Love the escargot and the eggplant tower...

Miss the harpist in the specialty dining room on Millie years ago..

Most of all -- We really miss Michel Roux... We go back a long way with Celebrity... Under his watch that was when the Celebrity food and menus were at the top of their game... 😁🛳️

Which venue did you get the eggplant tower and can you describe it?

The Crepe Ballon Rouge in Murano. 😋

I had nearly forgotten the Ballon Rouge, worth ordering to smell the strawberries cooking even if you are so full you feel you can not eat any more....but there is always a small hole...

I can't eat ice cream, which is in the Ballon Rouge, so the chef came up with a special version of it for me. I'm sure it’s not quite as good as the original, but it was still very enjoyable. 😁

I'm actually impressed with people's memory! I've only cruised Celebrity a couple of times so far, but I don't really remember any specific dishes on RCL, which we cruised many times. I tend to remember experiences more than specific dishes, unless it's just something out of this world. For instance, we did the Chef's Table on Brilliance of the Seas. I remember it being an amazing experience, and I even have food porn on the iPhone, but I'm actually not sure what we had (looks like crab and salmon for a first course...).

Although one I haven't seen posted that I do remember is the burger in Luminae for departure day lunch. That was actually pretty amazing.

Beyond that, yes, the pastries, either at the buffet or at Cafe Al Baccio, And the bread in general, although I agree the bread in Luminae was pretty amazing. And I do (did) like the lunch offerings at the buffet!

After that, I remember the experience. I can describe dishes at landside restaurants, but for whatever reason, I'm hard pressed to come up with a specific dish on X (or HAL, or RCL) that sticks in my mind!

Now that you mention it I do remember the Cova chocolates. As for the eggplant it was a small tower appetizer that was wonderful.  It has been so long I don't remember which ship.  One thing we made sure not to have was the duck soup. It was awful..😁 The wild forest mushroom soup was the best.

We also loved the midnight buffets -- not to eat, but the work the people put into the ice carvings and the fruit sculptures that they did.  It was amazing. Great memories...

My top 5 favorite foods I miss on Celebrity

1) The daily Basil-Pesto  bowtie pasta side dish from the AquaSpa Cafe,  eaten poolside.

2) The fresh almond croussaints from Cafe Al Baccio.

3) The whipped butter in the buffet for breakfast.*

4) The Goatcheese souffle in Luminae**

5) Bowtie Pasta from the AquaSpa Cafe.***

*I'm serious about the whipped butter.   We don't have this at home as its not practical but I really enjoy being able to slob it on the pancakes, waffles or french toast or whatever.  I miss it.

**Don't let the waiters substitute another cheese and call it 'goatcheese'----ask for the real thing!

*** I mentioned this twice because I usually go back and get another one as we sit by the pool.

That’s what my wife says!! She also loves the Goat cheese Soufflé. So do I.

As to the ‘being served’ as being No 1, I once suggested we rent an RV and take an extended vacation driving around the US. My wife gave me the classic ‘cold stare’ and said, ‘Oh yes, lets put the kitchen, bathroom and bed all in one contraption and then place to clean all those items including our clothing, and call that a vacation’. I caught on quickly.

Den

I'm with your wife!

Ah yes, do it gorilla style

- get a couple of pieces of cheese from the OV Cafe.  Ask for a burger hot off the grill and slap the OV cheese on top.

- ask for a hot dog and ask it to be split long-wise and slap on top of the cheese burger

- ask for a scoop of fried onions ON TOP OF YOUR FRIES, then slap the other piece on cheese on top.

- wash it down with your favorite cerveza (Pacifico if they have it).

Now you are talking decadent!

My coronary arteries are blocking just reading this.
