Is this a record, 151 days and counting, <snip, snip> Will not use this T/A again, useless. <snip>

While I feel your pain, I disagree that the travel agent is to blame.

Finally got Princess refund for cruise June 27, canceled April 20.

Took the longest-80 DAYS!!

Strange that credit came in 4 different strange amts ( casino deal-paid $200 cabin deposit(onboard credit), port charges, & insurance. Still $96 less than total what i paid. Maybe that will come next week.

OMG-  this refund wasn't from Princess, it was from Royal Caribb., for 2 sailings in Aug & in Sept!!  On phone, Visa just says from a cruise co., & I assumed wrong. The Royal Caribb. refunds only took 15 days!!!!

I had called Princess today, to ask about the $96 more, & he said, strange-they havent gotten to my refund yet!! I told him its over 80 days, & he says that Princess has had to refund so many people. Then I told him that our refunds from Carnival & Royal have now been 12 & 15 days, when they had been earlier 30-40 days. He had nothing else to say!

Right?!?

No, I am sending e-mails confirming the conversations.  They are going to my Princess PVP, who is great.  She responds, which as an agent of Princess does bind them.  I agree, it may not be right to put the PVP or TA in the middle, but I am always polite and never take it out on them.

Day 110, still no FCC but said it is now being processed; CC balance is correct and just requested the negitive balance as a check/refund.  Bank said it will take 5-7 business days to process and 7-10 days to get the check in the mail (yes to direct deposit).  So 12 - 17 business days.  I will let you know when I get the check and still tracking on the FCC.

Princess finally got back to me but it doesn't make any sense. I am not eligible for Option 2 because Princess canceled my Grand Princess 03/22/20 cruise on 03/10/20 instead of 03/12/20. PVP has referred it up the chain of command bc I did not cancel -- they did

Geez, what a mess!  I certainly hope the chain of command sorts this out, as it doesn't seem fair to you at all.

Agreed. She called me on a recorded line to tell me. I reiterated a number of times that I would have preferred to not have Covid outbreaks - not have Princess cancel my cruise - to just have gone but life happens. I appreciate the refund but pls reconsider upholding the option 2 bonus FCC.

Then I requested to leave the April 2022 until I get the FCC to put down on it as the deposit. She agreed to that / we'll see (it's the same itinerary as the 03/29/20 cancelation)

That does not sound right. What do you get back?

they cancelled & option 1 & 2 were to cover their cancellations back to Feb.

I just read the terms/ fine print on this again. Confusing-

Reread my notes & a correction: Princess canceled me March 8th not March 10th.  I got back 100% refund on March 12th & 50% FCC end of April instead of 100% FCC as Princess stated in Option 2.  Felt it was close enough until I rebooked same itinerary and it was higher. But hey, they offered 100% FCC so why not push for it? Only day 33 on 4th Princess-canceled cruise. Still I'm better off than most

The miracle has finally occurred. I received a check from Bottomline for my onboard credit refund from my interrupted world cruise on Pacific Princess, departing LA on Jan 20 and ending early in Fremantle, Australia on Mar 21. Check was dated July 2, postmarked July 6, and arrived July 11.

This is the last of the refunds and FCC due to me, received 112 days after disembarking. Good luck to all of you still waiting! I can't say it's been fun, but it's over for me at last.

Hooray!  Finally the day has come when we have our refund

Cash  Expenses  & Fccs   99% sure they have paid our  Fees & Tax in  FCCs which is not great  (wrong in my opinion) but  acceptable.

In no specific order thanks to   @Coral  @ceilidh1   @Italy52  @Ombud  @LDVinNC @dog     for  your company on this epic journey.    In hindsight  a  separate thread for each princess ship might have been a good plan.   I also wish I had kept a copy of all the stuff  posted on here and on Princess site as it  became available from Princess, it took a while  to realise that they were  amending  advisories  but keeping the same date  so impossible to tell what changed or exactly when.

Problem now is what to  do next if/when  we are allowed by Princess/ Insurance/ Doctors/Governments/ Port authorities.

Are people who book now doing so without insurance? &

if with insurance what will it cover if your .Gov doesnt allow travel for leisure purposes.  ( I will ask this in the Ins board)

It doesnt exist in the UK but are princess still doing insurance  for their cruises in the US?

If you are over 65/70/75 /85 and your booking is accepted what happens if they decide it is too risky after you have booked flights  tours and hotels.

I am glad to hear that the interrupted world cruise is finally being handled.  I have been worried for you and others on that cruise!

I am glad that your refund has come through.  It will be interesting to hear if the other 1% is true, and your fees and taxes actually come through a different way from FCC's such as a refund to your credit card of the infamous "holding account."  I have never heard and it isn't been my experience that they ever return those as FCC's and I will be very surprised if your 99% guess is correct.  Please keep us updated about this.

I would have preferred more transparency such as amending offers going forward instead of changing verbiage on existing offers so that we have to find existing screenshots. For instance: I had a screenshot of a presentation where it states I can use FCC as a deposit on the identical itinerary on a future date. That's now in question.

I can buy insurance with Princess but this has been such a debacle that I'm buying it with USAA unless I'm using up a gift card (might still due that & just cash the remaining cards out online)

Is anyone else encountering difficulty in receiving a refund from Princess?  My Alaska cruise was cancelled on 4/15, I immediately requested a refund instead of a future cruise credit and received a confirmation email.  I called on June 3 and was informed there was an error, my request was coded as FCC instead of refund.  June 22, called again and was informed my refund was being processed.  I just called again today and the agent told me that on July 7 the status was changed back to FCC.  Now I wait 7-10 business days for that change to 'process' and then begin the waiting period all over again to receive my refund.  This is obviously not unintentional, I can forgive 1 mistake, but 3?  Never, ever, again.

When was the cruise supposed to sail?

so...here we are at 7/14, my  March 22, 2020 Regal cruise was canceled by Princess on

March 12, 2020. I have heard nothing other than 2 emails asking that I remain "patient". All that they owe me is the deposit and port charges and taxes that are automatically refunded if you are a no-show(!) plus an upsell of $398 which I disputed with my credit card company (was told in May that I must give Princess another 90 days to respond)...I would dispute the whole thing if possible but paid so long ago that option does not appear to be available to me. I did not bother them with phone calls while being "patient" but did call almost 2 months ago when they denied receiving my Option 2 request (that they verified they received via email to me). I did receive $498 future cruise credit (was entitled to 100% refund plus 100% future cruise credit) but learned long ago not to throw away good money after bad and Princess wants a $100 deposit on a new booking. Sorry, haven't b**ched in a while. P.S. for those who wonder - US citizen, Casino booking-I've received 3 additional casino booking offers, accepted one (had to pay deposit, port charge & tax - good money/bad didn't kick in with me at that point apparently), DID get full refund for June cruise which was canceled in April by Princess, also have had 5 cruises canceled by Royal Caribbean. Two fully refunded, partial refund for July cruise and still waiting for September cruise refund (but RC is refunding in a 45-60 day range), third one just got canceled recently and was for January 2021 on a new build.
