Rare puppycanducruise Posted August 8 #4 Share Posted August 8 Good morning. Thanks for the Report. We've got showers in the forecast for this afternoon. I hope to do some gardening this morning. I'm not a digital nomad. Everyday is cat day for many. Yes, a good day to create. I like the quote. Yes to the meal and the cocktail. Hope the wine is good too. We were in Corfu many years ago on the Eurodam. Prayers for so many. Cheers for all the celebrations. Have a great day. 27

StLouisCruisers Posted August 8 #6 Share Posted August 8 Good morning friends! Today’s morning temp is 72 which shall rise to 94 with sunny skies. I’m looking forward to fall cooler temps. Thank you Rich @richwmn for the Fleet Report and Daily as well as the ship location maps for 8/8/2024. Wow, International Cat Day should be a popular one here on the Daily. I forecast lots of cat memes! Digital Nomad Day is okay, but the Date to Create is important. It’s a day to stop making excuses and get started on that project we’ve been putting off. I’m not sure what Oscar Wilde is saying is absolutely necessary. The kebabs meal suggestion sounds okay. No thanks to the Rob Roy and red wine. I’m sure people were fascinated with Galileo’s telescope. Love the Beatles! Thank you Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope and Ann @cat shepard for your reporting today. Prayers for my DB, my twin sister, DD, the people of Israel and Ukraine, the hostages still held, and our troops in that volatile region. Many prayers for our friends here on the Daily Care list. Tana and Terry, Annie and Chuck, Joy’s DS Bonnie, Nancy’s DB, Jacqui, Elizabeth, Carol, Roy, Debbie, Terri and Jim. Cheers to all cruising, preparing to cruise, and celebrating special occasions! Hoping for “Wonderful” for you all. Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for the excellent work maintaining the lists for us. The port today is Kerkira, Nisos Kerkira (Corfu), Greece. We’ve seen it here two times previously on Oct. 2, 2022 and Oct. 13, 2023. I’ve enjoyed that port a few times and have some photos to re-post. Here are the links. DH was able to easily get his driver’s license renewed yesterday. He didn’t use his glasses to pass the eye exam with 20-20 vision! Lucky man! The glasses are mainly for distance and I rarely see him wear them. Meanwhile my arm is still red from the shingles shot, still tender but less swollen. I’ve used a little ice on it but I think it just takes time to settle down. I feel fine so that’s good. Hope you all enjoy a fabulous day, and please, stay safe and keep well. 30
StLouisCruisers Posted August 8 #7 Share Posted August 8 I have been to Corfu three times (2012 Crown Princess, 2017 Westerdam and 2018 Pacific Princess). Pictures from the 2017 visit below since we had the best weather that trip. We arrived in Kerkira on the island of Corfu, Greece on Aug. 20, 2017 on Westerdam. It was a pretty day for a change. We hadn't had good luck weather-wise there before. But it would be worse on the next visit after this one. In 2018 we were there on Pacific Princess on Nov. 27 and got totally drenched down to our socks walking back to the ship. I thought this was a pretty little carriage to take a ride in. I hope the horse is given numerous breaks though. We walked past the New Fortress built in 1577. Not a wide street but it gets the job done. Protecting the beautiful produce from the morning sunshine. I've never seen that done before at a market. But look how perfect it is. The Old Fortress of Kerkira, on the sea, built around 6 A.D. We enjoyed this sunny, not wet day in Kerkira. Here is a photo of a rainbow as we left Kerkira, Corfu in Nov. 2018 after heavy rainfall. 25

grapau27 Posted August 8 #11 Share Posted August 8 Good afternoon from North East England where it is 66°F and partly sunny with rain expected soon. 3 interesting days today. There is a well known Digital nomad who spends most of his time working while cruising on Royal Caribbean ships. Today's food sounds nice. We have been to Corfu on a Royal Caribbean cruise. Prayers 🙏 offered to my friends who are unwell. I hope everyone has a nice day. 29
Rare kazu Posted August 8 #12 Share Posted August 8 Thanks for our Thursday Daily, Rich & thanks to our F & B team as always. I will join with many others on the Daily and celebrate cat day. Love cats and had many (sometime too many at a time 😜) until DD DH became allergic to the litter and we switched to dogs. I’m sorry Oscar Wilde, but I disagree with you. Any book I enjoy re-reading (and I do have a few) is worth reading as well as the ones I only read once. We’ve been to Corfu a couple of times. Ivan was SUCH a good boy yesterday. Along with his injection (and he walked right on the scale!), we had the realtor and around 3 more people in the house yesterday. He was rewarded after his walk for being so good. I got a light lunch and broccoli soup down and so far, so good so i think the stomach is stress like some of you said. One minute I am sad, one minute excited and then overwhelmed. One ay at a time. Realtor was here and house goes on the market Monday so it doesn’t get “lost” on the weekend and the realtors are anxiously hunting for new listings. All offers to be presented the following Monday. they are hoping for bids. I don’t know - guess we will see if there are any showings. He told me Ivan and I can stay and just go to the deck and move when people come out if there are a lot of showings in one day to help my legs. another full agenda today with house “stuff” and moving prep. Physio spoke to me yesterday with some guidance & have an appointment the day after I have my follow up with the surgeon. She asked who the surgeon was - I suspect she is going to contact him. She knows all of them well. I’m going to have to ask her for a recommendation closer to my new place. Ugh. Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, grief, pain, health problems, worries & those that need them. 🙏 Cheers to those celebrating and cruising 🥂 37

cat shepard Posted August 8 #15 Share Posted August 8 (edited) Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! It is warm & humid out, but the breeze helps a lot. Debby still hasn’t quite left us we still get sporadic brief showers that are actually pleasant in all this humidity. Even Bindi doesn’t seem to mind them. Can you believe the Arctic Circle’s temp yesterday was higher than Florida’s! Last night’s dinner out with my departing neighbor & a bunch of friends was great. The food was wonderful & we were seated next to a couple we knew! And then our County Sheriff, an amazing man, wandered in for an event, and when we greeted him, he came over to chat. It was a fun night. Vanessa, thank you for all you do. Hoping that your medical life is soon boring. 🤞🏻 Off to my Doc’s for an early visit. I hope to visit Egypt this year and want to discuss which shots I should get & maybe even start them today. At least the ones that won’t expire for a few years - just in case I don’t get there this year. Then Bindi walks, chores and maybe some yard work - ooh and pool time. Prayers for all who need our support. Tana, praying that you have a good day. And that you & Terry are bored - medically. Chuck, praying that you and Annie have a boring day. Really boring! Terri, praying that you and Jim are safe from Debby. Praying that all the bullying bosses see the light and realize that people make it happen. And one should treat them well. Jack, I will be with you tomorrow in spirit. Please hug Sam for me. Cheers to all who are celebrating. May we each find a reason to smile today. ************ Molly Dooker Red Two Left Feet 2022 I love when I can guess a wine’s country of origin by its name! This one just screams Australia! And it sounds like an amazingly powerful red blend. I used the 2022 vintage info, because that is what the winemaker was highlighting. Fairly easy to find, reasonably priced. I would love a taste. Online prices start at $23.99. Winemaker notes WHAT IS TWO LEFT FEET? Two Left Feet is what can happen when you dance after a glass or two of Mollydooker. TASTING NOTES: The 2022 Two Left Feet wine stands out for its lively balance. The Shiraz grape adds depth, while Merlot and Cabernet contribute fragrance and lifted notes. On the palate you’ll notice the dominant plum and mocha notes with a touch of toasty oak. The red fruit flavors feel silky due to the soft tannins. The taste journey continues with hints of licorice and blackberry jam, creating a joyful experience that celebrates the blend’s diverse elements. TECHNICAL NOTES: 70% The Boxer Shiraz, 15% The Scooter Merlot and 15% The Maitre D’ Cabernet Sauvignon. Two Left Feet has been Barrel fermented and matured in 98% American and 2% French oak, using 35% new, 49% one year old and 16% two year old barrels. The required Marquis Fruit Weight™ for the Lefty Series is 65% – 75%. The Actual Fruit Weight for 2022 Two Left Feet is 67%. Rare ottahand7 Posted August 8 #16 Share Posted August 8 Good morning everyone. Thanks for the daily and maps Rich. Not a digital nomad, love to create with flowers and food and cats 100% should be celebrated for the love and entertainment they give us. I don't agree with the quote. Thanks for the lovely photos of Corfu environs Sandi. I'll pass on the kebabs, the Rob Roy and will happily enjoy today's vino. Thanks for researching these for us each day! Thanks for the cares and celebrations reports Vanessa. Prayers for Chuck and Annie for a pain free and uneventful day. Prayers for Terri and Jim and happy that you are on higher ground so the flooding hasn't been too bad. Prayers for all in the remaining rain from Debby as she heads north. Ravens play the Eagles this weekend, it probably will be a wet game. Prayers for all in Juneau after the glacial flood. Prayers for Tana and Terry, Scotty, Bonnie and Ann and everyone else who are ailing or grieving. Good luck with the home sale process Jacqui and thank you for the lovely flower photos. Prayers for all in war zones. We have an unusual rainy day. Since I cleaned the house for our dinner party I think a long rainy day nap will be in order. We had high clouds and wind yesterday so fishing was in order. We caught two keeper Walleye and a lot of feisty bass. We had a fish fry with Wisconsin green beans and one of our few white wines we bring up here. The tempura batter made it the best fish fry of the summer. Have a nice Thursday! Cruzin Terri Posted August 8 #17 Share Posted August 8 Good morning from Bluffton, SC where the skies are unbelievably blue! We have not seen the sun in a long time. We do expect rain later today. Thank you to Rich for the Fleet Report and Daily. Thank you to Vanessa for keeping up with all of us. I think you can take us off the Cares list as it appears we are past the danger area with TS Debby. Thankfully we have come through without any problems. Thank you all for your prayers and concern. Thank you to the F&B team—Debbie, Ann and Dixie. Not sure what we will do yet for dinner. We have been to Corfu a few times and have always enjoyed our visit to that island. I hope we can all dry out over here. It is so nice to see the sun. I was beginning to think I needed to build an ark! Have a great day everyone. dfish Posted August 8 #19 Share Posted August 8 Good morning, everyone! It was a good night for sleeping last night and I slept like a rock. I feel so much better today after a good night's sleep. We are supposed to have sunny skies and a high of 81F, a pleasant day to go to the Saginaw Children's Zoo. We've got quite the crew going down. Sue, me, and River are going along with our niece Kourtney and her two littles. My DB and DSIL are coming along and DB Jeff. It is almost a family reunion! @kazu When I sold my house to move to Michigan it was listed on a Monday. There were three showings on Monday night and three more on Tuesday. It was one of the Monday showings that submitted the winning bid. This will happen! Today's meal is a lot like one from earlier, but not quite the same. No blue cheese today. The first recipe uses a tri tip steak and marinates the meat for about 8 hours. The acids in the marinade help tenderize the meat, so you can use a tougher cut of meat for this. Grilled Beef and Vegetable Kebabs Those look so good! There are some great tips for grilling in this next recipe. This recipe uses separate skewers for the veggies. That is a great idea since they tend to get done a lot quicker than the meat. It allows you to adjust the cooking time for them. Beef and Veggie Kebabs It doesn't get any easier than this recipe. Grilled Steak Kebabs and Veggies I hope this finds all of you well or improving. Wishing you all a wonderful day. 21

RMLincoln Posted August 8 #23 Share Posted August 8 Light rain today and buckets of rain tomorrow. But Saturday looks mostly dry for our drive to Boston! Temps are surprisingly mild. Instead of a Rob Roy I’d prefer a Manhattan with a good rye whisky, Canadian Club! Many thanks to Sandi and Lenda for your diligence with port photos! We were in beautiful Corfu on Nieuw Amsterdam last decade, seems a lifetime ago. Sandi, hoping all goes smoothly with family travels, for Ren and his continued healing. Loving your daughter’s trees! So creative! Jacqui, life is complex now, and when it calms, you may feel a huge void. Write down why you are making this change so when those days come you’ll have your answers. I’m still adding to my list of “All the things I won’t miss!” about having to deal with our mountain house and rural life but it was great while it lasted! No regrets but lots of good memories! Prayers for your healing path! May the right people be on it! I’m into a book now that I’d love to take on the trip but it’s rather largish. Will decide later when I see how much room we have and what we’re lugging. I always have to have at least one real book when traveling, one that doesn’t require electrons. Charging stuff is such a nuisance on older ships with their one outlet per cabin. I got a quick load of laundry done last night after dinner, then I crashed early. Slept till 6:30! Today is more laundry, pack the “little things”, walk over to medical for a Rx renewal, forms to register for next month’s flu shots, stop at finance for questions about being away for awhile (they credit our bill when away longer than 11 days) and maybe get some cash from the ATM? We used to bring more cash traveling but not much anymore. I’m hoping we can get a ship excursion to the Viking site once onboard but might have to find someone local to take us there. Might need cash for that? Probably a local tour guide would take credit cards, no? So only light tips and emergency cash? Onward! Terri, thank you for your good thoughts in the midst of your woes. I hope today you can feel calmer and see the waters recede. Princess site says 2 days! Remembering to breathe! Today we’ll talk with a HAL PCC about Voyage of the Vikings 2026, a bucket list cruise! Maybe? We’ve never booked so far in advance, but also we’ve never booked on such short notice as this week! so we are evolving! It’s such a burden lifted to be able to look at traveling during what was always fire season in NM! I can let that go and leave the disaster coverage to others! May those in need of rain receive it, and those who’ve had too much, see it recede. Blessings to all in need of healing, comfort or hope! Thanks Vanessa for your dedication to us and our lists! Blessings for our country and yours! Cheers to all celebrating 🎉 Life is Good 🌈 Smooth travels to all away! Thank you all for being here! Enjoy the good of today!
