They were in the USA so I think that was a given. 😇

It's just interesting that the perceived risk of the listed countries (and the SS Minnow Cruiseline) seems higher than where OP resides.

It also demonstrates how policy, whether government or private, has to adapt frequently during a pandemic.  What made sense five months ago or even two months ago doesn't make sense today.

A doctor's office neglecting to adapt is a bit of a concern.  Are they recommending treatment thought to be effective in the past despite current knowledge that dictates a different approach?

Yesterday I had a Doctor's appointment and as a new patient to the office I requested to fill out an onslaught of forms. You know the usual stuff but also included was a 'new to us' form regarding Covid. My wife accompanied me and as avid cruisers we found this one form to be interesting. I wish I could post an image of the questionaire but alas, I can't. So i'll transcribe.

1. Have you been exposed to someone who has traveled to any high-risk areas or countries in the past 20 days?     Yes or No

High Risk Countries

*  Cruise Ships

*  Iran

*  United Kingdom

*  China

*  Ireland

*  Brazil

*  Most European Countries

My wife & I literally laughed out loud. For we have had to cancel a cruise to the Greek Isles. We have since scheduled a future cruise to the British Isles via Amsterdam.

I had a doctors visit last Wednesday.When I called to make the appointment I was asked if I had traveled out of the US in the past 30:days.

I have an eye doctor's appointment scheduled for Sept. Every few days,  I get an e-mail advising me of which states have been added to NY's travel advisory and if I have traveled to any of those states, prepare for 14 day quarantine.

Cruise ship was not listed.

Just wondering...is there much testing going on over there these days?

There is a great deal of contact tracing going on in Spain. 40% of new cases have been tied to family gatherings. They are oddly affected in rural areas now to a much greater extent than the big cities.

Masks are mandatory now in all public spaces and it has been strictly enforced. Fines rise substantially repeat offences.

Testing is available at many levels. While Spain does have standard health care through the health care services and they will even in most cases come home to the individual that has a possible case. They have been coming the same day the test is needed for the most part.

Then many have relationships through private local clinics were you can be a member and have access to rapid 2 day testing and full antibody screening. It ranges from $60 to $225 at private clinics. Those taking more money give quicker results as I think public testing is running about 3 days now. Some exclusive plans from Employers or for business owners are  all inclusive with an annual fee. Private results are same or 2 day results.

I get asked a very similar question every single day to enter my office building. Along with being temperature screened. Fail either and they disable your badge from entry to the facility for at least 1/2 a month. An unpaid vacation.

I went for a dermatology appointment a week ago.  One of the questions she asked me as screening:

"Have you been on a cruise ship in the last two weeks?"

I looked at her like she had grown another head.  😮😉

Uk here. We currently have a testing capacity of 150,000  people a day however we are only doing around 80,000 tests a day. Number of reasons, however as someone who has gone for a test my testing drive through facility was empty and the staff bored. Its not about capacity its about how many people actually go for a test. Also some people are continually getting tested.

As of yesterday (17 July) 293,239 confirmed cases out of a population of 66.5 million. Daily number of confirmed cases is 687, with sadly 114 deaths.

I don't trust any numbers coming out of most countries esp south america, Asia and Africa, so i take them with a pinch of salt. We do have flair ups in the UK, but that will continue for a long while.

Although i did read today an Australian Uni has developed a covid test that takes 20 mins to get a result!!!

I'd be the first to book...would finally love to meet Ginger and Mary Anne. 😁

Check out Dawn Wells on Facebook. She is still going strong.  LOL

Did a cruise in March, Had to self quarantine for 2 weeks.

We were tested for antibodies 3 weeks ago BOTH negative (-)

My wife wears a mask 12 hours a day and when in close contact or any physical contact wears a shield as well. O wear a mask when ever in public.

If a mask MUST be part of embarkation or at those times we all know are crowded not a big deal.

I am sure the reduced passenger capacity will lead to increased (SOCIAL) distancing in restaurants and other areas like lounges and casinos where masks will NOT be needed
