How many Captains Club points have most folks gotten through the PUP program? We haven't done any of the booking opportunities  and maybe skipped a couple of the social media ones but have still gotten about 35 points from where we were (as best I can remember) through this. They don't have to do it so I am appreciative.  Since it's Valentine's Day, I just wanted to say Thanks Celebrity!

I have not kept track since when PUP started I was at Elite Plus and reaching Zenith would take so many points to reach that it won't happen. I skip the social media ones and only do the quizs and videos.

We initially skipped the social media ones until I realized I could leave our privacy settings as is but then go back and edit the single post afterwards to allow anyone to view only that specific post. Since then we've done all of them except ones that required a specific booking or purchases of on board spa services.

We were fortunate in receiving full points for our last cruise (3/13/2020) even though it was cut short due to the world shutdown. Also fortunate to return home healthy!

I might have done something like that if i thought I would ever reach the next tier. Celebrity really should create one or two tiers between Elite Plus and Zenith. Or it could be a one time award at certain point levels instead of a new tier.

Seriously?  With the new "All Inclusive", the only thing you really get for moving from Elite to Elite Plus is one more bag of free laundry per cruise...which SOMETIMES comes in handy when you're doing a LONGER cruise...

What do you think they'll give you for an extra tier or two?

At "Elite Plus Plus" add an extra pressed item from the laundry...and...

At "Elite Plus Plus Plus" add an extra 10% off the price of a second scoop of Gelato????

I am kind of thinking at this time they are just focusing on resuming safe cruises, keep the business afloat, just saying...

I agree.  However we do them anyway.  Since we're retired with the pandemic restrictions the PUP activities give us something different to do here and there. We do the activities more for that reason than for any of the CC benefits. 😛

They could go back to the old way in a few years. Trends change. Is there no way to book without the all inclusive? I used to book resident rate to avoid the one two or three perks packs.

We've done most of them except the spa and future booking activities.  So far we've had 37 CC points credited to our account.  I've done the most recent one so have 3 more so far coming in March for a total of 40.  That works out to an average of about 5 points per month, if things keep going at that rate I'll have about earned the equivalent of a 7 night cruise in a Royal Suite by the time our next reservation comes around just over a year from now.

All inclusive doesn't apply to all fares, to my understanding it does not include getaway (last minute) fares and "comped" cruises for gamblers

According to Celebrity, only on some select (not specified) cruises will Always Included not be applied to booking within 90 days of sailing. I can't comment on comped cruises.

Me too.  Don't have FB, although DH does.  Oddly enough I'm making Tenderloin steaks with Argentinian Shrimp tonight but with my own recipe.

This is all silly...

I, personally, decided to skip this one --as I've said, the points, to me, are basically meaningless...especially if I have to put in a lot of work to get them...

However, if I, in fact, did this, I couldn't care less if someone else "stole" my photo...Not like I place great value on the proprietary worth of this piece of art...

But, if you really want to avoid doing the cooking part, just go to some random internet restaurant menu for some eatery that sells strip steak or beef teriyaki or anything else that looks like a piece of meat in a dark brown sauce...and cut and paste THAT picture...The restaurant will likely not hunt you down and sue you for copyright infringement...and Celebrity really won't care if it doesn't look exactly like THEIR plate...

From Celebrity's point of view, what difference does it make whether you actually cooked a steak or stole a photo?  The social media post gives Celebrity credit either way – which is what this is all about.

So are you saying that Celebrity doesn't really care about the ethics of their PUP program, just the publicity?

I never looked at the curricula of Marketing majors.  Do they have a required course on ethics?

That is what I would say..... it is all about the publicity. I don't think they care when all they are giving is a few points. If they were giving away a cruise they probably would care.

Ethics on a sliding scale. Sad.

Well?  looks like Korry *did* copy Rhonda’s photo.  I made a comment that Rhonda and him did a great job (with a snapshot of her original post) and he promptly deleted my comment 😉

I have to say I like his tagline: "It's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you."

How apt.

Shortly after Always Included was announced the casino dept (blue chips) said always included did not apply to comped cruises which is somewhat disappointing because most other lines give you "perks".

I would certainly hope so. It encourages me to see posters viewing such theft as inappropriate.

I wouldn't give it a second thought, as I've said previously, this isn't the first nor the last time someone will take the path of least resistance to gain PUP points.  I would imagine no one at X is looking for duplicates, they only care about a public post being placed.

X has two very popular people they're associated with, they extended their partnership with Michelin Star chef Daniel Boulud and there's also the most popular cruise ship "employee" in the world, Captain Kate.  Integrate them into the PUP program.  Or heck, videos of Daniel showing Kate how to cook and Kate showing Daniel how to "Captain" a ship would go viral. 😄

I agree, didn’t major in marketing but it seems simple to me, you have a product that you haven’t been able to deliver in almost a year,  you are not on control of when you can restart your business and you have taken on a ____ lot of debt.  The only alternative is to try and keep your brand in people’s mind. I applaud Celebrity for doing these things.  We have status on 3 other lines and have received no emails or activities to keep us engaged  just dead silence.

They should. Otherwise they could end up with their clients being sued over copyright laws.

Even CC has a warning about members using copyright materials.
