Getting second shot Sat, will fill name in before Here at the Miami-Dade County site, they handed me a card without my name on it also. I just filled my name in. They were too busy to write more stuff than they needed to. I thought to myself I could write anyone's name in -- but why would I do that? I was happy just to get the shot and the card. I heard all the Office Depots and Office Maxes are laminating cards for free -- but what happens if you need to use the extra two lines for boosters one day? Would the card be enough proof going forward to prove you've been vaccinated? I sure do hope so since this vaccine passport is not happening in the Sunshine State.

Yes I just read that as well. What's even better news is they reported it is 100% effective for that age group.

In New York all we got was the initial C.D.C. card with spaces for the type of vaccine Lot number and date of injection. The only personal info was our names and dates of birth. Any other information was entered in a data base. The New York State Excelsior Pass (passport card) contains only your name and date of birth and a QR symbol that when scanned will most probably have more information. smokeybandit Posted March 31, 2021 #739 Share Posted March 31, 2021 All the CDC-issued cards are 4x3 cardstock. States may have their own cards.
Annefran Posted April 1, 2021 #740 Share Posted April 1, 2021 (edited) FYI, do not laminate your vaccination card. You may have to use it going forward for booster vaccines. I purchased plastic holders for my card from Walmart but I believe Amazon also sells them. Just google: Premium Card Protector (3x4 in) for CDC Immunization Record. That's how I found it. Not sure CC will allow me to post the link or not? Edited April 1, 2021 by Annefran

Rare jean87510 Posted April 1, 2021 #742 Share Posted April 1, 2021 I purchased the holders from Amazon as I was told early on not to laminate due to possible boosters. This was back in December. Now I think "they" are saying its ok to laminate. This is from fellow healthcare personnel involved with distribution of vaccines at mass sites in my area. This is a common question. Personally, I would just do the sleeve or holder as I am not a fan of laminating.
smokeybandit Posted April 1, 2021 #743 Share Posted April 1, 2021 I bought the holders out of concerns the powers that be would make it difficult for us in the future if it was laminated

Lots of debate about if vaccine passports should be allowed. My thoughts are that they won't be, though airlines may be allowed to ask for proof.

The majority of the workers said NO, 1 or 2 said they would do it. Everyone says take a photo of the card and save digitally a couple of places, to be safe. I am going to go with the majority and just purchase the 4 x 3 protector sleeves for our cards and put them in the safe with our passports. It is rumored that new CDC guidelines are coming shortly. https://www.travelweekly.com/Cruise-Travel/Miami-Dade-mayor-CDC-guidelines-vaccines That ‘we will be releasing guidance soon’, is a top 10 tune on the government golden oldies list. I saw the article that came out on Travel World yesterday (Apr 1st), and saw what the Miami-Dade Mayor said; I also saw the story that came out today (Apr 2nd) that seemed to contradict what she said. I have heard different renditions of that song about different things for at least 50 years, and I think I have been hearing the latest version being sung by the CDC from sometime late last fall or maybe a little before last Christmas. It also reinforces my belief that the CDC really isn’t the least bit interested in cruising starting up again in the US anytime in the foreseeable future. It also appears that some of the major cruise lines have come to the same conclusion; voted with their feet and decided to bypass the CDC and other US Government agencies by “homeporting” some of their ships in places like Nassau or St Maarten and possibly other ports (I have seen where Bermuda and maybe Cozumel are being mentioned as well) where CDC mandates and US regulations mean little to nothing. I still remember several things my daddy used to say, when I was growing up, many years ago when he was talking about politicians, political appointees or the government in general, I have heard him say “Getting the government to do anything is like mating elephants; it done at a high level, with a lot of roaring and screaming, takes 24 months to get any results and there was no guarantee a result will come out of it.”; another was “The way to tell if a politician or government official is lying to you was to look to see if their lips were moving.” and maybe the most important one was “Politicians don’t show much interest in anything until it may impact their possibility of getting re-elected. Then they stick their finger in the air, see which way the wind is blowing and reacts accordingly.” Just a few random thoughts.

I would be interested in hearing your thoughts about why vaccine passport won't be allowed. Several EU countries are already considering requiring such passports for entry.
