support. @smitty34877 Terry happy to read that your boiler was fixed & you were removing layers. Praying for you, Tana, your families & your support teams.

@HAL Sailer, Melissa, praying for you & your DH.  Don’t forget you!

May we each find a reason to smile today.

Long Barn Pinot Noir 2021

This Napa Pinot Noir sounds lovely and it is priced to be a table wine! I used the 2021 vintage info.  Easy to find & easy on the budget. More than 7,000 consumers say it is very good - excellent. Online prices start at $9.98.

Distributor notes

One of the holy grail's of wine is finding a killer Pinot Noir for under $10. Something that drinks like you paid twice the price, a bottle that you can brag to friends and family about. The Long Barn Pinot Noir from California’s famed wine growing region is a great example of a modern style Pinot Noir with old world influence. Sourced and crafted by the three Italians over at Napa Valley Ca’Momi, for them Long Barn is all about enjoying wine in the company of good friends & a great meal. Long Barn gives thanks to California’s agricultural legacy and the past generations who built it. A wine that connects the Long Barn passion for simplicity with a sense of place. Fans of California Pinot Noir will go nuts over this bottle.

The Wine Buyer: 91 Points

“Another outstanding value! This Pinot Noir never disappoints vintage after vintage! Well-structured with light cherry, raspberry, strawberry and red licorice flavors that are followed by vanilla, spice and soft tannins. A great match to your favorite pork, poultry or lamb dishes.”

Happy Thursday. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet reports.

Chilly start as it is only in the 20s here. Very frosty. Fancy does not like the cold. She went out this morning and immediately turned around and ran back in.

Working from home today. Fancy will be assisting me.

I say yes to the meal of the day and absolutely to the drink of the day. One of my favorites.

Thinking of all on the care list.

Celebrating with all who are celebrating.

Have a safe and healthy day.

By the way, I am watching on the webcams as Carnival Spirit is trying to turn into Nassau in gale force conditions. Just watching the aft of the ship go up and down is amazing.

Good morning Daily-ites.

Last night was a no sleeper. Got up at 3, finished my book and 2 cups of coffee.

Prayers lifted to every person on our care list. I am really sad over the recent unrest in Israel.

Thanks to our food and beverage ladies and thank you Sandi for filling in for Dixie this morning.

Not much this morning but market. Tonight is girl's game night. So I'll make Cosmo's and have a bottle of wine on hand.

Wishing everyone a happy day.

Good morning, Dailyites, it’s good afternoon here.  Actually not that good, our stop in Cartagena was cancelled due to the wind, (as @kochleffel mentioned), which will be increasing  It’s part of the huge system affecting Graham in England, and I’m thinking may  affect our future ports in Spain and Portugal.  In fact , Pat said at lunch “Won’t it be funny if our next port is Fort Lauderdale!”  Not that funny…

This morning, we went to the talk given by the executive chef on board.  He is funny.  I asked the cracker question….  He said he hoped to find some in one of the pallets they are still unpacking.  I’m not sure that really answered my question, but we’ll see if they do appear.  I did manage to find some in Barcelona, so I come prepared.

I knew immediately this morning from all the tooting (to the pilot boat) that we had our old friend, Captain van Eerten, running things.  The pilot boat came, evidently there were discussions , and then the pilot left.

Good morning. It is quite nippy here and we remain very grateful that the boiler is working well.I have progressed to wearing my heavier winter jacket as well as gloves when dog walking.

@aliaschief, Bruce, was it still dark when your ship passed the Statue of Liberty? The last time I saw the Intrepid it was in the company of DS’s Cub  Scout troop. I really enjoyed it but it was hard to keep up with those boys.

My DD DH was not known for his skills in the kitchen. There were times when he had to prepare meals and I noticed the kids were very interested in learning how to cook after that.
I will pass on the recipe today as curry and I are not friends. Today I am making a bean and pasta soup for our dining pleasure. I think corn bread will go well with it.

I have not been to Japan. The pictures yesterday of Juneau were outstanding. Thank you to all contributors.

We are expecting about forty people on Saturday for Lou’s last party. I am grateful that DD and DS have done the organizing for this as it has been very emotional for me. I look forward to seeing my Massachusetts, Connecticut  and New Hampshire family members .
