Beckett Posted May 24, 2021 #21226 Share Posted May 24, 2021 Good Morning Everyone. As Bob says - things are slowly getting back to normal and face to face GP and hospital appointments are once again becoming possible. We opened our doors last week and we've so enjoyed seeing our regulars again. As a fairly small practice (6,000 patients) we have a first-name relationship with a lot of our patients. We have quite a high percentage of lonely oldies, some of whom just come in for a little chat with our Reception Staff. So we were delighted when our oldest patient who is over 100 telephoned to ask if she could come in and bring cakes - oh yes! We gave her tea, ate her cakes, and had a lovely catch up. So rewarding to make someone happy with such a small gesture. She had a great time! I am starting to get impatient now to read some actual cruise reviews. P&O's first sail is 27th June. Is anyone from the gang on that one? Have a great day everyone. Best wishes to all. Jane.x

Rare P&O SUE Posted May 24, 2021 #21229 Share Posted May 24, 2021 Meant to say good luck to Kalos and Graham with their appointments today, I’d sneaked in between work calls as it was quiet and rushed my post 😊
ann141 Posted May 24, 2021 #21230 Share Posted May 24, 2021 Hope your hospital appointments go well Kalos and Graham. My routine GP telephone appointment last week seemed to result in a lot of 'forgets'.The GP recommended that I try a new medication and then forgot to add it to my repeat prescriptions! When I went to pick it up I had 'forgotten' to take my phone. The pharmacist asked for my phone number which I 'forgot'(I had to ask hubby to come in so he could look at his contact list!)The pharmacist wrote the number down on a piece of paper but 'forgot' to write down my name so I received a phone call later on from the pharmacy asking who was I ?? I too like the look of MSC Virtuosa from what I have seen and its making me more excited about my seacation in September Hope everyone has a good day.It certainly helps me feel better when the sun is shining 🙂 6

The answer is, less than one! Of course, the biggest travesty is when My Lovely Horse got no votes, despite an epic video. We don't get many votes because some of our European friends don't get us. When Eurostar started Paris to London , having the London Terminus at Waterloo didn't impress them much. They could then pop along to the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square🤣

On another occasion in a Waitrose cafe we asked for lemon in or tea, they had none but went straight off to get some from the adjacent shop. A few years ago we were in a well known cafe in St Petersburg specialising in doughnuts. The lady serving me put sugar in my coffee. I said to her in Russian that I didn't want sugar. She told me not to stir it! Saw the same cafe on a repeat of Hairy Bikers recently. Si got similar service when he asked for a machiatto... 1

Good luck to everyone with hospital appointments..... I have two sets of people viewing my house today so been busy with housework. kalos Posted May 24, 2021 #21241 Share Posted May 24, 2021 Whenever Mrs Kalos starts singing , I just go and stand out in the middle of our street. I don’t want any of the neighbors to think I’m hitting her. 4

pete14 Posted May 24, 2021 #21243 Share Posted May 24, 2021 We turned it on late and the first thing we caught was the run through of clips of all the performances. It took a while for me to realise it was different songs and not the same one because they mostly sounded the same. How we can be considered the worst of all that dross beggars belief. Time to pull the plug on the whole sorry ‘event’ methinks.

Jane.x Hi Jane I’m on that first one but I won’t be able to do daily reports because of WiFi , but I will certainly write about it when I get home and with photos, I also think Bobstheboy is on the same cruise too but I might be wrong. Kalos hope your hospital appointment go well and results are good.🤩 Graham hope your eye test results are good too 🤓 1

Well, we have had an eventful morning.. Had to call an ambulance for Michelle as she was being sick, couldn't breathe and passed out... Tried 111 for advice first but after ten minutes of Covid instructions and we are busy, call back later messages, gave up and called 999... Paramedics arrived just as I finished the call, how is that for service... She didn't want to go to hospital so the doctor reluctantly agreed she could stay home after prescribing different anti sickness medicine, as long as I stayed with her and monitored her breathing. She is settled now, snoring loudly😴 Hats off to the ambulance service and doctors/pharmacy for acting so quickly, just a shame 111 is clogged up with what should be common sense messages.. Someone was telling me this morning that as a local paramedic he had not had to take any Covid patients to hospital in 8 weeks. Now that is splendid to hear. I hope you both feel better soon.
