Greetings and Good Morning HAL Cruisers, Yes, Lisa and Tom are at it again. We are flying today to Florida for our cruise tomorrow. We are flying via American Airlines Non stop to Miami on a very Early flight. From LAS there were no Non Stop to FLL, since I booked Hotel through HAL and they will provide transfers for their hotel from either FLL or MIA this seemed to work out for the best.
This will be our first time on the Nieuw Statendam and will complete us having sailed on all the ships of the current HAL Fleet and it will be our first time cruising since reaching our 5 Star Status. Although I suspect we will see no difference as far as that is concerned. Except I might get a Spa Day in the Thermal Suite Emoji
We are sailing in a Neptune Corner Aft this cruise, while we have cruised Caribbean several time we had not done it in the Corner Aft so this will be a bit different, as well as this is our first time to sail on a ship with a separate Club Orange Restaurant when having a Neptune Suite, No Pinnacle Grill for Breakfast.

I will go ahead and continue my recent Live From tradition of What's For Dinner?. I am looking forward to see if there is much change from our recent Koningsdam cruise. I have been watching the current 14 day crossing of the Nieuw Statendam and there has been some interesting menu items as well as it appears they did two Brunch's so I am hoping they will also have one for our cruise. Possibly next Friday our last Sea Day.

We have reservations this evening at J. Alexanders that is very close to our hotel for tonight, the menu looks good and I have seen on other reviews it came highly recommended. I will report in on that this evein.

Thanks for following along!!

Safe travels Lisa and Tom.  And Bon Voyage!

Looking forward to following along with you.

I haven’t been on the N Statendam but if it’s CO dining room and staff are anything like the Koningsdam and Rotterdam, I think you will really enjoy it 🤞

Hope you have a fabulous time 🙂

Welcome aboard! We have quite enjoyed the past 2 weeks on NS and are not ready to leave in the morning. But if you insist on boarding, I guess we will do our part in making room for you, lol!

Crew, of course, has been wonderful and issues minimal. The lines at GS have been mostly nonexistent, which I consider a sign of smooth operations.

The ship looks really lovely in her Christmas finest 🎄- enjoy your cruise, safe travels!

I will happily be following. 😊

Bon voyage, @LAFFNVEGAS!  Nieuw Statendam is my favourite of the Pinnacle ships, I can't really say why;  there was something about the air on the ship which made me happy! The only thing I was not so happy about was the shape of the chairs in the Club Orange.  I found it uncomfortable to lean back against the "bamboo".  I'd love to know if they have added new chairs.  I'll add a picture from one of the wine tastings.  You can kind of see how the chairs are.

We landed early almost 10 minutes, when we got to luggage carousel 24 the Holland America Rep was waiting for us, luggage arrived quickly and they escorted us out to our private car driver and we got to our hotel quickly in Plantation FL. I will say that it is well worth booking hotel through Holland America with having  the transfers included from airport to hotel and hotel to ship. Not all cruise lines provide that. We are staying at Renaissance Ft Lauderdale West.

it really is a nice hotel with a very spacious bathroom

This evening we had dinner at J Alexander’s, , it was very good with a bit of a Southern twist.
Never have seen sides being Butternut Squash which I had and also Spaghetti Squash.
we took a Lyft to and from that was $4.99 plus tip. Well worth it.
