Thank you Jacqui, thank you Roy, thank you Debbie, thank you Vanessa, thank you Ann, and thank you Dixie for all your work.  And thank you everyone for being here!

So sad to read about the crewmember on the Rotterdam. Prayers for their family members.

Sue and Louie arrived home later than expected last night. Their SWA flight was delayed over an hour for mechanical problems. Sue did bring home my Bronze Medallion which I should have received if I had been aboard. I have a second chance since we decided it still isn't Sam's time and booked what will be my birthday cruise on the MSC Seashore. Actually it will be two weeks earlier but my birthday is so close to Memorial Day it makes travel difficult. We had the MSC Transatlantic cancelled for Fall so we quickly decided to do this cruise to use a deposit.

Stay Safe, and prayers for those in need.

- Jack

Professor's comments on my presentation last week:

Brilliant work, Paul! You gave us a feast of insight last evening, carefully showing the complex layers of considerations (ethical, social, ecological, and political) around the questions emerging from the renewable energy transition taking place in your upstate NY context. Your research is comprehensive and thorough (with excellent citation practices both on your slides and in the bibliography); and your ethical analysis sets a new standard for this assignment as you weave together both philosophical and religious considerations around the pressing questions at hand.

Good morning from sunny and warm Southwest Michigan.  Thanks for the Daily and Maps Jacqui and Roy.   Through those reports I can see our friend Richard aka Santa Claus is beginning to wind down his 4 months on the Eurodam, heading towards Cartagena means Panama Canal soon.    Laughter is always worth celebrating in this world full of sorrow.   Dolphins bring so much joy to our lives.   I don't agree with the Woolf quote if the libraries are locked up how would one get their knowledge she claims she could rely upon.   I will pass on the high carb soup but the classic martini and the Chilean wines are wins.  I have not been to Hiroshima so look forward to other's photos.

Vanessa, thank you for the Cares and Celebrations reports.   I pray you get some relief for you right leg pain soon.  Prayers for Terri, Tana and the rest of your family as all of you soldier on.  Prayers for continued healing for Baby Murphy.   Prayers for all in war zones,  Israel, Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza.    @Denise T what a terrible situation.  One of my former employees had to move because her neighbor neighbor was bat s__t crazy.   @StLouisCruisers Your DD's Cinco de Mayo tree is so creative and especially since it can light up too!

A fun day of sports yesterday. Today is doing a lot of outside work and probably spreading my mulch too.  Have a lovely Sunday!  Nancy

Good morning from central Texas.  It is 66F with a predicted high of 81F.  We will have clouds and some sun with 10 to 15mph winds.  Currently, we have heavy clouds and 10 mph winds from the south.  I'll be out later this morning to get the yard work done, followed by an excursion into the attic.  There are stacks of last years financial papers to be stored.  We may have time to start attacking all the stuff from the old motorhome that needs a new home.  Not an exciting day, but a busy one.

Laughter, which really is the best medicine, and dolphins are good days to celebrate.  No ex-spouses in this house.

The Virginia Woolf quote is good and still relevant.

We'll pass on the meal, drink and wine today.

We have been to Hiroshima twice on the old Regal Princess in 2000 and Coral Princess in 2018.   It is a nice city to explore with a somber reminder of the horrors of war.

@aliaschief  Cochin is an interesting place to visit, and I hope your Azamazing evening is lovely.

@cruising sister  Lorraine, I'm glad you are home and getting settled back into the real world.  Your Antarctica expedition on Silver Seas sounds nice.  Thanks for the update on Murphy.  I'm sorry she needed to be hospitalized, but I'm glad she is getting stronger, and hope her long recovery continues to go well.

@Denise T  Denise, I'm sorry about your neighbor.  It is never good to not feel safe in your own home, but it's also bad that one person can force others to feel they have to move.

@Heartgrove  Jack, I'm glad Sue and her sister are home safely.  Congratulations on the new cruise booking for your birthday.  That is good news that Sam is doing so well.

@kochleffel  Paul, congratulations on the good comments from your professor.

Our first visit to Hiroshima was in 2000 on a cruise from Vancouver, to Osaka on the old Regal Princess.  Unfortunately, all my pictures are pre-digital.  That day, we took the tram from the dock to the Peace Park with the skeleton of the A Bomb Dome, the only building left standing after the bomb was dropped as a reminder of the terrible destructive power of the atomic bomb.  We also visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, in addition to wandering through the Peace Park.

Our second visit was on Coral Princess in 2018, where we docked at the new cruise terminal further from town.  We took the free shuttle to the train station, and the train to the Peace Park.  We had planned to basically do what we had done 18 years earlier, but the couple with us had other ideas.  After seeing the A Bomb Dome, we headed to Hiroshima Castle.

Thanks so much for the Bon Voyages from all of you 🥰

We are here at the Marriott Marquis that is located at Time Square.
Our first time to the Big Apple although I was actually here 50 years ago for a college trip but that was a life time ago 😂

I have to admit with all the travels we have done NYC is very different for us. Almost a bit intimidating and that says a lot since we live in  touristy Las Vegas.

We do hope to do this cruise again and next time stay in NYC a bit longer and take in a show.

This hotel is amazing, we are impressed with the hotel room that I booked through NCL

I have decided not to do a Live From, the NCL Board is not like this HAL Board. Everyone is family here. While we may roam to another cruise line we are always at home here.

That says so much for everyone here.
I know some of you are friends on FB and I will be reporting there and doing my What’s for dinner on NCL. You can find me there.

We have been cruising a lot this is number 5 since last September on the Westerdam. Although we are returning to the Westerdam in August 😁

We are enjoying breakfast , while the buffet is expensive but it’s NY it’s actually really good with amazing bagels 😋

Good Sunday Morning Dailyites!  I will celebrate the ex in ex spouses.  If I can't find something to laugh about during a day, I smile at the end of the day, knowing that tomorrow may be different.  But with the new Tigger in the house,  I find I laugh a lot.  I like dolphins, I spent one afternoon on the Legend cruising back to Vancouver watching the smaller Harbour dolphins swimming and jumping in front of the ship.  They bring me joy.

The computer says its 53 degrees and the weather girl said it will get up into the low 80's. Short season is coming!

The driveway is done.  Our neighbor said to DH, you should have told me, we could have done it for 500.  DH said to him, I am too old to do this job, I watched and it was way out of my league. We cant drive on it until Monday evening, so hopefully the weather will hold and be warm and somewhat dry. They went through 50 bags of concrete.

I got a call yesterday from my bosses assistant, who asked if I was available to work for a small campaign.  I said yes, for two reasons, one if I do nothing, I have to clean house, and two, I need the money.  Cincinnati opera summer season, and I am so hoping that they allow me to work this campaign. If I get the job, it starts on the 22nd for one to 2 weeks.  Please send positive vibes to Mark in LA for me.

Pass on the meal, drink and wine, not been to the port. I look forward to seeing pictures, thanks @Quartzsite Cruiser for the ones you posted.

So sorry to hear about the passing of family members and close friends of the Dailyites, along with the sad news about the crew on the Rotterdam.

In better news it was wonderful to read about the exciting trips people are taking and to travel along on the Azamara world cruise  with @aliaschief to see places I will probably never visit.

@cruising sister We did the expedition cruise to Antarctica on Silversea and loved it.  You will have a fabulous time.  Be prepared to see the most incredible scenery and wildlife.

@Denise T sorry to hear about your neighbor.  The police usually do nothing at all but if the harassment continues and you feel unsafe you may want to look into getting a restraining order from the court.  I am not sure of the requirements in your state but it is something you may want to consider.  Also though Vermont is lovely you may want to look at its neighbor New Hampshire which has much better taxes for retirees.  Vermont is a high tax state and New Hampshire right next store has essentially no taxes on your income. My DS and DIL and grandkids live in Southern NH and love it. You are also only about 1 hour away from Boston so if you want to visit a big city you are right there with a good airport as well and also some of the best medical care in the nation.

I am not celebrating my ex though we do get along and celebrate all of our family events together.  The best thing to come from our marriage was our wonderful children and now our grandkids.

I wish everyone a good day and happy cruising.  Thank you to all of the Dailyites who keep this wonderful thread going day after day.

Greetings to The Dailiyites!!

Thank you for all the information and photos and funnies!!!  Such a JOY to come and read through this thread!!!

My child was in Japan last year and the photos are too familiar to me.  River had a wonderful time there!!  They went solo -- no tour guides or plans.  Their first night in Tokyo was a 1:30am run to the 7-11 for sushi, walking, by themselves for three blocks there and three blocks back, middle of the night, strange town...  BUT felt totally safe!!

I was a nervous and anxious Mom -- but they just had fun and toured and enjoyed!!!

Good morning, everyone!

We are going to have sunny skies and warm temperatures here in mid-Michigan today.  That makes me happy.  I'll gladly celebrate laughter, the best medicine!  Dolphins are great.  The only ex spouse here is Sue's and I think she celebrates the ex part of that relationship.  The only thing on the agenda today is cleaning out the garage and getting stuff to the curb for large item pick up tomorrow.

It is so sad about the crew member who went overboard from Rotterdam.  I hope the crew member evacuated for medical reasons recovers quickly.  How awful for the rest of the crew.

The bean and barley soup would be great on a cold rainy day.  I would probably skip it due to the carb count.  One bowl is double my allowance.  There is a good amount of fiber in the soup.  If you want more protein, add in some sausage.  https://www.eatingwell.com/recipe/252413/bean-barley-soup/

This next recipe has all kinds of suggestions for types of beans you can use.  You can also add other veggies to the mix, cutting the carb count a bit.  It also calls for pancetta which adds a wonderful flavor to the mix.  https://streetsmartnutrition.com/great-northern-bean-soup-with-barley/

This last one is for the vegans in the family.  The avocado is a nice touch.   https://plantbasedonabudget.com/barley-and-bean-soup/

I hope this finds all of you well and wish you a wonderful day.

I think one of these recipes would be better than my can of Campbells!!!

Happy Sunday to each of us!!!

Good morning!

My re- entry into the real world has been exhausting. I have about half of my luggage unpacked. My luggage forward arrived Friday and I shoved them in the office to deal with next week. The grands were so excited to see me it made me cry. I did get my taxes done and I owe a lot to both state and federal due to my DS estate disbursement. Molly has adjusted to being back with me. It is amazing how fast dogs get back to their routine. I had a great time on the cruise. I enjoyed my CC friends and I am so glad I had someone I knew I could meet before the cruise started. Thanks to Sandy’s Antartica pics I booked an expedition on Silver Seas for the end of December.

A quick update on Murphy. She has had one hospitalization since her discharge for extra fluid in her lungs. It was a short stay and she is now on a diuretic. She continues to get stronger but has a long road ahead of her.

I will catch up on the daily slowly. Prayers or all in need. Have a great day.

I know your expedition cruise to Antarctica will be amazing and something you'll never forget.  Congrats!  Best wishes and prayers for little Murphy, that she continues to recover and get stronger.

Happy Sunday. Thanks for the daily and fleet reports.

Sunny today. High in the 70s. Today I will be doing taxes and hope to get outside for a bit. Yesterday our next-door neighbor who is the neighborhood troublemaker (it seems that anyone who moves next door to him, eventually moves) called the police on my sister and I. He accused us of cutting branches off of his trees and placing the branches next to his mailbox. We have not down this and he has been accusing us of this for the past several years. Even though legally we can trim any of his trees hanging onto our property, we don't because he becomes angry and aggressive. Last year, my sister was mowing the grass, and he came out of his house yelling at her and threatening her with physical violence. Police were called and nothing was done. We now have a security system, and I will be purchasing additional cameras. We are documenting everything. We may have to move. I work from home, and I am beginning to not feel safe in my home anymore. we are considering the logistics of a move, whether to another area here in PA or we have been thinking about retiring to Vermont. We shall see.

Anyway, enough about that.

Thank you too Elizabeth.  So nice of you to say about the tree.  So, if your lake isn't too big in the back yard maybe the lawn guy could mow around it and at least make the rest of the yard look presentable.  You may have to put a French drain in that low spot.  We had one in one of our St. Louis backyards.  When we sold the house the new owners dug up the whole lawn and put a pool in.  🏊‍♀️

What a morning to wake up to!!  It may be hard to laugh today but I will try - turning off the tv might help!  Oh, how I love dolphins and I will celebrate the "ex" in ex-spouse(s)!!!  Love the quote and yes to the meal, drink and wine!!  Yum!!  Never been to Hiroshima.  Historic days in history.

Another beautiful day here; presently 57F heading up to high 80s under sunny skies without a cloud to be seen.  We will hit the 90s this week and summer is soon to be upon us.

@Denise T your situation sounds frightening. I second getting a restraining order!

@LAFFNVEGAS Bon Voyage

Sad to read about the crew on the Rotterdam.  Condolences to family and crew.

Not sure of my plans today but I have to try and re-pot the one and only plant I have; I kill plants usually.  I am keeping my fingers crossed this will work as the plant was a gift after I obtained my National School Nurse certification 7 years ago.  I was around the 27th RN in the State of AZ to obtain it.

Thoughts for those who have lost friends and family members lately.  Cheers to those celebrating.  Have a great day everyone!

@Denise Twhy wait for retirement ?, and while I am from a Vermont family, I think the idea of NH is actually a bit better.  Lower taxes, closer to the ocean, closer to Boston, and Maine.  Since you are working from home, it doesnt matter where home is, does it?  and if you want warmer?  North Alabama is often referred to as the Vermont of the South to us lost yankees.

Good morning all!

We have another sunny day heading to 60 (I'll take it!) but "frozen mix" is predicted on Tuesday....looking forward to warmer night-time temperatures.

DH and I have many moments of laughter every day, and no ex-spouses here thank goodness.  Here's a video I took of an amazing show some dolphins put on for us as we left Komodo Island heading back to Australia:

Hmm, not sure why this posted as a photo, it should be a video...

Will pass on the meal, drink and red wine and haven't been to Japan.  Thanks for the photos!

Lorraine @cruising sister Good to hear from you!  I know what you mean about getting teary at the love and excitement from the grands. 🙂  And thank you for the update about Murphy -- she's a fighter!

@Denise T Oh my about that neighbor 😞  We have a similar neighbor but thankfully he's at the end of the street so doesn't bother us.  I'm so sorry, you shouldn't have to live in fear or go to the trouble of moving -- but I agree, the police won't do anything. 😞  They tell us here that their hands are tied.  Bad situation.

Bon Voyage Lisa @LAFFNVEGAS!

@LambKnuckles Sorry to hear you have bronchitis -- get well soon 🙂

Sandi @StLouisCruisers Another great tree, love it!

On the agenda today is more gardening and a trip to Costco to get seafood and steak.  Most likely I'll see other things we "need" too.  😉

Good morning. It will be 70 later and it is beautiful and 57 now. Thunderstorms are maybe coming later.
I won’t celebrate my ex but I do have DS and DGC’s as a result.I like the soup recipes, thanks Debbie @dfish.

i have not been to Japan but would love to go someday.

@DeniseT, I am sorry to hear about the neighbors. I echo New Hampshire for consideration. My DS and family enjoy their area and also a summer home on a lake only an hour away. They are Celtics fans and often go to the Garden for games. The tax savings are good for the Northeast too.

@kochleffel, Paul, thanks for sharing your excellent feedback from the professor. I also like the waterfall pictures.

@StLouisCruisers,Sandi, this tree is so cheerful! I was in a funk when I woke up but had to smile at the sombrero. Thanks

Yes, please, I'll take some soup!!

I haven't been able to shake this bronchitis!!  I'll head back to the doctors tomorrow.

I think one of these recipes would be better than my can of Campbells!!!

Happy Sunday to each of us!!!

I'm sorry about the bronchitis.  I hope the doctor can help.

Terry, that makes me happy hearing you smiled at the tree sombrero(s).  I'm glad I could help get you out of that funk.

Edited to show the margaritas in a different photo.  I see it had maracas too!

Good morning,

We're having a lovely day here in the Pacific Northwest with the temp supposed to be above 60 later on (below 40 at the moment). I had a great afternoon with DS and DDIL and family yesterday. I made a batch of dinner rolls and headed over at 12:30 and got home at 7:00. A lot of visiting, laughter, and catching up with DDIL's parents. I've known them for over 40 years so always fun to get together. They are celebrating their 50th anniversary over Labor Day Weekend and I'm already told I'm invited and to bring my rolls and lemon bars!

Today's plan is to get the things done I didn't get done yesterday so we'll see how that works out. Tomorrow we're back to lower 50's and rain so will enjoy the sun when I can.
