I had my physical yesterday and last Friday I did PCR test at our Health Department just to check before the physical. Something went wrong and the results got hung up at the lab but I did a self test Monday which was negative. Well, the results arrived this morning and they were DETECTED. I'll hold out hope something went wrong while the sample was missing but I still need to deal with this, plus I have some prescriptions at the pharmacy which I need to figure out. Roy Bah Humbug! I hope you get this figured out and it isn't serious. 14

marshhawk Posted December 21, 2022 #30 Share Posted December 21, 2022 Good Wednesday Morning Dailyites! Happy Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, it's all up hill from here. @rafinmdI hope you are feeling well, even though your tests say otherwise. @dfishall of those recipes look great! However it is a petit steak with roasted veggies tonight. @richwmnHave a great cruise! @Quartzsite CruiserWhat great news about your husbands recovery from this surgery! I heard something yesterday that I will share about Holiday stress. Instead of saying I have to,, say I get to. Consider the chores that you are doing, you are doing out of love and tradition, and you have the opportunity and ability to still be able to do these things. So now, I get to deliver a few Christmas gift today and tomorrow to people I have been unable to see recently. I doubt if I actually see them when I deliver their gifts, but I get to go out and do something nice.
Seasick Sailor Posted December 21, 2022 #31 Share Posted December 21, 2022 Good morning Daily-ites. Prayers lifted to our friends here and hoping Roy stays well. Happy Sandi your DD is improving. Also thinking of our Jacqui that her cruise this time is a winner. We are waiting in the slammer aka World Stage for turn around day and ship clearance. Our note last night said to be here at 9:00 but we saw the Billboard showing last guests embarking at 9:30. Should have stopped at Lido bar to grab a bloody Mary.. Wishing all a blessed day! 21

1ANGELCAT Posted December 21, 2022 #33 Share Posted December 21, 2022 Good cold and sunny morning. The vet visit yesterday revealed we have 2 boys. I really thought TT was a girl. Both have colds and are on meds for 2 weeks. The good news is the blood test for feline leukemia came back negative for both of them. Right now, Tux is trying to eat the tree. For anyone who lived in the Philadelphia area and watched Channel 6 , Jim Gardner is retiring tonight after 46 years as anchor. He is an icon and will be missed. Blessings and prayers to all on our lists.
Mtn2Sea Posted December 21, 2022 #34 Share Posted December 21, 2022 We stopped at Puerto Madryn, while aboard the Zaandam in 2018. We took an excursion through the Patagonia flatlands to Punta Tomba Nature Reserve, where we saw a thousand or so Magellanic penguins. The weather was surprisingly warm. 25

StLouisCruisers Posted December 21, 2022 #36 Share Posted December 21, 2022 Thanks @Seasick SailorJoy for the good wishes for DD. She's a fast healer thankfully. She says her other foot needs the same surgery but she plans to wait until summer break for that one. It was painful bunions that were the problem. DH's family has that and it is a hereditary condition. 13 minutes ago, Mtn2Sea said: We stopped at Puerto Madryn, while aboard the Zaandam in 2018. Thanks for the darling photos of the penguins that you saw while in Puerto Madryn. I believe that port was on the Grand South America/Antarctica that we cancelled.

quilty964 Posted December 21, 2022 #38 Share Posted December 21, 2022 Good morning, thanks for all of the info and pictures! I remember the 1st long Island iced tea I had, someone else in our group also had 1, and ended up dancing in the aisles at the bar/restaurant! Happy 1st day of winter-not really! Our forecast is for maybe 6 inches of snow, but very frigid temps and very strong winds. Not good if power goes out...especially for those power Co. Workers. Prayers for all that need them, and cheers for the rest. Praying for safe travels for all, we have 2 flying here from AZ on Saturday, and 2 more driving from Minneapolis. @rafinmdI hope your tests get cleared up. Have a great day, Karen 20

Rare TiogaCruiser Posted December 21, 2022 #40 Share Posted December 21, 2022 (edited) Good morning all, Happy “ Shortest Day of the Year” to everyone! Today’s plans include taking Dad for a medical appointment then to brunch at a restaurant that has taken over an old fish restaurant that was beloved by our family in the 60s. They closed some 5 or so years ago and up to the end, they had exactly the same menu ( design and items), same placemats, etc. The shocker was the portion size. It had not changed either, and by today’s excessive standards, it was small. There were also almost no vegetables. I’ll have to look on my hard drive for pictures of the port. We also went to Puerto Tombo in 2013. It was hotter than hell. One poor penguin was trying to cool himself down with his breathing. Veendam’s promenade deck smelled spicy due to the hot teak. And you could feel the heat coming through your shoes. @dfish You’ve got me with today’s recipes. I’m thinking I didn’t put enough pages in my Recipes to Try section of my planner. That’s going in with the crisped kale. @smitty34877 Take it easy- hoping you feel better really soon. Have a great day everyone! durangoscots Posted December 21, 2022 #44 Share Posted December 21, 2022 Good morning. It was actually warmer this morning - by about 12 degrees - than it has been. While we are due to get another drop in temps, the bulk of the bad weather, both cold and snow, is supposed to stay north and east of us. Denver is going to be miserable. Dogs seemed to enjoy their walk. The chicken looks really good. I think I am about meatloafed out. My schedule for today includes hauling stuff to recycling and thrift store. Not a very exciting day. I think I have all I need for Christmas dinner so I am going to avoid all stores. The number of dinner guests fluctuates daily between 6 and 8. Glad Diane is hosting.... she has a house and a large table. At my condo we would be sitting in doggie beds. Roy, hope that test result was residual from previous exposures. Life does get complicated these days. For those cruising, please keep the reports and pictures coming. They are much appreciated for those of us landlocked at this time. JazzyV Posted December 21, 2022 #46 Share Posted December 21, 2022 (edited) Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I'll salute Solstice Day as daylight will start to get longer. I was unfamiliar with Blue Christmas. No Humbug here, hopefully, but this holiday BFF and I will be remembering his recently departed Father. Love the quote. I like the meal, drink and wine! I have been to Puerto Madryn on my SA/Antarctica cruise in 2019. It's cold and sunny this morning. It's injection day. Steeler Nation is in mourning today. This weekend was the 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception football play, and the player who did it, Franco Harris, was to be honored and have his number retired at the game on Saturday. We learned this morning that he passed; he was only 72. The bridge that collapsed by me late January has been rebuilt in record time, helped by funds from the federal government. They were hoping to open it by Christmas, although there's still some elements to be finished (like the lights along it were delayed by supply chain issues). Now they say day by day; I hear helicopters overhead, which may be related to that or otherwise there's an accident on the nearby parkway. @grapau27 Thanks for the definitions of the days. @StLouisCruisers I hope the weather isn't too bad for your travels. @cat shepard I went to college in Boston and that's where I first started driving regularly; I told people I could drive anywhere after that. @rafinmd Prayers that everything works out to the good; I'm sure that test result was a shock. I hope you're feeling ok. @dfish Good news about Sue being able to travel safely. I did my final grocery shopping yesterday. @smitty34877 Take it easy today and take something for pain if you need it. @aliaschief Safe travels tomorrow. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List. Stay safe everyone. Copied from last year's post. Approaching Puerto Madryn At the Punta Tombo Penguin Reserve, where we spent our time ashore. Family meeting Guanaco Zaandam docked Beach by the dock Seals on the dock. I had a negative PCR test after returning from the Eurodam November 30, so it's hard to imagine covid could have come and gone so briefly.
