Only in Microsoft Flight Simulator. I've never had a crash I couldn't walk away from.😊

Shows how much I fly.  Got the exit row and then discovered the seats dont recline.  Last time booking these for a longer flight.

The seats on thec757 are awful as well.  They lean forward.  Needcto start remembering this.

Something tells me I’m the only one that doesn’t know this, but is that hay? Why would you put it on nice green grass?

Yes It’s hay.  Under the hay there were bare spots in the lawn from the dogs.  I patched the spots with fresh top soil and planted new grass.  The hay acts as insulation and protection for the newly seeded area.  Once the grass grows up through the hay, I’ll mow over it to pick most of it up.

Mushroom Compost is my preferred top dressing but not ideal for this particular application.

Just to add more food porn.  I like this thread just for all the food we see on it.

Beef ribs were on special at a local Meat Market.  I picked up 3 slabs since I had some time on Saturday to do them up.

I cut them in section and cover with 2 different dry rubs (1 Coffee/Cocoa, 1 Buttery/Garlic)

Then vacuum sealed for Sous-vide

Then, in the immersion for 8hrs at 57.5°C.

After this they go in the freezer and can be prepared in very little time at a later date.

This is what they look like after the grilling (Pic from a previous cook)

I've been considering sous vide ribs but haven't tried it yet.  Looks great.

I have a question for those who were on Oasis recently and in a suite.  Was there still beer, wine, soda and water available without a charge in the Suite Lounge all day or has that disappeared?  Letter from the concierge specifically states coffee and tea is available throughout the day and beer, wine, spirits, and soft drinks available from 5-8 pm.  Wondering if things have changed....

Some food pics.  Not the best angles. We ate at Duke's last night.

After eating the waiter asked if we wanted dessert .  Hula pie I think.  The waiter asked how many and we said 4.  Waiter..... WHAT! He then said, let me bring one out first and then you can order more.  We had a hard time eating 2. Hard to see the size of the from the pics.

The food and pie was good.

Oh my, all of that food, every dish looks so good!!  I can almost taste that hula pie.

At first glance I thought the women on the plate were pointing guns.  Then I realized they're hula dancers.  🫢

@lenquixote66 Lenny, I hope you have no more eye problems.  Very scary.

That sounds more like a DL than a SL.

We will see what they have to say.  I replied to the concierge email asking for clarification as well as CK reservations.

I know we always had beer and wine at lunch and sometimes breakfast in CK on oasis class.

In the past, it has been 11-11 beer, wine, soda and water.  I will have to see if I have a prior email to compare.  We were on Oasis in October but we booked a balcony on that cruise since they were so cheap.  We haven't sailed in an Oasis class suite since before covid.  We have been doing Quantum class suites most recently.

I have come to the conclusion that if one follows this thread long enough…we will all be sous viding eventually.

I keep meaning to look up what the sous viding way of cooking entails, etc.

The SL did have beer and wine, water bottles (probably soda too) from 11 am to sometime in the evening on our Late August Oasis sailing.

I like the idea of vacuum sealing smaller portions and then freezing after the sous vide.  I have one but don’t often use it.  I think I will get some ribs and give your method a whirl.

Pretty sure my wife got champagne with breakfast

Thanks.  It is actually the soda and water that I am wondering about.  I did not get a refreshment package since I was going to just get bottled water in the SL.  DH got a refreshment because he lives on the diet root beer in the Freestyle machine plus he likes mochas.  We never use all of our vouchers, so I was just going to use one voucher for my daily mocha.  It isn't a deal breaker for us, I can just stock up on water bottles during happy hour if necessary.  I was just cheaping out and not buying a refreshment package this time and now it is $10/day more than what we paid for his.  I am going to wait and see what the concierge says and maybe I just buy a case of water.

Just read that the great Canadian singer Gordon Lightfoot just passed , I saw him in Billy Bobs in Texas about 40 years ago , loved his song “if you could read my mind” which was covered by Dylan and Streisand and others.

It’s great.  Meat comes out so juicy.  I don’t use it as often as I used to but it’s really the best way to cook most meats. DH uses the grill and crockpot for ribs and brisket though.  Pork and Turkey breast are in the sous vide.

Not happening.

Same here I am a grill guy. Something about "Man vs Fire." I hear great things about Sous Vide but I like hanging at my grill cocktail in one hand and pair tongs in the other.
