39august Posted July 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2019 Amazing experience on Equinox. I was quite unhappy to see only two ladies restrooms with the live orchid plants when we boarded Equinox on July 5. When I received my day 3 "how to make it better" form I asked "Please bring back the live orchids in ladies restrooms. And need more bartenders in Passport Bar." That very evening I was approached by an officer while I had a drink in the Craft Social who introduced himself as the beverage manager and assured my that there would be additional bar service in the Passport bar. Another officer went to our cabin that same evening and assured my husband that the live orchids would return to the ladies rooms. Lo and behold, both were fully carried out the next day! The live plants and the extra bartenders remained for that week and the next. So they DO pay attention to what you have to say. I will be interested to hear if this continues for the next couple of months. I will be on EQ again in late Sept. The over all service experience on the EQ was outstanding and I got a chance to tell Captain Kate how I appreciated that service. 2

Rare 1025cruise Posted July 21, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2019 Hmm, I never had an issue with the bar staff at the Passport bar a few weeks ago. Seemed to be plenty of bartenders. With regards to the Orchids, not something I would have noticed, but I probably would have figured they had a supply issue.
nimiq Posted July 21, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2019 Going on the EQ in November and can’t wait as this class of ship is one of the nicest I’ve been on. Does anyone know until when captain Kate will be on-board ? sea ya Eric
39august Posted July 21, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted July 21, 2019 (edited) There was only one bartender on our first sea day in Passport Bar, at least until early evening. Captain Kate is on now. I believe she goes to Edge some time in Sept. Edited July 21, 2019 by 39august

They are a business and if the suggestion is good for a couple of reasons-maybe even just one reason, then your input has a better than average chance of being at least tested, then implemented. To my dismay, Celebrity has changed areas onboard due to non-use or a higher benefit by changing something. I understand though. My personal disappointing change was deleting a chunk of the walking track for more $$$$cabins forward. The M class ships had the best walking/jogging track and now hardly a track as it is mingled with lounge chairs. But hey, being on a cruise is good. 🙂

Rare hcat Posted July 21, 2019 #10 Share Posted July 21, 2019 (edited) Glad they responded to OPs simple requests. I am sure they are aware that EQuinox has been criticised recently for various poor design changes. If they can do little things, it takes away some of the sting to make guests happier Hope they can fix the furniture missteps as time goes on. helen haywood Posted July 22, 2019 #11 Share Posted July 22, 2019 I was on the Equinox’s July 13th sailing. I, too, filled out the How Are We Doing questionnaire. I had a visit from a staff member to my cabin the next day. I had mentioned four things on the sheet. First, I said my cabin steward was fantastic. Second, I said I missed the embarkation day’s program listing on the cover the full itinerary showing port times, time changes and Evening Chic nights. Third, I missed having the sunrise and sunset times for each day on the program. Fourth, on the second evening, the first Captains Club Happy Hour, there was a lady from the Spa going from table to table drumming up business. The staff member thanked me for my time filling out the form. He said he was very happy to hear praise for Francisco. In a very nice way he showed me that the full itinerary details I was missing from the cover of the embarkation daily...were now on the inside first page. (I felt completely stupid; I read the program from cover to cover. I don’t know how I missed that! I guess I just saw it wasn’t on the front page as always ...perhaps the beverage package might also be to blame...) He said the sunrise/sunset times were now on the TV or app. Grrr. Guess I’ll have to join the 21st century...😜) Regarding the Spa lady trolling during the CCHH, he said it was “being addressed.” So yes they do listen and read. I even had a thank you note in the cabin from an officer regarding taking time out of my vacation to fill out the form. Every Ladies Room I visited had orchids. I have occasionally seen attendants walking with the plants and assumed they had been watered/fertilized/pruned/replaced and were going back to service. kearney Posted July 22, 2019 #16 Share Posted July 22, 2019 Any business that serves customers and relies on good reviews and return visits... is going to listen to its customers. The key is to find that person with in the chain who is responsive or can get the word. Sometimes one customer will want something that others don't want... or it is impossible to implement in a timely or cost effective manner. I do think it was brilliant for them to come up to OP and tell her that the issues had been addressed. It is the little things that make such a lasting impression. We were on one of the maiden Edge voyages. We purchased a watch onboard and I knew we would need to visit customs... when we got off the ship a crewman gathered us and other who had made purchases... to escort us to customs. He took our seapass cards and passports... the whole process was a mess.... anyway by the time we got through the process... we got our pass ports back... but not our seapasses. Now, I kinda collect those... not that I do anything with them...but when I hold it... it is like a key to the memory of the cruise. Anyway...months passed... and the horror of the departure (took us 2 hours)... passed.. the one thing that I could just not let go of was the loss of the sea passes. Well I wrote the CEO a letter and with in a day or so I heard back from them. While my old passes were destroyed... they did get replacements... might be missing a few words vs the original... but the set is now complete. It is funny it was such a tiny thing...but again... quick response from the company and someone willing to contact the ship to get them to reprint.... helped erase the negative impressions we were left with.... Look forward to my next Celebrity cruise.

In case you are like me and did not know what a Phalaenopsis is. That Jim is a smart one I tell ya'. On our January Equinox cruise I do not recall any flowers in the mend room. And many did not have cloth towels, just paper. Might have just been that week.
