Good morning from Falmouth Jamaica.  Thank you for the lovely photos Sandi!  We are going ashore for a while today. Last year we had a different berth and there was a Jamaican government warning about crime so we stayed aboard.

Bon voyage @Suslor🍾🏝️🛳️

Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for the mention of my DD DS Nancy's heavenly birthday.  I think of her constantly and appreciate you remembering her too.  ❤️

Ann @cat shepard I'm glad to hear the secret decoder ring is still working well.  It does come in handy some days!

Graham @grapau27 I see by your posted explanation of I am a Mentor Day that you agree that it will be celebrated tomorrow.  Plenty of time to get ready for it!  I see you're having cold weather over there today.  You need to get out of there and head someplace warm!  😉  Have a good weekend!

Joy @Seasick Sailor prayers for an easy time with Covid for your niece and her fiancé, and your poor friend taking several falls yesterday.  Hope they are unharmed and not too sore from it all!

Happy heavenly birthday to Nancy your DD DS.

Happy Saturday!  It's a snowy day here, maybe an inch or two expected, and then more possibly on Tuesday.  The forecasters aren't sure what will happen yet.  Thanks for all who share and care here.  The Antarctica pictures are great!  Prayers for all who need them.

Today, DGD has her 1st basketball game.  It was fun watching them last year, they all made lots of progress as the season progressed.  Today is the day the Christmas tree and Dickens Village get put away.  Always a sad day...yesterday I helped dismantle a tree at our school, the Pre-K kiddos came by and said "Bye-Bye"to the tree!

Today is also Standard Poodle Day, here is a pic of our guy, Cooper!  Have a good day today.  @dfishI'll have to try the meatball recipe from yesterday, I did save it!

Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report.  With the confusion on what day it was, I had to go look at my computer's date to see if it was Sat or Sunday.  Too early for confusion!!!  LOL!!  I made instant pot beans yesterday so I was ahead of the curve 🙃.  I refuse to not enjoy my life so I guess I resemble the quote!  No way would I put butternut squash on a pizza; there are certain things that should not be on a pizza and squash is one of them.  I do like the sound of the drink, pass on the wine, and have never been to New Zealand.  What an interesting date in history.

We are under a freeze warning until 0900 again and presently it is 33F.  I should get up to mid 50s under sunny skies but it is still cold.  It stays dark later and I will enjoy it when the sun starts coming up earlier.

Yesterday I was a slug but can't do it today.  I am still "sore" from PT but it is the gym today and then off to go get my little red bomb (my car) her 35,000 mile service.  Then off to the grocery store to restock the frig and pantry.

Need to pick up some bug treatment for my clothes I ordered from REI in prep for my Amazon cruise. No word on my visa but it is now a moot point.  I wonder if they will continue to process them.

Martina has been sitting on me ever since I got back.  I think she missed me.

Thoughts for all and cheers to those celebrating.

Have a great day everyone!IMG_4037.thumb.JPG.3b05068a56cd32c4d889be3d1395fd59.JPG

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the daily updates.  Three important days to choose from. Interesting quote although I prefer to live my own life not some other one.  No to the meal suggestion and the drink.  We’ll need to keep our wits about us as we navigate our way back to Boston today.  Prayers for everyone on our prayer list today.  Cheers to those who are celebrating happy events!

Safe travels. My nephew in Charlestown doesn’t expect much snow, so if you can make it to Logan you may be home free. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Getting ready here for the snow storm. For us that just means staying in and adjusting our meal timing to the earlier hours they have so the high school aged servers won’t have to be out on the roads during the storm. So today’s meal of the day will be mid-day, tomorrow will be pick-up in the afternoon only. Works for me!  We’re glad to be staying in. It’s our first snowstorm here. We’ll see what really comes, and if the power holds. They’re talking 5-8 inches of heavy snow.

Have been getting things done!  Yesterday was chock full - trip to new car insurance place for paperwork for our appt next week for NJ DMV for licenses and plates.  Have about an hour’s drive west to an office that does both!  Then we did initial visits with our new primary care physician. That was great!  On campus, so handy. Followed by a stop at the pharmacy also on campus!  DH has succeeded in getting both his eye drops prescriptions here- one got transferred from Maryland (very slow) but the other he was able to get a new script ordered directly to this pharmacy. Next steps for me are getting appointments for the screenings I canceled before we moved. Some specialists come into the campus medical suites so I will call next week to see how that will work out for gyn and dermatology. Imaging for mammo and colonoscopy will be off campus.  I’ll try for the medical complex that our transportation dept visits almost daily for future needs but for now we’ll drive. The list of address changes keeps growing, and there’s a growing list of taxes to change too - estimated state taxes. I’m SO glad we moved while we’re able to do all that is involved!

Thanks Sandi for sharing your photos. We were in Milford Sound twice in Dec 2013. First aboard Celebrity Eclipse, then after we disembarked in Aukland we rented a camper van and toured for 25 days. We spent a few days camped in Milford next to the lodge (sold out which is why we did the camper van). Our kayak trip in the Sound was canceled due to a bad storm but we got to see the place running with waterfalls. Stunning!  We did have a day of a small boat tour which was magnificent- looks much different from the water than from the upper decks of a cruise ship!  Yes, they tuck the bow under a waterfall as shown in one of Sandi’s pictures.

Tomorrow I’ll share about mentoring, if we have power🤞
Squash is squash, and pizza is pizza. Not mixing them.
I moved my Magi figures into the nativity… they’ve been off to the East!  I used to move them daily around the edges of the room coming in from the East!

Blessings to all in need, all celebrating and all traveling!  Thanks for being here!
Maureen

Good morning. It is cloudy with mixed precipitation here but lots of snow for my Massachusetts and New Hampshire families. People are excited about even the possibility of snow here as it has been two years since there was real snow.

We eat a lot of beans here and there are usually dried beans soaking awaiting their turn in the soup pot.I remember my mother insisting that all decorations had to be put away on January 6. We did not feel like putting any up this year so we’re spared that activity. I mentored students on and off at the various facilities I worked in and it was rewarding to watch practitioners evolve over the weeks they were with us.I have not been to the port and no to pizza with squash. There are limits!

Bon Voyage to @Suslor!

We had a few issues yesterday and into last night. I am waiting for the hospice nurse. I hope she can help today. It is always harder on a weekend to get advice.

@ger_77, I was glad to see that your shoulder does not require surgery and hope the PT helps. I am also glad that you don’t have to shovel your snow yourselves.

@Seasick Sailor, I know what you mean about being homesick for Oliver. The  Dog sitter sends photos and they make me miss Fred even more. I am sure he has plenty of love to spread around and will be overjoyed to see you.

Have a great day everyone

The blue jackets are crew. They all have an opportunity to go on the zodiac tours and landings at some point if they wish. One of our waiters in the DR got to go twice in Jan/Feb 2023 and was so excited. He did stand in line for several hours to await the opportunity both times. They go only after everyone else.

Too bad you were unable to land at Salisbury Plain. The first time there, we could not but were able to land nearby at a spot that was not as populated, but a wonderful way to spend Christmas Day! I'll post a picture of that area as well as one or two from Salisbury Plain where we were able to land on our last trip. South Georgia is amazing!

From near Salisbury Plain........

It was a bit muddy!TheSalisburyPlain(77).thumb.JPG.5cbd986419ca363c48a6db12a9dde721.JPG

That might explain why I'd never seen the blue parkas before.  In thinking back on how crowded it was on shore, and the mud and "muck" there must have been there I'm a little relieved to have seen it from the Zodiac.

Cooper is looking rather regal with such great posture.  Happy Standard Poodle day to him.  Today will probably be the day we take down our Christmas tree.  I see a couple of people on our block have their decorations out still and assume they were waiting for Epiphany.

Nice collection of days - I've been a mentor and have had good mentors. Like the quote, pass on the meal (squash), possibly try the drink and wine, not been to the port.

Somehow missed roll call but we will be making the two hour drive to San Diego shortly to board the Koningsdam for a little Mexico adventure. This will be our first time repeating a ship, we were on the Koningsdam in October 2021 for a different Mexico itinerary.

We’ve done several Mexico cruises but this will be our first time visiting La Paz and Loreto, so looking forward to it.

Everyone have a great day

Maybe we should think of this dish as a flatbread instead of a pizza.

Thank you all for the bon voyage messages. Now I feel really bad that I didn’t let Jacqui @kazu know that we had to cancel almost at the last minute. We took our 14 yr old DGS on his second cruise in December, 7 days in the Caribbean, and on day two I was diagnosed with Covid 🤪. After almost four years of avoiding it, getting all the shots, masking and hand washing it finally caught up with me. I spent the entire cruise in bed but my DGS had a blast and thankfully neither he nor my DH caught it.
we have canceled the B2B on February third as well and rebooked the 41 day Far east Collector and Coral Triangle cruise in December to replace it. Now besides working on getting my strength back I’m unpacking our suitcases and clearing the guest room bed of everything we had laid out to repack for the Asia cruise with a one week turnaround. Maybe I’ll just leave it and pick what I need from there for our March Panama Canal cruise!
Anyway, a long way of saying I appreciate your support. Susan

Back on ship already.  I do have difficulty posting my photos as I do all my Internet from my phone.  I am enjoying our balcony for.a bit prior to lunch in the Lido.   GO RAVENS !  Sorry Vanessa.

Good afternoon.

It's cold here again.  Well relatively, I suppose, not that we get much snow or ice, but when it gets to 0°c/32°f, we really suffer.  Currently it is 4°c/39°f and will dip below zero c tonight.

Some of the temperatures and weather that you guys get each year is beyond my comprehension.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
