Here is the latest update of 2024 for the Dry Docks, Charters & Groups information.

There has been some activity since the January update, so check your dates!  There are a few gaps in sailing schedules so I have included most of them as 'Possible Charter' or 'No Itinerary Published' until more information can be found.

For any errors, I apologise in advance!

 

As usual, if you can provide any information on upcoming Dry Docks, Charters or Groups, then please post to this thread and I will update the information in the next file.

The Volendam had a very extensive refurbishing during her 2022 drydocking. Do you know why she has another one in October so soon after the last one?  Is there a problem that needs addressing on her, we are on her in August?  TIA

That would be 30 months...the normal HAL dry dock scheduling rotation, when not affected by Covid.

I hope the Zaandam is finished before Feb 8 since we're supposed to leave out of Miami that day. Do you, by any chance, know where the drydock takes place? 🙂

Dates indicate the time out of service, not the actual dry dock dates.  Drydock will end a few days before and the ship will sail to her next embarkation point.

No idea where the dry dock is happening, but with the ship ending her previous cruise in Fort Lauderdale and the next one embarking in Miami, it would point towards the drydock being carried out Grand Bahama Dock Yard.

@VMax1700 Thank you for this thread. I have to admit I didn't really pay that much attention to this thread,  until the Thread about HAL closing the Crow's Nest for many evenings in a row because of an "Art" group.

As it turns out there is a "Roads Scholar" group on our cruise next year, hopefully this will be a plus.

I'm appreciative of this thread - after doing some research, we changed a voyage due to a group listed on our cruise and one of the group's guest speakers who has a controversial public reputation.  I have no idea how big the group is but given the speaker's reputation, I worry it would be big enough to restrict use of some of the larger venues on board (such as the crows nest).

They have 7 months before embarkation.  Plenty of time to hone the knitting needles to a fine point. 😁

I bet you won't even know they're there.  We sailed with Roads Scholars once (that we know of because we met one RS couple on the way to FLL).  They had lectures in the Wajang Theatre for their group only but not for hours on end.  I only know this because I had to wait for them to leave before attending an event in the theatre right afterwards.  If we hadn't met the couple and seen them leave the lecture, we would never have known it was a RS event.

Be very concerned. You are limited to a 2.5 inch (63 mm)   pocket knife blade. They are wielding 12-14 inch (22°C) knitting needles. The knife will come in handy if they try to knit you to a chair, but you'll need safety goggles so they don't poke your eye out.

 

And whatever you do, do not comment on the "lovely scarf" they're making. They could be knitting what they call "a muffler." Offend them at your peril.

Sorry I don't have much information.  I booked a 2026 cruise on the Rotterdam yesterday.  Feb 20 departure.  I was told the lower dining room was unavailable for this cruise.  I guess as we get closer to 2026 there might be more details.

We booked the same cruise - as a back up if we don't do our South America cruise - were you told that a large group will be on this one?
