RCCL is making fun of us us Aussies - surely !

How long is your cruise? We are on the transpacific and it is just over $100 AUD per person per day. Even Chops is almost $100, it is nice but worth that? And then you have the room prices that are going up and down every day. A junior suite is around $11,000 (for 2 people) more than a balcony on Ovation, crazy stuff for a room with very little perks. They aren't going to get too many takers at those prices.

That’s about $85.00 US. I think it’s very high, but others have posted they still think it’s worth it. The one and only time we bought the DP was on a TP in 2017. It was $48.00 and I thought that was high. 😁

I thought $18 was high *.  😜

* At the time of the "mistake", they had diamond breakfast with free specialty coffee and diamond happy hour with unlimited drinks.

Just off the Adventure a couple of weeks ago and they were running out of beer and liquor.  Hendricks Gin, Jack Daniels, Port Wine, Belvedere Vodka, Guinness, just to name a few brands that were nowhere to be found on board.  If I had purchased the UDP, I would have asked for my money back.  I see a surge in Run Runners being purchased. LOL

If people quit buying it, they'll rethink their pricing.  But, that won't happen.  We've never bought it because in any type of calculation I can think of, it's never a good or even mediocre deal and we're in the US.  BTW, as of today, that's $85 in US dollars and is similar to what I've seen posted.  Royal offers the pkg because it makes them money, not to save you money.

Pricing is CRAZY.  Royal inflates a price and then makes up a sale!

I don't purchase the drink package and don't pay much attention to the pricing but the prices showing on this thread are HIGH.

RCCL extra pricing is ridiculous.  We just paid over $80 pp to use our BOGO at chops.  Don't think we'll do that again.  Coco Beach club is well over $225 PER PERSON for the day.  Cabanas are $3,500 for the day.  My weeklong cruise for 2 in a balcony cabin was less than that!

People too often get addicted to the drink packages. You don't need a drink package to drink.

I was really torn on the package. Wife and I drink pretty solidly on vacation. I sat down and wrote out what we would reasonably drink plus the port days plus CoCo Cay and determined if the price ever went under $65 pp/per day then we would be getting our money's worth without needing to commit to getting absolutely hammered. So when it was at $60.99 I got it.

There's also some peace of mind attached that I don't have to worry about calculating how much we've spent on the cruise based on what we felt was "worth it" for a drink package, so as long as we get in the "ballpark" of what we spent for the drink package, I'm fine with that.
