JillLovesTravel Posted October 15, 2014 #151 Share Posted October 15, 2014 The word "fair" has no real meaning in this context, in my opinion. Is this comment in relation to a prior post, or am I missing something?
Debde Posted October 15, 2014 #152 Share Posted October 15, 2014 Forget it! It's not happening. On the majority of RCCL ships, the CL would be empty for most of the night if it were available only to suite guests. This is especially true for the older ships which have limited suites and which do not attract higher end spenders. It is the Pinnacles, D+ and D who show their loyalty by booking the older ships. Higher end cruisers tend to be attracted to the newest fad. Well, it's happening!! Big Changes to the newer ships and I'm going to guess, trickle down to all ships. I've been away from posting and just lurking because I have land based vacations happening but still been lurking. Knew where all this talk was finally going. Once those drink vouchers were put into play..writing was on the walls!! I'll be back to cruising soon and after the initial uproar is over thank god!!!;)

So many D+ went berserk! Talking about complaining to the Concierges about the children, etc. Saying the lounge was for adults only. This goes to show that Suite Guests come first whether they are children or adults. It is all about the money. As you said the writing was on the walls and it has just gotten larger and larger as they started allowing 2 bottles of wine per cabin, the drink packages became available and the 3 free drinks loaded on Diamond and above sea pass cards. It really wasn't that hard to figure out this was coming.

Rare John&LaLa Posted October 16, 2014 #156 Share Posted October 16, 2014 I'm wondering why the GS's are so valuable. Price wise they are much closer to inside prices than Sky Lofts and Royal Suites. On my April 11 Oasis, two in a GS is $4,800, two in a SL is $11,800, and two in a RS is $12,800. Where can you find quantity of cabin type per ship? Just curious Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app

onlyonetrevorfrancis Posted November 1, 2014 #158 Share Posted November 1, 2014 I guess this is sort of connected (sort of :)), we are just off the Independence today and I was very curious about the wording to the signs to the roped off reserved sun bed area over looking the pool. On Adventure when we were in a GS it stated something along the lines of "Gold Card holders only" and we met a very nice Pinnacle couple in this area the one day. On IOS the sign stated 'Concierge lounge suite guests only'. We weren't in a suite this time and we certainly aren't anywhere near Pinnacle, I just think its a shame if the most loyal guests don't get this perk on IOS. :confused:sorry if the answer to this is really obvious, be kind :) Greg

I think that is where Royal and other cruiselines are headed. Private lounge, restaurant & pool area. It is all about the competiton.

I'd speculate that the PC member would be welcome. If I were PC and saw such a sign, if unsure I'd likely ask the concierge in the CL if I were welcome or not. Signage for restricted areas is not always perfectly specific. As D+, we knew we'd get reserved seating in some shows, but sometimes only saw a sign for gold card holders; when we asked, as D+ we were escorted into that section. STANMELB Posted November 1, 2014 #161 Share Posted November 1, 2014 Just off the October 27th 5 day Oasis cruise. Suite Lounge was serving drinks from 11:00 AM until 8:30 PM daily. Only Pinnacle and Grand Suite and above guests were allowed. Coastal Kitchen will open November 8th. CL on Deck 11 will close sometime in February. Entire space, both floors, will be used for Wonderland. This was confirmed by various officers on board. This is no loner speculation, as it was freely discussed and confirmed. jeslimin Posted November 12, 2014 #162 Share Posted November 12, 2014 If the suite brochure is to be believed as the path RCI is taking fleetwide, there really isn't a need for a D+ category. Only thing you really get beyond D then is an extra $25 off a balcony or higher

Time will tell but I expect ( or at least I hope) that Pinnacle members will also get all the concierge/suite benefits. BTW - I am not Pinnacle - I just believe that loyalty should be recognized. Just to add a bit of conversation - last week one of the D+ tours offered was for STUDIO B. Usually the tour is a general theater tour but the Studio B tour was different and informative. It was led by the area engineer. There was the usual galley and bridge tours also. The meal with an officer was a 9:00AM - yes 9AM breakfast. It seemed to be only for those over 340 points. In the past the meal had been a breakfast but also as a Plat and up C&A event so it was crowded, officers at each table might be a store clerk, and the menu was fair. This event had a great menu, small crowd and one could actually speak with an officer. Well done! M
