Good morning everyone, thanks for today’s daily report Rich.  Caroling and games sound like fun.  Sangria is always welcome here.  Interesting quote by Brown.  I’ll pass on the meal suggestion, had it yesterday. Have not been to today’s port but will visit via the photos.  Prayers for everyone on our prayer list and hats off to those celebrating happy events today.

Thank you for the Monday Daily. Rich.  I guess Caroling is my favorite of today's days.  James Brown appears to be a master of understatement.  I'll pass on the Creamy Pork but have been to Falmouth a time or two.  Once Rich goes to sea my lists will likely come at random times, especially until I complete my treatments.

Today’s care list:

Strength for Jacqui, healing for Jose and wisdom for his doctors
Himself with Covid

Welfare of furloughed crews
Seasick Sailor’s friend Walker wthdrawing from cancer treatments
kakalina with spreading lung cancer in hospice
StLouisCruisers Niece DH with throat cancer surgery 12/20
1ANGELCAT with broken finger
From the rotation:
rafinmd undergoing radiation
Mamaofami’s friend in hospice
SrLouisCruiser awaiting MOSE 2/21
Cruisin Terri Autoimmune problem

Celebrations and Shoutouts:

Baby steps for Jose
5 BHB with passengers
Front Line Health Care Workers
3 days for Zuiderdam
3 days fir Ichib an Nekko (Nieuw Amsterdam to 1/8)
2 days for Rich and Sharon, garlicgtown and Av8tix (1/9)  (Rotterdam to 2 Jan)
Lindaler (2 Jan) and Seasick Sailor(Rotterdam to 1/16) , MissG (Nieuw Statendam to 1/9),  NCTribeFan and JAM37 (NA to 12/23) at sea
Welcome to Florida, Rich
Surprise visit from Niece for Durangoscots
Koningsdan Staff Captain Sabine - officially onboard & introduced. - Our first female staff captain and HAL’s likely first female Captain(I know this is a repeat but she’s worth it)

Good afternoon from a cloudy but mild 46°F NE England.

Thank you Rich for today's daily and Roy for the care and celebration lists.

Interesting days.

We have had jugs of Sangria many times on our visits to Spain.

I will give the food and drink a miss today.

Falmouth is a little known port with Southampton being the premier cruise port in England.

Prayers 🙏 for @kazu and @Himself and daily best wishes for @rafinmd for his radiation treatment.

Prayers 🙏 also for everyone on the care list.

It was reported in the UK by Moderna this morning that the Moderna booster is effective against Ormicron 🤞

Take care and stay safe everyone.

Graham.

Good morning Rich and fellow Daily-ites. Safe travels Rich and other sailing soon Daily-ites!

Last night decided to go to Nami Sushi. Disappointed in the dried crab legs but tuna roll and poke were pretty good. Went to the Crows Nest for "dessert" Neli makes a wonderful lemon drop martini.

2 sea days for us before Fort Lauderdale and meeting our Daily friends on board! I wish you could all join us!

Prayers for Roy to finish his treatment and start feeling stronger soon. Prayers for our Jacqui,  Jose and praying to hear from @Himself.

Good Morning everyone! Thank you Rich for the Daily Report, and thank you Roy for the Cares and Celebrations Report. And thank you everyone for caring and sharing!

My cold is still lingering but I can still taste so I know it isn't the dreaded flu! I am not one for napping during the day but yesterday I did in the afternoon. Guess I shouldn't have because I have been up since 4:15 am. Just started a second pot of coffee!

Good morning everyone.

Continued prayers for all who need them, especially @kazu and @Himself.   @1ANGELCAT I am so sorry about the broken finger.

Today's meal is  yesterday's meal.  I think Rich may have been in a hurry to get to his BHB!   On the list he gave me it says Smoky Spanish Chicken for dinner tonight.

We'll start off with this version:   https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/smoky-spanish-chicken/Smoky-Spanish-Chicken_EXPS_SDDJ18_166274_D08_01_3b-1.jpg.3f127c41d845f07a93070d8c4086e958.jpg

Rachael Ray steps up the seasoning in this version, although smoky paprika is still the star.   https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/smoky-spanish-hunters-chicken-recipe-2200932

And one last version that uses some bacon and chorizo. This one uses chicken thighs, but you can easily substitute chicken breasts if you prefer them.    https://winewithfood.org/2021/01/06/smoky-spanish-chicken/

Good morning, thanks for the Daily!  We haven't gone caroling in many years, but remember what fun we did have going through the neighbourhood.  Like @grapau27, many jugs of sangria have been enjoyed during our time spent in Spain.  Not a lot of time for games today, perhaps after Christmas with the grands.

Well I officially finished the Christmas baking yesterday, cleaned everything up, and packed cookies, slices, crack, nuts & bolts away to take with us to Calgary (leaving a little bit of everything for us to enjoy when we return).  Today is a day to get my nails done, pick up a few last minute things at the mall, and get the house ready for our departure.  Speaking of shopping:

Like the rest of you, I was so pleased to see Jacqui's post yesterday. Hopefully each day will bring more progress for Jose's recovery.

I like today's menu suggestion, but we're still eating out of the fridge to clean it out before we leave, so I know tonight will be leftover stew and buns for dinner.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do.  Extra prayers for Jacqui, Jose, his medical team, and for those who have experienced loss at this time of year.  We'll raise the wine glasses tonight to cheer those on the celebration list.  Stay safe, wash your hands, wear your masks, get your boosters, stay well and keep warm!

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Yes, I am on my phone again. And my visitors are still here, but they head back to Massachusetts this morning. It has been so much fun. Lots of laughs and great memory making.

Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers for all who are celebrating. Stay well everyone.

*******
Pine Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon

I chose the 2018 vintage of this wine, since it might be the easiest to find. Numerous online distributors with prices starting at $42.95.

Winemaker Notes

A dark ruby wine with inviting aromas of cinnamon, blueberry, blackberry, vanilla, and cedar. A juicy mid-palate shows flavors of cherry and layers of texture. The natural sweetness of the fruit balances the bright acidity and follows through to the lingering coffee and vanilla cream-laced finish.

RP93
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A barrel-sample blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is very deep garnet-purple in color with vibrant wild blueberries, blackberries and boysenberries with red and black currants, bay leaves, lavender and cedar chest. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is vibrant and refreshing with a firm, grainy frame and lively finish.
Barrel Sample: 91-93

Good morning everyone. It looks like two of my grandsons have been exposed to Corona virus. One, when he was celebrating the end of finals at college the night before he boarded a train for home. He has been isolating in the basement of his home which he is more than fine with because he has made it into his man cave a while ago. His brother, received word that someone on his school bus tested positive. That child was wearing a mask and my grandson was wearing an N95 mask so we have our fingers crossed.

I can not believe it’s a balmy 23 degrees right now. If I haven’t mentioned it before, I hate winter.

Sam continues to make progress in some areas, but has much work to do. We’re praying that he continues to improve.

Prayers for those who need them and especially for Jacqui, Jose, and himself.

Stay safe everyone,

Carol

Good morning Daily-ites.  @dfish those pictures look amazing, and since I need to get out of my rut with cooking, I think I will do one of those on my days off.  Yes even telemarketers get a day off.  In fact the bosses are giving us two four day weekends in a row!  If your phone rings, it wont be me.

We were going to go with our cruise friends to our favorite Chinese restaurant for Christmas. I called the restaurant yesterday just to make sure they will be open.  They said yes, but take out only.  So we decided to meet up at a small - #10 of Chinese restaurant chains, very informal.  My DH was amazed that our friends would travel 30 miles north just to do mediocre Chinese food, but isn't that what Christmas is all about?  Being with friends?   Funny thing is, restaurant #3 is their go to place near them.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day, that you stay safe, wear your mask!

Good morning friends!  It was 43F with a little breeze this morning at 6:30 but we bundled up and walked several miles through our neighborhood for a little exercise.  We are making lists of things needed to take to DD's house to help with the cooking Christmas weekend and will go shopping later today.  The chicken dishes looked yummy Debbie @dfish.  Thanks for your work on presenting them to us each day.  Big thanks to Rich @richwmnfor the Daily and happy travels to him.  Roy @rafinmdthanks for the Care and Celebration lists.  Many prayers and good thoughts go out to our Jacqui @kazuand Jose, to Father @Himselfand to Roy as he completes his course of radiation treatments.  When do you finish up completely Roy?  Will they skip a day or two at Christmas?  Good luck this morning @1ANGELCAT!  And finally, prayers for niece Amy's DH who has throat cancer and has surgery today.  I hope it all goes well.  After that they said chemo and radiation so it must be pretty bad.  A sad Christmas for her and the family.🙏

Our days to celebrate are pretty nice on this date.  Caroling is always fun, even for those who can't carry a tune.  I remember going caroling with neighborhood kids as a child.  Sangria is enjoyable, especially at the holidays.  It looks so festive!  And games are great and even more so when families gather at the holidays.

I can't believe it!  Two ports in a row I've been to!  December has been dismal for my YES list on ports.  Only 5 yesses in 20 days!   I told DH we have a lot of places we have to see still, as he rolled his eyes at me.🙄  I will post this and return with some photos of Falmouth which we reached on our final Prinsendam voyage in 2019.😪

Good morning  to all.Things have been  beyond hectic here and then the CC gremlins struck until yesterday  afternoon.I was happy to hear of José 's improvement,no matter how small and hope for continued  steps in the right direction.

We have been to the port and enjoyed cream tea in a small shop.My pictures are on my laptop  which CC seems to dislike.

The news Tana received  from the specialist was guarded  at best. She is having a difficult  time both physically  and psychologically. We are doing our best and hope she will benefit from counseling. It is very  difficult  to get an appointment  with any mental health  practitioner  in our area.Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the Daily and all contributors.

@richwmn enjoy your cruise!

Terry

Good Morning from a very warm day at the beach

It is already 82 degrees!   Today we will have the pork I was going to cook yesterday. We went boating instead. We saw the biggest dolphin I have ever seen. It was huge and made big waves when it surfaced. Beautiful sight!

Have not been to todays port. Seems I say that a lot!

Not much going on here today after water aerobics.

Stay safe and enjoy today
