@Nickelpenny  Safe travels tomorrow, Penny.  That is a long drive from Tucson to Abilene, and part of the drive to Quartzsite.  I was curious how far it is between the two cities, so I looked it up on Google Maps.  I'm sure you are aware of the road closures on I-20 in the Midland-Odessa area.  They should be easier to navigate in a car as opposed to our 40ft. motorhome..  BTW, I grew up in Abilene.

Thanks!  I am lucky in that I absolutely love driving.  Crossed the country many times during my 6 years as a travel nurse.  I had seen the construction on I-20 so I thought I would take the slower route either through Alamogordo or through Carlsbad.  Whatever way hits my fancy when I get to Las Cruces.  If I didn't have to be in Richardson, TX by 3pm on Friday for a study I volunteered for (UofTX - Dallas) I probably wouldn't have driven that far.  But my little red girl will get me there ok!!  🙂

After spending 4 days in Amsterdam after the Norway cruise, I'm very tired of all the cigarette-and other-smoke. And so many cigarette butts all over the sidewalks. But we loved the buildings and canals. It has been over 40 years since we were last here. At the airport hotel now, ready for our early-morning check-in for our flight to Seattle. Take care everyone.

Morning everyone. Not much on our agenda today as everything is pretty much done. It’s hurry up and wait time. Dinner at friends tonight and airplanes and airports tomorrow as we head too Barcelona for our June 3 embarkation on the Azamara Journey.

Thanks Rich for the Fleet Report and to our Daily contributors.

Hello all,

@smitty34877happy to hear that surgery is done, and he can come home later!  Prayers for an easy recovery.

I think my mom used to make the coconut cookies, but the other ones with egg whites/meringue sound better to me!  We had Felafel when we were in Israel, IIRC they were good!  Protecting your hearing is a good thing.  DH has new hearing aids, the newer updates seem to be making things better for him...you can answer the phone and talk with Blue Tooth on them, just tap your ear when the phone rings!  I finished planting my tomatoes today, hoping they do well!  It's dry here, and our neighborhood just put out signs about watering restrictions.  Praying we get some rain soon!  Have a good evening, Karen

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

I don't like macaroons (coconut texture thing). Saving one's hearing is important, as is no tobacco. Good quote. I'll pass on the meal, drink and wine.

I haven't been to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

It's sunny and hot here. I wanted to do some yard work this AM, but didn't want to get sweaty, as I had an early afternoon haircut. I brought my stylist some chocolate from Europe and a mug, as he'd kindly cut my grass once while I was gone. Now I'm waiting for some shade, to go out and get started. The knees are not as bad today, thankfully. Laundry needs to be done too and a trip to the grocery store.

@MrSnuffleupagus Welcome to the Daily!

@superoma Thanks for the lists. I'll resume posting them tomorrow. I can relate, as I'm helping BFF go through his DD DF's house; unfortunately he saved strange things, and had bought multiples of many supplies. It will take months to get through it all.

@StLouisCruisers I'm glad you're feeling better. I've been meaning to ask what brand treadmill you have, as I may have to replace mine. Thanks for the great photos from Santa Cruz.

@kazu That was so nice of your neighbors to do.

@grapau27 Nice photos.

@RMLincoln I hope DH gets a good report from the glaucoma specialist.

@richwmn Thanks for the Tenerife photos.

@dfish I'm glad you're feeling well, and resuming the daily meal. Thanks to @0106 for stepping up in your absence.

@Nickelpenny Those macaroons look great! Safe travels tomorrow.

@marshhawk So sorry to hear Chuck is also positive; I hope you both feel better soon.

@aliaschief Safe travels tomorrow.

@ger_77 I'm glad they're investigating DH's angina and that the stress test was ok.

@Vict0riann Happy Birthday to Pat! Thanks for the photos.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Great photos.

@SusieKIslandGirl Safe trip home!

@smitty34877 Good news that DH's surgery went well. Now on to rest and recovery.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List.

Be well everyone.

Yet, when he mows the lawn - behind a self-propelled lawn mower that requires no pushing - he does, go figure!  He's going to be scheduled for another angiogram to see if any of the grafts have closed and if they have, they'll insert stents.  On the other hand, if the grafts from the sextuple bypass he had 25 years ago are still open, there's nothing that can be done except for him to use nitro spray in addition to the patch he's using now.   Because the angiogram is elective, it'll be at least 4 to 6 weeks until it's scheduled, so it seems there's nothing to worry about.

I’m glad to hear it sounds like there’s nothing to worry about Gerry.  Hope the angiogram can help solve the mystery.  FWIW, DD DH said there were too worse things to do for heart issues (or to start one) - shovelling and lawn mowing (self propelled or not).

@marshhawk so sorry to hear that your DH now has covid.  Praying that recovery can be quick and easy 🙏🏻

Good afternoon.  As expected, our high was higher than predicted. It is currently 90F.  We're lucky there is a 9mph breeze, and the humidity is relatively low, 45% with a due point of 64F.  Still, I would rather be in the shade than in the sun this afternoon.

Hello everyone. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet Report.

We docked in Skagway at about 5 am I believe.

We have three other ships in port with us. All aboard time is 8:30 pm. Going to explore the town.

Thinking of you all.

have a safe and healthy day.

Denise, enjoy Skagway, one of our favorite Alaskan ports.

Slight change in plans for tonight. Dear friends called and cancelled tonight’s dinner as the wife has come down with a horrible cold. We really appreciate them letting us know as being exposed to someone with that bad a cold is not the way to start a trip of any kind.

So it will be dinner out.

Enjoyed the pictures of today’s port of call. Visited there a few years ago. Beautiful place.
Bruce

Bruce, I'm glad your friends were thoughtful enough to let you know they would pass on dinner since the wife was sick.

Penny, I guessed you already had an alternate route in mind, and you'll miss downtown El Paso.  Good looking car.

Thanks to all the kind people that are dedicated to keeping this thread such a nice place to visit!

Belated Happy Birthday, @kazu Jacqui --you are blessed to have such nice neighbors!

@marshhawk I hope you & your DH are better soon.

I'm saying prayers for everyone on the concerns list and cheering for all that are celebrating!

I had an appointment with the cardiologist this morning and he agrees with the cardiac surgeon that the valve replacement can wait until I'm done with traveling in October, as long as I remain asymptomatic. Yay!

So @JazzyV Vanessa, I think you can remove me from the concerns list. But I appreciate the prayers from everyone & I'm positive that they made the difference!

I'm getting my covid booster tomorrow - not taking any chances!

I'm sorry you have yard work to do while you're still recovering from your trip and recent leg problems.  But nice to see you back here on the Daily. 🙂

Our treadmill is a Nordictrack.  DH talked to the technician he spoke to last week to tell him we had the new belt and to set up a time, and all of a sudden he has a medical problem and is unavailable to work for a while.  I wonder if it's Covid?  The customer service people at Nordictrack were aware of the technician's health issue and said they will assign someone else but I think they will be further away, like Atlanta.  More delays I bet!  Really missing having our own equipment in our home which makes it much more convenient.

Good still sunny and warm evening. It’s supposed to be near 90 tomorrow and hotter on Friday. I’m not happy about the message on my phone this afternoon from the electric company stating that they plan to do maintenance on the system tomorrow from 9am to 2 pm, so 5 hours without power on one of the hottest days of the year 😱. Will need to get the ice chest out and get some ice in the morning.

Blessings and prayers to all on our lists.

Edi, I'm glad the cardiologist agreed your surgery can wait until October after your cruises.
