Thanks Graphicguy. Thnaks for the pics and thanks for relaying the gossips about the porn stars.

We agree with your opinion about the cruise, it was great. It became #1 on my wife's list, #2 for me but  a close #2.

The service was superb. I must mention Amber as Retreat concierge and Johannes at the bar on deck 16.

I think we sat next to you at Luminae one evening: there were not many people eating alone.

LOL!  I kind of stood out like a sore thumb!  Met some great folks on board.  Hopefully I was cordial and polite.

I met some from Philly, Chicago, Atlanta, Alaska and Salt Lake City.  There were also the wonderful ladies from MEI.  If any of your are following…HEY!

Late to this party, read the entire 21 pages this afternoon.  Thanks for the great review and pictures - my next cruise is Equinox in August, but your review made me excited for cruising again!  Big thanks to your girlfriend - I hope we never forget the sacrifices people in health care made for us❤️

PRICING…This Edge sailing was booked about 4 months ago, when we were both still going to sail.  Price was not all that outrageous to sail in a suite (~$5,500), which believe it or not was still about $2K less than sailing in the NCL Haven.  To add icing to the cake, after the GF could not go, my TA said Celebrity would give me $2,400 back as a solo cruiser as OBC.  Add to that, I got AI, the Premiun Liquor, Tips included (although I did additional tips to the Butler, the Room Stewardess, and the Concierge), Streaming internet.  Add that to the TA offering $425 as a refund (after the cruise) and this cruise ended up being a relative bargain.

Wondering how you were able to get your wife's cruise fare returned as OBC?

Did she test positive to COVID and you used that reason?

Was it the money back guarantee up to 48 hours before embarkation?

In the past single has had to pay approx 200% fare.

Thanks - Loved the blog !!!

They dropped the solo supplement for his sailing before he cruised.

still shocked they gave him $ back (in the form of OBC) since it was after final payment.

or has the refund rules changed because Covid?

@JamieLogical….is correct.  She (GF) did not test positive for COVID.  She could not go for work related reasons (and having scheduled and rescinded her vacation plans so many times).

No one was more shocked than I was after we determined I was sailing solo than when my TA called me and said I was being refunded the solo supplement (as OBC).  Have no idea what policy changed, but there are now several cruises where people are sailing solo and not having to pay double because of Celebrity’s policy.  I wouldn’t count on this lasting long, if the policy is actually still in effect.

I was treated as a price reduction under CwC, since it was after final payment it was returned as OBC.

Also, correct!  Thanks!  All in all, looking back, this was probably one of the least expensive cruises I’ve ever taken, if I count the premium drinks included, the streaming WiFi included, the Tips included, the OBC, TA’s rebate, etc.

graphicguy --- what is your take on officers standing watch on the 2nd and 3rd levels above the Martini Bar in the evenings?  When we pass this area in the evenings we notice 1-2 officers standing near the back areas by the staircases looking down into the Martini Bar.

Sorry, just saw this.  You mean security officers?  don’t recall seeing any security.  I actually accidentally went down a set of stairs behind the Martini Bar that was actually an entrance to a store room of some sort.  No one said a word to me, even with the wait staff passed me on those same stairs.

Now, I did see quite a few officers that were aligned with what I assumed were the entertainment or bar operations.  Are those the folks you saw?

Truth told, the only security I saw the entire trip was at embarkation/disembarkation and sometimes when the “porn girls” were in the vicinity.
