Yes it is.

It is being investigated. Sure nothing will turn up.

I will look into cameras to put in the cabin next time.

Your experience is highly unusual, and you have had very, very bad luck the last three cruises so a camera is a good idea for next time. There are cameras that look like travel alarm clocks and have motion detector activated cameras.

You might also want to buy some lottery tickets. Hey with your luck, why not?

Am I the only one wondering about that dress with the tags still on it that was going to be returned?

Edit: Darn you now have me thinking about that.

She probably bought the dress to wear on the cruise after reading all the ballyhoo about ripped jeans in the MDR. But once on board she found she could wear her ripped jeans after all and never needed the new dress. So the tags stayed on and that poor dress spent a very lonely cruise in the closet. Makes me tear up just thinking about it. :(

Never had anything taken on any of our 17 Celebrity cruises and I leave things out all of the time. I'm wondering who the 4 people were who were going in and out of the cabin. Celebrity eliminated the assistant cabin attendant about a year ago so now there is only 1 person in and out unless you are in a suite, then it is 2.

With their luck (if it can be believed), that camera would be the next item they have stolen. :')

It is not unheard of for a woman to purchase an expensive dress for a special occasion, wear it once, and return it for a full refund. Leaving the tags on it, but carefully tucked away so they won't be seen, facilitates that bit of supterfuge. ;)

Just wondering if I am the only one that this happens to.

.

You're definitely the unluckiest cruiser I've ever heard of. Reminds me of an old comics character who lived under a black cloud. If you use a spy cam on your next cruise, make sure it's insured.

I've cruised about twenty times on NCL, Celebrity and Carnival and never had anything taken. I do lock jewelry, passport, cellphone and cash in the safe, but I do leave my iPad out to charge when I'm not in the cabin. I'm not concerned about the steward but I sometimes think it's not great that the door is open to the room while they are making your cabin up, and various passengers are walking by the open door. Don't know how easy it would be for them to grab something that's visible.

We've never had anything taken. I recently tried to discard a top that had a slight pull in it, so draped it over the waste can in case our steward found a use for it. He kindly refolded it and placed it on the bed.

I've left Murano necklaces, my laptop, camera, cell phone, etc. outside our safe on occasion and nothing has vanished. IMHO too great a risk for such a small return for a crew member to have stolen SFloridian's dress, costume jewelry, etc.

Never from our cabin, but many years ago I left a camera on the table in a lounge. I only got to the door of the room and went back to get it, but it was not on the table. I went to reception and told them my tale and checked with lost and found every couple of days for the duration of the cruise, but no one ever turned it in. And it was just a "regular old camera" not an expensive one. Personally....I suspect it was another passenger.

About six years ago: Not personally but know people who had their luggage searched (not by security) after they put it out in the hall the final night. Put the bags out then went for the last night of fun, upon returning for some sleep their bag was unzipped with some clothing partially sticking out. Security was called but nothing was actually taken.

Did watch as one guy in the casino dropped a stack of chips people scrambled to pick them up. He got most of it back within minutes, not sure if he ever got it all back.

Almost guaranteed a passenger. I was on a cruise and this guy joined a group of us having drinks. He was well in his cups, and he told us how he and his girlfriend & group had gone to a bar in Havana. His girlfriend put her cell phone on the table ... the cell phone had a wallet style case and had her $$ and credit card, etc. Then after putting cell phone on the table, EVERYONE in the group went to the bar to order drinks. They were ALL astounded when they returned to the table and her cell phone was gone. Ahhh ... DUH .... OMG.

Numerous cruises and cruiselines. Nothing ever stolen.

We leave our jewelry, cash, passports, etc in safe. Charge phones when we are in the cabin.

I left a nice black sweater somewhere and it was waiting for me the next morning in Lost & Found.

That being said, we did freak out and dashed back to the cabin on several occasions when we accidentally left the safe open!

It was not very smart of her to leave anything unattended on he tab le. No need to tempt someone leaving a tr'easure of that sort. Hard lesson she learned.

We've never had anything stolen from our cabin in more than 30 cruises on various cruise lines.

Only one time in more than 100 c ruises di d I miss something in my cabin but I am not willing to suggest it was stolen as it is more likely I misplaced it.

I once left a very moderate priced camera behind in a lounge a long time ago and although I had a name and address sticker on it , no one g turned i t innto lost and found. I didn't care all that much about the camera but I did care ab out the photos I lost.

I have a hard time thinking anyone working on a ship does any kind of major (or minor) theft for that matter, as . It would be so easy for them to be caught an d fired without a n air ticket home.
