Thanks for the daily.  I would like a Paczi today, tortilla chips maybe from the Lido. I am sure we will see many bartenders today. Love the Twain quote.  All food and drink look good too.

I am praying for all and Ukraine 😿 and all for those on Roy's care list. Wishes of good health to all. 🙏🙏🙏 Have a lovely day.

Heading to Phillipsburg tomorrow.  Just food porn today never have been to Lanzarote.

Good Morning! It’s a sad and scary day with world events. Market’s reaction, uncertain times, gas prices, inflation and most important World Peace. Yes prayers are needed.

Up early as I have an early doctors appointment and overnight house guest arriving.

I would expect several cruise itineraries may be changing because of Russia’s invasion.

Thanks Rich for the Fleet Report and it’s continual return of ships with passengers.

Good Morning Everyone, thanks for the daily report.  Today’s meal suggestion sounds good and I will look forward to @dfish pictures.  We will have turkey tonight.  I need to get the snowblower ready for tomorrow’s storm.  I always appreciate a bartender, especially when I’m on a BHB, they are the best!

Thanks for our Thursday Daily, Rich

DH would happily celebrate tortilla chip day and both of us Bartender day (especially those great bartenders on our BHB’s).  Digital Learning day has been celebrated on a regular basis by many over the last couple of years.

Love the Mark Twain quote.  I resemble that quote at times 😉

We’re back to the b-r-r-r-y temperatures.  Hopefully there was enough wind yesterday to dry up the roads - I’ll find out soon enough 🤞

Woke up to such sad news with the attack on Ukraine 😢 The poor people of Ukraine 😔  A sad day for everyone who believes in the rule of law and not might makes right.

I think Marley has adapted to his pills.  6:30 this morning - yippee!

Got the seeds that need to get in early started, finally.  And yes, there are chilies for DH 😉 It’s too early for the rest.  I’m being selective as my time is limited right now and I have many bulbs to start in a short while.  There will be some time juggling involved, I think 😉

Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

Have a good Thursday, everyone !!!!!!

Good morning from SW Florida, 65 right now, 85 later on.

Good quote.

What would we do if the World had no bartenders?

Let's hope Putin invading Ukraine doesn't escalate to something worse.

Hope all are doing well.

Thank's for The Daily.

Good morning, everyone!

It is a chilly start to the day here in northeast Ohio and I don't think it is going to get much better.  We are under a Winter Weather Advisory from tonight at 7:00 pm until tomorrow morning at 7:00 am.  Several inches of snow are expected on top of a heavy layer of ice.

I have a funeral this morning.   The mother of a friend passed away on Sunday.  She was 92 and had been in ill health for quite some time.  I'll hit the pool this afternoon.

The meal sounds good and the drink sounds good.  Not too sweet, so I might like it.  I'll wait for a description of the wine.  I prefer white wine but sometimes I like a nice cab.  Today's celebrations are good ones.

Most of the recipes for today's meal are done in a slow cooker.  There is one in an instant pot.   Here's the first one:  https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/green-chile-beef-burritos/

761170063_greenchilebeefburrito1.jpg.1f3c1187284490d90927a2f8a664e530.jpg

This next one has a substitution for the hot sauce.   For those who don't like hot and spicy, you might want to use the substitution and just leave out the hot pepper sauce.   https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/slow-cooked-green-chili-beef-burritos/

Next we have the instant pot recipe.  It looks pretty good!   https://tidbits-marci.com/instant-pot-green-chile-beef-burritos/

Finally, there is this recipe.  It just looked so good I couldn't resist.   https://lilluna.com/green-chile-burros-recipe/

1356365273_greenchilebeefburrito4.jpg.ac74458d55d7379bb1e4d474fb2fd93b.jpg

Prayers for all who need them. @smitty34877, I hope Tana finds one to her liking.  Cheers to those who are celebrating today.  Prayers for an end to conflict.  Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning Daily Friends -

Sad day for the world today with what is happening in Ukraine.

Love tortilla chips with a good salsa, and I agree with @MISTER 67 - where WOULD we be without great bartenders?

The baby watch moves to a new level today - yesterday my daughter told me she's having a lot of trouble sleeping and getting comfortable, and made the statement "Come down as soon as you're ready".  So...the bags were packed last night.  I am going into the office for a half-day this morning to wrap up anything that needs to happen in-person and prep some paperwork that will be needed in a week or so for others to help out with.  My husband is going to try to rearrange a dentist appointment he has next week to this morning and if so, we both leave after lunch.  If he can't change it, he'll stay behind and come down early next week (normally he wouldn't care, but he's going through implant restoration and he's almost to the end...if the appointment is only a cleaning, he'll delay it but if it's a measurement or procedure related to the implants, he doesn't want to miss it)

Regardless, I will be there by evening and ready to help out around the house.  Packing up work computers and an extra monitor so I can set up a mobile office until the baby arrives, then I'm taking vacation time.  I'm expecting to be there at least two weeks.  Our son still lives with us but he's managed the house on his own before when we've been gone on vacation, so no doubt he'll keep things running just fine until we get back.  Honestly, he'll love that he'll get the garage space for his car!

Cheers to all celebrating and prayers to those in need, with a special prayer for the people of Ukraine.  Check in later!!

Good morning to all.Our city has a very large Ukranian population  and I feel for them as well as the people of Ukraine. It seems so overwhelming  at times with so many serious  problems in the world.

@dfish,Debbie,Tana liked the first recipe today so I will make it and decrease the spiciness for myself and DH.Thank you so much! The vegetarians  have leftover lasagna to finish tonight.

I salute the days and am the opposite of the quote.I drive the rest of the household nuts with my compulsion to do things right away.I have not been to the port.

It is cold again with a wintry mix expected later tonight.

I found this kitty fast asleep I  his favorite spot earlier.

Thank you for the Thursday Daily, Rich.  Just learned about Ukraine from reading the Daily.  I'll pass on the Tortilla Chips but salute digital learning and bartenders although my only contact with them is getting Diet Coke.  Looks like I got to Lanzarote just one time, probably on Windstar.  Interesting quote by Twain..  I'll pass on the Burrito.  My alternative is Fruit Salad, Rack of Lamb, and Cherries Jubilee, my likely selections for this evening.  The photo is yesterday's salad, Lasagna, and Bannanas Foster.

Thank you for today’s Daily, Rich. Another glorious day in my neighborhood. Roy, thank you for your blog & keeping your lists while cruising. Hoping that this cruise brings a smile to your face.

Praying for the Ukrainian people - and the World. @kazu news like Marley letting you sleep this morning helps keep us grounded. And @msmayornews such as yours reminds us of the joy in life. BTW - we expect pictures.

A fairly normal day here. A couple of gym classes, Bindi walks and chores. But wrapping up the day at our local Beachfront Winery. In times of turmoil, the ocean is restorative.

Another hodgepodge of memes today….

Turnbull 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine has a great many fans among the critics. Lots of excellent - superb ratings and a surprisingly decent price. I never expected this one to be in my budget range - barely. Several online distributors with prices starting at $44.94.

Winemaker Notes

Dusted blackberries, plums, and dark fruit tones coalesce into a wide expanse of engaging freshness and vibrancy. Creamy tannin's tell a story of a layered and complex wine. Brilliant raspberry reduction, Rainier cherry, and cassis unfold in waves through the mid-palate to its impressive, well-tiered finish. The 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is truly symphonic in its progression of flavor, density, power, and lift

WE95 Wine Enthusiast

This is a blockbuster of a wine, especially at the price, opening in violet aromas and moderate grip. Beautiful black- and red-cherry, currant and baking-spice elements combine around a core of classic elegance and length, finishing in cigar box. The fruit is from four estate sites. Editors’ Choice.

JD93 Jeb Dunnuck

The appellation 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley would be a great buy for those looking for a terrific value in classic, impeccably made, age-worthy Cabernet under $100. Deep purple, with oustanding notes of blackcurrants, cedarwood, graphite, and leafy herbs, this medium-bodied, elegant 2018 has plenty of mid-palate depth, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. It's going to deliver loads of pleasure over the coming 15 years.

WS92 Wine Spectator
Juicy and forward, with enticing plum, boysenberry and plum compote flavors. Light licorice threads stitch up the finish, along with a flash of sweet spice. Drink now through 2027.
D92 Decanter
Softer and pleasantly vegetal on the nose, Turnbull’s entry-Cabernet is perennially one of the great value propositions in the Napa Valley. Its nose is floral and displays a bevy of dark fruit character with no overt new oak usage. Finishes crisp, satisfying and refreshing. It’s hard to ask for more at this price. Drinking Window 2024 - 2035
JS92 James Suckling

A rich, layered red with berries, some walnuts and spice. Full-bodied and chewy with lots of tannins now. Needs time to soften. Try after 2023.

WW91 Wilfred Wong of Wine.com
The 2018 Turnbull Cabernet Sauvignon is state of the art Napa Valley red. TASTING NOTES: This wine exhibits red and black fruit aroma and flavors, with an accent of licorice. Enjoy it with rosemary-infused, grilled lamb kebabs.

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the daily report.  Will definitely celebrate tortilla chip day.  Will celebrate the fine bartenders here at Lago Mar Resort.  Digital learning is ok in a pinch but no substitute for the real thing. The meal and drink sounds delicious. Prayers for everyone on our list especially @StLouisCruisersJen.  Cheers to all of you celebrating happy events today!

Good morning everyone. Keeping up with everything happening in the world today is really frightening. Hopefully Russia and the Ukraine can find a way to peace.

So, our male aide will be sleeping in but he can’t wait for the LTC company to drop Sams care so he can work privately for us and make more money. I doubt they will do that now, so that should give us six more months of paid care and then hopefully Sam will be much better and we can cut back some. I’m also hiring someone to help me with errands and paperwork because I am overwhelmed. It’s been almost 8 months and a swinging door of aides.
Stay safe everyone,

Carol

Good morning, thanks for the Daily!  We both love tortilla chips, but I haven't made them into nachos for a while; maybe it's time I did.  Digital learning is great, but is a poor substitute for in person learning.  Hooray for bartenders, especially those on our BHB's!

Prayers for Ukraine today; what's happening there is absolutely deplorable.  We've been to 3 places (Odessa, Yalta and Sevastopol), and enjoyed each one of them on HAL cruises.  I'm sure it will be a long time (if ever) that we get to return to any of them.

We had some good news yesterday, DH's angiogram is scheduled for March 7th, so we'll head to the hospital very early in the morning with his overnight bag in hand in the event (totally likely) that they have to insert a couple of stents.  Some of you may wonder why it's taken so long - well, our ICU beds have been taken up with Covid patients, and they have to have a bed available in case it's needed.  Hopefully this is a sign that this darn virus is starting to ease up, or that more people have been vacccinated.  Now that restrictions have been lifted, I will be able to spend the day at the hospital waiting for him, rather than nervously at home.

I like today's menu suggestion, but seriously, I'd take @rafinmd's menu exactly as he's ordered it.  Sure wish I was sharing a table with him at dinner tonight!  For us, we're having leftover meatloaf!  I sort of over estimated the amount of ground beef thawed out, so I figured I might as well make it into a couple of loaves.  I was nearly sleeping when DH came to bed last night, but I'm sure that by the smell of it, he had some in a sandwich as he watched the late news beside me.  LOL  I'm good with leftover meatloaf, but will likely make some air fried potatoes and steamed veggies to go along with it.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do.  We'll celebrate by clinking our glasses together to cheer on all who make up the happy list.  Stay safe, get your boosters, be well, wash your hands, wear your masks, and keep warm!

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Good morning everyone,

Thank you for the Daily @richwmn and the list @rafinmd.

I am so saddened by the events in Ukraine.  Those people need our prayers so very much.

It seems just as COVID is getting under control, something else has to come along to turn the whole world upside down.

As for the days,  I am not a big fan of tortilla chips, love digital learning, and respect bartenders.  However, my drinking these days is reduced to wine and water.  No carbonated drinks.  That has made a big difference in my digestive system.

I am going to pass on the dinner.  Too spicy.

The wine seems nice, but the price is a bit high.

The Cruzin 9 Tea, well maybe some day.

Love the quote.  Words to live by.  Then nothing ever gets done.

Prayers for all on the cares list and happy I’m not on it any more.  And cheers to those who are celebrating, especially if you are on a cruise.

Have a great day everyone and continue to pray for WORLD PEACE.

God Bless,

Terri

Good morning and thanks for the Daily Report.

Love tortilla chips.  Lots of students have had digital learning over the past couple of years, glad to see they are back in the classroom.  A big salute for bartenders, especially those on the BHBs.

Love the quote.

The meal suggestion sounds good.  Thanks for the recipe @dfishwe may have that this weekend.

The drink sounds good, so does the wine but I think it's a little over my price range.

Praying for the world.

Stay safe.

Good morning folks and thanks for the daily! Hugs and prayers for our care list, cheers for those celebrating.

35 degrees and raining here, so a typical Nashville February morning. That in mind, some more lovely sun, sand, and sea pics (and maybe some food pics from the marvelous restaurants at the Orient Beach Village) from St Martin/Maarten. Good morning, all!

Lots of things closed here today as the roads and sidewalks are ice covered with a topping of snow. The birds are already flocking around our feeders. Problem is, when they are empty, I do not want DH trying to walk out on the patio to fill them. He pretreated the walks and driveway with ice melt yesterday, but better safe than sorry. So I am huddled under some blankets reading this. It’s odd, my thermostat says the temp inside is the same as usual, but looking at that ice is making me shiver.

Interesting days. Love tortilla chips and appreciate a margarita made by a good bartender. I’ll share my favorite meme about virtual leaning. CF98121B-4A6F-40DF-B629-F005116C98C4.thumb.jpeg.dd702a4d53aa21513067dc4f4cb09c6d.jpegAlways been a fan of Mark Twain, a native Missourian.

Good food, good wine, good drink. Never made it to today’s destination.

Stayed up late reading news about Ukraine 💔 so many prayers need lifting up 🙏. Just glad there are celebrations to lift our spirits 🍷

Take care, all

I am so glad your DH has the angiogram  scheduled at last.It is also good that you can be there at the hospital.DD and I waited anxiously for news of DH years ago and it all worked  out beautifully. It was better than pacing at home!
