There have been some studies on RH negative blood being more resistant to certain illnesses, but just like most medical studies, there are opposing views. My son was tested last spring because he had all of the symptoms but the test came back negative, ( I still suspect he had it), but he isn't interested in getting the vaccine. I have been tested twice and the vast majority of people being tested (me included) were there for pre-medical procedure or pre-travel testing which were requirements for those activities.... like getting a pre-test to go on a cruise.

They have been working with Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett that was finding a vaccine for coronavirus at National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at NIH to which Dr. Fauci is the head of. A lot of these companies work directly with NIH or other institutes as well. Edited November 16, 2020 by Plum Happy

I got my flu shot on Thursday and just felt like a bee sting to me.

I know many who won't get it. I saw results of a survey last night on my local news that said less than 50% of americans plan on getting the vaccine as soon as it is available. Something like 35% said they will wait at 3 to 12 months before they get it and the rest said No way! I have no idea who they surveyed and there are so many different surveys out for there for everything and anything I really don't rely on that information but let's hope me and my DH are allowed to get it since he is a organ transplant recipient. No word yet on whether someone like him we will be allowed.

A bank where I have options to buy many shares at $2.10 will require me to sell shares to raise the $$ to exercise the options before they expire. Nothing sinister 2

Both my parents (mom twice), my MIL, my oldest DS (at age 22) have all had them plus quite a few people I've worked with and friends. I guess part of it is in my generation and even my son's (34 and 36) most everyone actually had chicken pox as there was no vaccine. Having had the chicken pox makes you vulnerable. 1 in 3 should change dramatically over the next few years. I don't think some people realize that people die each year from flu complications, especially in the older populations. The flu itself doesn't kill you, it's the secondary infections. In my county, last Feb we had a healthy 17 yr old die from flu complications, yet we haven't had a single death from COVID under age 40 and even 40-49, there was only 1 and I have no idea what they're health status was, but it probably wasn't good. I did read an article once about pharmaceutical stocks and that they traded at their highest amounts just before trial results were publicly reported (whether the trial went good or bad). It may just be that the promise of a vaccine is better for stock price, then the actual release of a vaccine.

Yes, same for him. he is allowed only certain vaccines - even though he is under 62 he gets the high does quad flu shot, he is Not allowed to get the shingles vaccine. I spoke with one of his transplant team members last week when they called to review his monthly labs and she said they have no idea on whether transplant recipients will be allowed the covid vaccine. She suspects they will have to do additional studies before it would be safe for him to get it. Will wait to speak to the actual transplant doc or the infectious disease doc when the vaccine is available. Not sure that his system would build up the required antibodies due to his meds, I have no idea how all the works.
