Today was grandparent luncheon day at our granddaughter’s school.  We brought in toasted subs from our favorite sub shop.  Much better than eating school cafeteria food.  
 

The school did this every year, but then stopped in 2020 due to the pandemic.  This was the first restart since then.  We went before then with our grandson, but this was the first with our granddaughter. 
 

 

Yeah, we snuck in a cherry coke for her too.  
 

Tonight, it was packing 142 bags of food for kids to take home for the weekend.  Only two more weeks of packing before school is out.

Couldn’t agree more. I lost my dad in March after an 8 year battle with Alzheimer’s dementia. The nurses, from the hospital to the nursing home and hospice care were angels. They are far under appreciated. I’ll never forget the care they provided for my dad and comfort for my mom, sister and myself.

I see rice fields as we ride along on the bus to Ryugado Cave.

 

Entrance to Ryugado Cave- one of Japan’s three largest limestone caves formed over 175 million years ago.  I choose not to go into the cave.

 

Katsurahama Beach- a popular spot among locals

 

There is our ship

 

 

We have been invited to the helipad for sail away.

 

The helipad is not accessible to anyone anytime even though it is the only location that one can get a forward view from the ship.

Saw this huge shark on Oak Island which is about 35 minutes from Southport.

 

 

 

This is a pier back at Southport we walked on.

 

 

 

 

 

Ferry traveling back and forth from Southport to Bald Island. On Bald island there are million dollar + houses where there are no vehicles at all can only get there by boat and travel around the island is only by golf carts.

 

 

 

This buoy is on the shoreline of Southport, show how far a few place are from this point.

 

 

 

 

 

Here is a chart that tells what the different colored flags mean when they are posted on the shoreline.

@Ocean Boy did you see JetBlue will have nonstop flights from TF Green to San Juan PR starting this October?  Nice option for one of those southern Caribbean itineraries out of SJ.

Just read on the Celebrity board that our friend here on Dani's thread @helen haywood fell and broke her leg on her Beyond cruise. 😞
