In case you haven't noticed, I am a whiner for sure. I'm glad to hear your arm feels somewhat better, Bonnie. I hope you wake up tomorrow full of pep, and without any dull achey arem!😉

Here in RI it’s suddenly summer. Sun/clouds and 82 degrees today. We went to the local garden center this morning and no surprise, it was mobbed. We’re slowly adding to the pool landscaping. I’m also thrilled with how the phlox I planted last year is doing. I’m enjoying the sunshine out in the deck & resting up for this afternoon. We have our granddaughters overnight while their Mom & Dad go to a wedding. It is a beautiful summer day unless you are on the coast where a fog bank has decided to settle in.

Rare A&L_Ont Posted May 14, 2022 #57579 Share Posted May 14, 2022 A few updates from the last couple weeks. The Varsity soccer season ended last week. Owen’s team is not moving onto playoffs. That’s OK because rep baseball has begun this week. First game is done, with a solid win against a team that only plays ball and practices all winter. Owen walked, had a hit and struck out. He also made the game ending catch. Post game huddle. And with the warmer weather now upon us, the farmers are all up and rolling. There is a tractor in the centre of the dust cloud. And that’s why we don’t spring clean our windows until June and the crops are in. This week we have had temps in the 80/90s.

Rare A&L_Ont Posted May 14, 2022 #57581 Share Posted May 14, 2022 Lucy has also been enjoying the warmer weather setting up home around the pool which has now been open for 10 days. It’s up to 80F so I am almost ready to get in it. The ornamental pear is in full bloom. We put out all the patio furniture today and she has been enjoying the lounger. Lion Queen. On the hunt for some mice.

Rare A&L_Ont Posted May 14, 2022 #57583 Share Posted May 14, 2022 Yesterday when we were getting the mail we spotted something in the ditch. We took a stroll and look what we found enjoying the sun. I figure he/she was migrating from one pond to another, possibly for spring mating?🤷♂️ There is 3/4 mile between the two nearest ones. I have seen a turtle in the same area over the years at the same time of the season. It didn’t seem to phased by us as we took some photos. It’s shell was about 14” long and a bit narrower. When we left it just remained sunning itself. An hour later it was gone. It has not taken residence at our pool, at least not yet. I’m not sure how old it would be but judging by its size it has to be old.

Rare bobmacliberty Posted May 15, 2022 #57588 Share Posted May 15, 2022 Beautiful day here today. We decide to go to the northern end of the island to Fort Clinch State Park. The fort is well worth visiting if you’re ever here but we were headed to the beach for some walking and shark tooth hunting. Home now and we still haven’t found a single tooth anywhere. We’ve been told that finding the first one is the hardest. After finding one, your brain better knows how to see them. If you walk a couple of hundred yards, you’ll have a beach all to yourself. And I had to copy @aussielozzie18’s bird photo idea. I think these are Least Terns. If so, they are threatened in Florida. 19

Rare aussielozzie18 Posted May 15, 2022 #57594 Share Posted May 15, 2022 @bobmacliberty thank you for your bird photos. Intrigued by your shark tooth search. Not heard of that before. Did a Google search and read an interesting article about why there are so many shark teeth on the beach at Fort Clinch State Park. Interesting what you learn from what is posted here.

Rare aussielozzie18 Posted May 15, 2022 #57596 Share Posted May 15, 2022 Was supposed to rain today, so took ourselves off to the movies to see an Australian movie based on a short story from the 1800s that was turned into a book then a play and now a movie. The Drover’s Wife. Very well done. Then lunch by the beach and a beach walk. If we had our swimmers we could have had a swim. A warm 25C here today.

I always thought they were a southern reptile.
sgmn Posted May 15, 2022 #57599 Share Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) Hello everyone, we've been away on a cruise this last week with very limited Internet so I've missed out on what's been happening for the last 40 odd pages I hope everyone is well. Our cruise was on Silhouette Norwegian Fjords . A last minute booking and scared myself silly reading some of the horror stories on the Celebrity page, but we figured that we can't go too wrong on a UK cruise, just for a week, no flying and driving to the port. The cruise was pretty full and probably only 5% wore masks. In fact we were told on entering the terminal at Southampton 'you don't need to wear your masks' !! It did feel a little different as we probably didn't mix as much as a pre covid cruise, but we did go to the shows but sat in a quite area in the upper floor of the theater. The ports were lovely, though weather was cool. We did lots of walking and really enjoyed the scenery. No masks necessary or requested in Norway in the shops or on the one tour bus we went on. All in all a lovely cruise, but I think I prefer Royal Caribbean. Now to look forward to The Beyond next month Sail away in Southampton Appletini and bubbles in the Sky Lounge Sail into Bergan Climbed 420 steps to the top of a hill overlooking Alesund Harbour Some pics of Olden Stavanger port In our favourite bar enjoying a Cosmopolitan Edited May 15, 2022 by sgmn 29
