Frankly, I'm getting a chuckle over this thread in the sense that , what's the " worry " ?

You're spending $$$$$ on a B2B cruise and asking for " opinions " on what to do about your laundry ??

I'd worry more whether someone splits Kings --- like I've seen many times --- and when the table lost, it caused a " scene ".

One persons ceiling is another persons floor.

We are planning a couple of back to back cruises this winter. Previously we went from Celebrity (with no self service laundry) to Oceania, Silversea or Viking Ocean (all have self service laundry. You spend a day or so after boarding taking care of laundry - no problem. The same is true if you go to Celebrity from the others-do laundry before you leave the ship.

If you are going Celebrity to Celebrity (either same ship or different ships) is the only alternative to use the ship laundry service or severely overpack? Sounds like a simple solution but I haven't figured it out yet! 😁

Thanks

Yes, I do this on pretty much every cruise. it takes only minutes to wash some small items. But I would submit that this solution works better for women than for men. Lingere -- easy. And I have many blouses made of lightweight synthetic fabrics that are easy to wash and dry in the stateroom bathroom. I have a travel clothesline for this purpose. But I could also pack 2 dozen of those thin blouses and still have room left over in my carry on.

The trouble comes with bottoms which tend to be heavier, and with my husband's polos, hawaiian shirts, and khakis, which just don't look nice after wringing out in the bathroom sink.

This solution also doesn't work as well on a cold weather cruise when items are thicker and don't dry well.

I have used self service laundry on some ships, longer cruises. Wish this was an option on all cruises. The ship laundry costs are just outrageous. I'm looking forward to the day when I might get some laundry included. 🙂

How come I so ALL the laundry in our home?  I wash my heavier things in the sink.  Rollup in a bath towel to get about 80% dry then hang in the shower.  Turn on the shower full hot.  Two or three steamy minutes later and the wrinkles fall out.  Antiwrinkle spray for the rest.

I personally find these laundry discussions very funny.  So if you look at the total cost of two people cruising B2B (even in the least expensive cabin) versus the cost of a $50 bag of laundry, what is the worry?  Would you be concerned about one person charge (at least $50) in a specialty restaurant?  Or a few drinks in port or a lunch or a taxi ride?  Or a few minutes in the casino? Just consider the cost of laundry part of the overall cruise cost.  It really is inexpensive compared to most things. And you could use OBC on your laundry.

Same reason we don't sweat the plane, the hotel night or dinner pre-cruise, the UBER to the port.  It's all rolled into the vacation.  Too many other things to worry about.  Cruising is supposed to release us from stress, not pile it on.

When you are in the booking process with Celebrity or a TA ask for the B2B discount. From Celebrity it's  $50.00 for cruises 7 to 9 days and $100.00 for cruises 10 days and longer per stateroom not per person.

Splitting picture cards is unforgivable. Doesn't matter if the table winds up winning or losing someone who splits picture cards is deserving of all the looks they get. Same as the person who sticks with a soft 17 or doesn't split 8s.

Now look what you've done!

I don't understand people who get angry at how other people play. Sometimes I hold on 12 ...because I feel like it. Don't care what this means to the guy next to me who pulled what claims is a card that rightfully should have gone to me.  How stupid that is.  I often split picture cards....because you can.

Everybody talks about these "bags of laundry" as though they hold a weeks worth of laundry. One pair of jeans and a couple shirts and your pretty much done. It is very expensive.  I don't mid spending a lot on some things, but that doesn't mean I am eager to do so on anything.  Everyone has there own tolerance level for certain expenses.

Not sure what ‘bag’ they gave you, but our bags could hold the 20 pieces which was well beyond 1 pants/a few shirts. we got in pretty much all we wore prior to and during the cruise up to then.

I just wish people would title their questions, even ones they think dumb, with smart (i.e., descriptive) thread titles so we would know which ones to click!!!

Depending on where you are going I think you could do the laundry in a port.   On turn around day you can get off the ship and do anything you want and don’t need to be back on board until 1 hour before sailing. Cost effective?  Considering  the taxi fare, time and etc.  pay for the laundry.

There are somethings that realistically don’t need to be washed after wearing.   You can decide for yourself

X does offer laundry for a fee and sometimes a bag for $20 to $30 for a bag..

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I was thinking this exact same thing, as I read this thread…

I don't get angry but it's human nature to get a bit annoyed when the person to your right makes moves they shouldn't and it affects what you would've gotten. Or if they're sitting at third base and impacts what the dealer's card would be.

Of course it all evens out in the end but like I said it's human nature. It's your money, play the way you want, but if I sit down at the blackjack table I'm looking to maximize my chance to beat the odds and that means playing by the book.

When I paly, I play the way I want with my money.  If the person gets annoyed, their problem not mine.  He/she can always move to another table if so wanted.

I don't believe playing "by the book" actually increases anyone odds.

Ouch.

This was really kind of cruel.

I don't think I'll ever feel like a "Big Shot" as you put it.

The thing is, lots of people do not have unlimited funds -- and they do have to think about every expenditure. Pennies add up to dollars.

My husband and I are very fortunate that in recent years, as we have gotten older, we have more flexibility in our budget and have take some truly amazing vacations. But we do this by watching every cent. I research the most economical ways to get from the airport to the port, for example. Or I spend hours looking for a decent hotel at a reasonable price near the port instead of just booking the Ritz. Or seeking out less expensive excursions than offered by the cruise line. Or -- gasp -- handwashing some lingere in the sink. Or any of a hundred other ways of saving money so that we can afford to go on these incredible trips.

I'm happy for you that you can just "chuckle" over these concerns. Good for you. Apparently you have much more cash to spend at the blackjack table than I do. But you might back off mocking people who have to think about such things. It's not a good look.

I doubt you believe this.
Regardless,

Of course playing by the book increases one’s odds. There’s a mathematical probability for every possible outcome and if you “play by the book” you have a statistical likelihood of losing less than not “playing by the book.” If you count cards you can even turn that probability in your favor.

I’m not sure how long these b2bs are. I haven’t done a b2b but have traveled for 3-4 weeks at a time, with 1 bag under 50 lbs and without doing laundry. You’ll need to wash out underwear, socks, and shirts regularly in the sink and hang to dry. Pants and outer layers of clothing can be worn quite a few times. If I was offered a bag of laundry for $50, I would definately take advantage of it; but hotels charge by the piece and $50 doesn’t go very far.

We got the $100 discount for our B2B Edge cruise in 2024, this will more than pay for getting our laundry done onboard. We will be gone 21 days for this cruise.

Recently did a B2B in an SS on the Edge.  My CC status is just Select which gives you, I believe, a discount or free bag on cruises longer than 12 days (again I believe).  I paid for my first bag, which wasn't cheap.  For my second bag that was much smaller, I went down to CC office and stated "while I'm not on a 12 day cruise, I am on this ship for 14 days".  CC crew gave me 50% my second bag.  You also get $50 off per leg on a B2B so I figured that almost covered my laundry.

With due respect---- You read my post totally out of context :

1---Why " Chuckle  " ?? ------ If someone is spending $$$$ ( lots of money ) on B2B cruising, what's the point worrying about another few dollars or asking people you don't know for their opinion on how to spend your money ?

2--- The " Big Shot " comment about Elite passengers --- being in quotations infers I was making light or fun of Elite's perks , you know , like  " 1 scoop of gelato  "  ---- since 90 % of the passengers are Elite also.

3--- Your comment re " you might back off mocking people who have to think about such things. It's not a good look "----- That's " below the belt "---

4--- Blackjack --- never said I play blackjack--- I said " I've seen people splitting Kings " --- and, that's a good reason to stay away from the table.
