Good morning and thanks all! We’ve visited Tangiers in the land before digital so am appreciating the posts of photos from @Vict0riann and @bdrcole giggling about the bartering, DH had a very cool camera strap that had maple leaves on it, and was approached to barter.  Someone offered him a camel for me,   And he thought I was worth two since I was pregnant,   Needless to say I was Not impressed.   In the seventies it was no joke!

@rafinmd I know it is hard with so much going on for everyone but I agree that trimming the care list where you can is a good idea.  Just a thought but perhaps more minor concerns can be mentioned fewer times?

@kazuSending continued prayers for Jacqui and Jose.  I will try and honour her teaching around multiquoting, I notice some of us are slipping, lol!

Would be good to hear from the father,   Prayers to all who need them.

@mamaofamihope you fail the test, glad you were wearing a good mask, although I can’t understand why all professionals are not.

@Rowsby I am grateful for that extra ten seconds, lol!  Why does it get dark so much faster than it gets light?

stay safe and wear a good mask!

I just received a phone call from my cardiologist. The woman who did my echocardiogram has tested positive for Covid. Thankfully I was wearing a real N95 mask the whole time. She was not but she was less that 6 feet away from me. My daughter has the rapid tests and I will take one late Sunday. Prayers please that I don’t get it.

 Carol

Carol, prayers winging their way. And adding prayers that you & your ENTIRE family catch a break.

Good morning, Dailyites!  It is supposed to be snowing here, but instead we have a blue sky and some sun peeking through a few clouds.  I think that means it's going to be cold, though.  Pat has been bringing in the hummingbird feeders at night, and then getting up early to take them out in the morning.  The birds are usually waiting for him and buzz right down to the feeders, and then they squabble over them all day.  They should be heading south, but are willing to stay with us al winter as people continue to feed them.

Praying today for all those suffering at this time of year, @kazu, Jacqui and Jose,  Father @Himself, everyone on the Care List, Walter, and of course @grapau27, tomorrow!  Good luck with your surgery.

We went to Tangier in 2014 on the Maasdam's Atlantic Adventurer, Tangier on the way to the Med and Marrakech on the way back to Fort Lauderdale.  A lot of my pictures are very like @bdrcole's.  We had a walking tour with a guide from TBL I think.   We had a very fancy lunch at the Marhaba Palace (Marhaba means "hello") ...  But first we had a drive to a lookout where, on a clear day, you could see Gibraltar .  We didn't, but there were souvenirs to buy, of course.

Back in town we went to a church where British airmen from WW2 were buried.

Then a walking tour of the Casbah.  We would have been completely lost without our guide!

A very late good morning from windy, but warm (72F) Quartzsite.  It will cool down tonight, with rain starting late and continuing into tomorrow.  We just hope it ends before DD and DSIL reach the part of Arizona where rain is predicted.

It has been a busy morning.  The pie shells for the chocolate pies are baked and the pecan pies are in the oven.  When they are done, we have a quick (hopefully) errand in Blythe.  When I have a chance, I'll read the Daily and add some comments.

DH just read on another HAL thread that the Koningsdam was not allowed to disembark passengers in Puerto Vallarta today.  A few were allowed off early, but then told to return to the ship.  The comments from passengers on the ship say a few crew members tested positive and the Mexican authorities would not let anyone from the ship enter the country.  Someone else said there were 50 cases, and maybe even some passengers were positive.  As with any developing situation, the information is partly true and partly hearsay and speculation.  I just hope this doesn't turn into a situation like those in 2020.

Good afternoon everyone.  Dropping in before I take the dogs for their walk in this miserably cold weather.  They definitely need their coats today 😱

Normally I would postpone but it is going to be even worse tomorrow and I fear it will be too risky to take them tomorrow so we will have a quick one today to alleviate risk.  I’m going to need something to warm up after.

@mamaofami I am so sorry to hear of your exposure to covid.  Thank heavens you were waring the proper mask.  Prayers that you are safe 🙏🏻

@grapau27good luck with your procedure tomorrow 🙏🏻

I wish I could say I have good news but I don’t.  It takes time to grow these cultures from the Lumbar Puncture - especially for what the specialists are looking for 😔 Jose seems worse to me but it’s probably the worry in me affecting that.  Running to the hospital has been hard and tiring but when we ever celebrate Christmas, I have decided ….

Hopefully the wifi in the hospital is better tomorrow and, depending on Jose I can post.  For the last 3 days it’s been either non existent or drops in one minute after taking 1/2 hour to connect.

Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Thank you so much Jacqui for your post and keeping us up to date.  You are certainly in our daily prayers.  We know how hard it is to go through something like this.  While I can’t be there physically, I am sending support your way by means of prayer.

Stay strong.

I hope all of you have most of your holiday prep done and can relax and catch a breath today.  I am all packed and ready to jump in the car and head to Michigan.  I'll spend a couple days in Midland with my sister, Mary Jo, and then on to Elk Rapids to spend a few days with my sister, Barb.   Sue will join me in Midland, but she has to work next week so won't make it up to Barb's.

Safe travels and thanks for the recipes. 🙂

Well the appliance curse continues, the microwave bit the dust on Tuesday, found a new one at Home Depot , at least it didn’t die on the holiday, had that happen years ago on Thanksgiving.

Tomorrow morning we will be out the door, in the car (the SUV we now call the Big Rig) and on our way to Ohio by 5 am.  Even then the Atlanta traffic will be crazy at an early hour.  Chef DH has been gathering his groceries, kitchen appliances and implements he needs to do his job, so the Big Rig will be fully loaded.😂

Safe travels to you also. 🙂

Made an early run to the grocery store and I might be good for a month.  The ran an old fashioned blue light special on Christmas candy, buy one get one.  I may have overstocked on chocolate, if that’s even possible.

Nope, not possible. 😃

We made final payment yesterday for our Pacific Coast cruises in March and April!  It will be 35 months between when we stepped off Prinsendam in 2019 and we step on Koningsdam in 2022.  After 7 cancellations, we have fingers, toes, and eyes crossed that this one actually happens!!  🤞

My fingers are crossed for you, too! 🤞😉

My friend in hospice is getting a hospital bed today and he’s too weak to walk so it won’t be too long now. We have spent every New Years Eve with them for 55 years. Even in Florida we would zoom or talk before and after midnight. The other couple we did this with have died so this New Years Eve is going to be very sad.

No, I had the same thought. Here all personnel in medical facilities, doctors' offices and labs are masked.

I was thinking the same thing as well but couldn't be sure if the tech was maskless or if it wasn't an N95.  I see lots of medical personnel in surgical masks.

Yes, after I posted my indignation I went back and re-read her post.  It could be (hopefully) that she was wearing a mask after all, just not an N95.
