I am currently on the Majesty of the Seas and will continue for the next two sailings. I received the Royal Up email today for the third segment. I went by the Next Cruise desk as I had visited them upon boarding and asked what is available. I was told the same thing on both visits - no availability remaining on December 3, so apparently they are also unable to see any inventory being held by the corporate offices. The Next Cruise agent said he had never seen the email I showed him today.

There's is an offer for an OS on my sailing but there are none available on the Royal website. I'm not sure of the availability on the website of the other suites offered.

Has anyone else received one of these emails? I received one of those emails a few minutes ago.

We sail next week and just got one.  If didn't have a specific room booked, it would be tempting to give it a try.

Funny thing is...it offers for all categories but according to US and UK sites, Junior Suites and Balconies are sold out.

Got the email a bit ago for our Sunday sailing on the Adventure.  We have a Ste Gty that is not assigned yet.  However, on the email, our cabin assignment is shown as the Panoramic Suite with no cabin number.  I would be tickled with that, if we end up in one of those, since this was a last minute booking, and we just want to be onboard.  lol

Interestingly, our choices for upgrade are:

Grand Suite @ $250 pp +

Owners Suite @ $350 pp +

Royal Suite @ $1000 pp +

for a six night sailing.  We are passing and will wait to see what we get.  Hopefully before we sail Sunday.    I don't think the Solarium deck chairs would be comfortable enough for 6 nights.  lol

Why? A modified online version of the upsell process that has been going on for quite a while.

Agree. We've received phone offers in the past. The only difference I see is it's not first come, first served anymore.

But the junior suites and balconies can move up and then they're available for others to move up into. Chain reaction and all that

It apparently decreases my ability to upgrade as D+ or paid upgrade even though I am already onboard.

I'm not sure RCI would be stupid enough to not take your full paid upgrade in lieu of a lower bidder via this new system. Not sure being on board has anything to do with it.

Biker, is surprised RCI hasn't rolled this out as a beta first to just a few ships - unintended consequences can't far behind. The Plusgrade marketeers must be real good.

Serious question, has Royal ever rolled out  anything in beta first?

No doubt subject to an 18% "service fee".  It is Royal after all.

Ironically I cant get promotional emails.  I've tried.   Had C&A try several times.  Yet every time I log into my account that check box is unchecked.   I've never received a promotional email so I'm out.  Royal IT.  FUBAR.

Call Casino Royale

Wish that would work!  I have tried for years with a phone call at least each month to Casino Royale or the Diamond Plus Desk.  Shoot, I've even gotten Mr. Bayley's office involved and they couldn't get it done after working on it for weeks. I've tried three different e-mail addresses over the years to no avail.  I still get no RCI promotional e-mails although in my settings Celebrity and RCI are checked for promotional e-mails.  I do get them from Celebrity but never from RCI. A multi-million dollar company that can't figure out how to get someone on the mailing list.

This confuses me.  I thought the new bidding process was going to be an amount that you (as the bidder) chose to bid.  What's with the arbitrary amounts shown above ?

This is the beginning bid price.  They won't let you bid just anything, but show a minimum you must offer.  This is the minimum shown for each category on our sailing.

I did go into the bid process to confirm that.  It shows these bids as 'weak' (I think that was the terminology, I could be wrong though).

I believe that those are the starting bid amounts

We have five RC cruises booked.  Got the e-mail on three of them.

Most interesting - Oasis, 3/31, now in a Central Park balcony and could bid $100 pp for OV balcony (same offer was made to me by Casino Royale when I booked, still not interested), Jr. Suite for $300 pp (only real benefit is Coastal Kitchen dinner, which I don't think is worth $600 per week), Grand Suite for $600 pp, CL for $900 pp and AQ for $1,000 pp.  Note that all of the suites have their class designation included (Sea for JS and Sky for others), which makes it clear you are entitled to those benefits.  No Star class suites offered for bid (at least not to me).

I will think about the GS, but probably pass as we got the Ultimate Dining Package last week at a great price.
