Am I correct to assume that the Chef’s Table is at a surcharge like other lines or is this the name Azamara assigns to special dinners included? thanks 🙂 Chef’s Table has 10-12 guest and it’s $95:00 per person. Guest in Suite’s have free dining in Italian and Steak Specialty Restaurants. 19

Rare 0106 Posted April 12 #29 Share Posted April 12 On this International Day for Street Children, we must remember members of our community who are less fortunate. As a teacher, I had several homeless students every year. Luckily, my school provided resources for these students, things we take for granted like the ability to shower and launder their clothes in addition to food and other services. For many, school was their safest space. 29
dfish Posted April 12 #30 Share Posted April 12 Good morning, everyone! We have another chilly rainy day in store here in mid-Michigan. The high is only 46F and rain is supposed to last all day. I started the day by spilling a full cup of coffee all over the desk and floor. The fortunate part is most of the carpet was covered by a plastic mat for the chair. What a mess. And what a waste of good coffee! Not much on the agenda for today. Farkle is postponed until tomorrow as tonight DB and DSIL will be going to their grandson's birthday celebration. Probably a good day for movies and popcorn after the gym. I'll take a pass on today's meal due to the carb load. But, it might be good as a side dish with small servings. This first recipe is for the instant pot or top of the stove. https://www.skinnytaste.com/lentil-curry/ This recipe is a bit more complicated, but I bet the flavor is great. https://www.chelseasmessyapron.com/lentil-curry/ Here's one more recipe that is somewhere between the first two on complexity. https://www.recipetineats.com/lentil-curry-mega-flavour-lentil-recipe/ I hope this finds everyone well and wish you a wonderful day. 17
Quartzsite Cruiser Posted April 12 #31 Share Posted April 12 Good morning from a clear but cool central Texas. It is 50F heading to 79F this afternoon, with sunny skies and 10 to 14 mph winds. It's one of those days that I can start out in shorts, and be cool or put on jeans and change into shorts later. Such a first world problem. It is also laundry day with a trip to the bank, and maybe to drop off the car to get the brake lights working again after the shop forgot to reconnect them after working on the brakes last year. Wow, that was a big wind on Mt. Washington at 231 mph. International human space flight is challenging. Street children need more than one day to bring awareness to the world. The quote is a good one, but probably not always easy to follow. We'll skip the meal and the drink today. The wine might be worth trying. Living in Texas, we have been to Cozumel several times, with all but one being in the pre-digital age. The US was shocked in 1961 when Yuri Gagarin became the first human to orbit the earth. @aliaschief Thanks for the great pictures from your tour, Bruce. The dinner looks interesting. @seagarsmoker Thanks for the pictures of Cozumel. @StLouisCruisers Sandi, I hope you get some answers and a solution to your cough today. @grapau27 Graham, thank you for the explanation of Big Wind Day. Thanks for your pictures of Cozumel. @kazu Jacqui, I hope the foot nurse specialist can help you. @Heartgrove Jack, I'm glad Sue and her sister made it to Cozumel. @AncientWanderer Maxine, we enjoyed our day in Yokohama when it was an unexpected port due to needing to take on fuel. I'm glad you enjoyed the city too. Did you make it to Chinatown? Lenda 19 3

Quartzsite Cruiser Posted April 12 #33 Share Posted April 12 We have been to Cozumel many times, both as trips to the island and on cruises, but not a BHB. Our last time there was in 2002 on Rhapsody OTS with DH's brother and DSIL. That day we did a snorkeling tour and never went into town. These are the two pictures I posted on December 10, 2022. They were taken from the catamaran of the shore line. It's a great place to go snorkeling. Lenda 24
Seasick Sailor Posted April 12 #34 Share Posted April 12 Good morning Dailyites from a calm cool 48 degree morning warming to 82. Thinking of all our Daily friends and family this morning. Hoping Tana, Terry, and Vanessa got some sleep. A prayer for Sandi the doctor gets to the bottom of your cough. I'm sure Red Neck Bob will have an opinion on big wind day.. 17

Seasick Sailor Posted April 12 #36 Share Posted April 12 Well, I wasn't finished! Jeez Last night we had a huge taco truck feast. The pulled pork carnitas were outta this world, black beans, cilantro rice, 3 salsas, and all the fixings. I had seconds as did the girls. Tonight's dinner is TBD. Since it looks like a beautiful day, we may go downtown for lunch. I came in 3rd on our card game. Boo.. Our friend Ron who has multiple issues, was diagnosed Tuesday for colitis. This poor man can't catch a break. I received our water fountain yesterday and will hook up the pump this morning and get it going. I'll post a picture later. Wishing everyone a peaceful, lovely day. Enjoy your weekend. Blessings to you all.
grapau27 Posted April 12 #37 Share Posted April 12 2 hours ago, StLouisCruisers said: Good morning friends! It is 50F now and we should have a sunny but windy day with a high of 68. Yesterday was quite windy with the winds howling. The next several days should be sunny as well so I hope these winds calm down. Thanks to Jacqui @kazu and Roy @rafinmd for posting the Fleet Report and Daily as well as the fleet location maps for Rich @richwmn today. How appropriate that we are recognizing Big Wind Day after mentioning how windy it's been here lately. Human space flight is being held on the same day as the first person to orbit the earth back in 1961. Anytime you think of homeless children is a sad day. No comment for that quote, a lentil curry doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy, another questionable cocktail, and I'd say that is a red wine from the description. So I'll pass on all the food and beverages today. Thanks anyway to our dear F&B Department ladies Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope, and Ann @cat shepard. Prayers said on the treadmill for all here on our Care list, DB, the twin baby boys, friends Scott, Susan and Sandy, the people of Ukraine and Israel, the poor hostages still held, and our troops in the region. Hurray for those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, those cruising and all our friends here on the Celebration list. Good luck to @Mr. Boston selling his home and good luck to Dixie @summer slope and George in getting reimbursed for the totaled golf cart. I hope you are both fully recovered soon. Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for the great lists, and I'm counting down the days with you for that surgery. I'm seeing the ENT this afternoon and hope he has some answers to my cough. I'm not that optimistic but gotta give it another chance. The port today is Cozumel, Mexico. This was the port before on Dec.10, 2022 and June 28, 2023. Here are the links for you. My photos will follow. We've visited Cozumel and the environs 3 times. We will probably get some groceries this morning and then later today that appointment I mentioned. I hope this doctor is an on time physician since the appointment isn't until 3:15. I probably won't get a lot done on the Christmas stocking work, but got quite a lot done yesterday. I am pretty much finished with the first lamb and kitten. Hope everyone has a good day today. Stay safe and keep well! I hope your ear nose and throat doctor can find a permanent cure this afternoon for your cough Sandi. 16
Rare ottahand7 Posted April 12 #38 Share Posted April 12 Good morning from very windy Michigan. It will be gusting up to 45 mph here. It was pretty windy in the later part of round 1 at Augusta yesterday. I have been enjoying watching human space flight since Alan Shepherd made the first launch into space. Street children are sadly a problem throughout our world not just third world countries. A wonderful, positive quote. We were in Cozumel for the first time in February this year on the Eurodam. I agree with Debbie the lentils would be a good side dish. My old friend who lived near me in MD made a terrific Dal to go with her savory meals. I pass on a Stone Raft. The Duoro wine sounds wonderful. Thanks for researching these for us each day. Thanks for the cares and celebrations reports Vanessa. Prayers for everyone on our list needing prayers for healing, especially Tana, Vanessa and Chuck. Prayers for all in war zones through no fault of their own, Ukraine, the hostages and the innocents in Gaza. My missing case of wine from 10 days ago will be delivered today I am promised. It will be an inside day here with the cold. I hopefully will have wine to store and work on my Zoom presentation for next week. Have a lovely Friday. cunnorl Posted April 12 #39 Share Posted April 12 Good Morning from a very busy and chaotic day at the airport Sitting at the gate, waiting to board. It is insanely busy here. Glad I had TSA precheck. Glad I wasn’t traveling yesterday, many trips cancelled due to the crazy weather. Trying out my Apple AirTags for the first time. So far, so good. Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend. Stay safe and enjoy today Charlene
Rare ottahand7 Posted April 12 #40 Share Posted April 12 Our trip to Cozumel was a fun cooking class at a day trip resort which was a HA excursion . We cooked, enjoyed cocktails and relaxed at the All Inclusive resort. I would do it all over again. It was so fun and got to know people from our ship. We wish it was at the beginning of the cruise not at the end. 27
Rare Vict0riann Posted April 12 #41 Share Posted April 12 Good afternoon, Dailyites, from the cold and windy mid-Atlantic! We are leading a fairly quiet life here on board the Nieuw Statendam, mainly reading, chatting, eating and sleeping. My one main observation has been that they are using tiny scoops in the Lido to serve the ice cream. They must be an inch and a quarter in diameter, so I’m going to have to ask for two! Jacqui, I noticed the Fleet Report says we are heading for Brest, actually we are en route to Cobh, Ireland. Brest was taken off the itinerary some time ago. We’re looking forward to seeing @VMax1700 and Mrs. VMax on the 17th. we have been invited to the Mariner Recognition Event tomorrow, to be followed by a Luncheon. I will take pictures. I haven’t done much of that so far.
durangoscots Posted April 12 #42 Share Posted April 12 Good morning. Sunny here and temperature around 45F. Supposed to get to low 70's this afternoon before it cools off a bit the next few days. Winds seem to come and go. Yesterday was a highly successful day as my 2 luggage forward bags arrived in the afternoon and even better.... I got my taxes completed, sent, and they have been accepted!!! I will start unpacking this afternoon but the pace of everything is slowed now. More time for dog walking, reading and getting things reorganized. I think the trip from San Diego to Durango wore me out more than anything else has done and I still sometimes feel the ship move. Strange feeling. Take care all and for those on the sea.... enjoy!!!! Susan

Thanks ever so much, Bruce. I thought it might be like the old Chef’s Table that used to be on HAL. The price is actually quite in line with what HAL used to charge, surprisingly. 56 minutes ago, Vict0riann said: Jacqui, I noticed the Fleet Report says we are heading for Brest, actually we are en route to Cobh, Ireland. Rare Nickelpenny Posted April 12 #44 Share Posted April 12 Happy Friday to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Whoa on the wind, I remember the first US flight into space and walking on the moon, and street children are not just a third world problem. Yes on the quote. The meal looks absolutely fantastic so I think I will make it today - kind of combining all 3 of the recipes. Of course, it will be in my Instant Pot! Pass on the drink and wine and never been to Cozumel. I don't remember the Russian flight but it made the US work harder to make our space program one of the best. AZ spring is in full bloom with the temps heading up to the high 80s with lots of sunshine. Soon I will be off to a BLS class; I have taken it so many times but this will probably be my last. I bought a different kind of bird feed - one with a lot less "filler". I think the birds like it as they don't drop the filler onto the ground. It is nice to watch and hear the birds and also the hummingbirds. Thanks for all nice words on Martina's picture box. Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone! 25 1
