MrsKC08 Posted December 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2016 We've got a year until our Silhouette cruise, but now that our recent Harmony of the Seas cruise is over, it's time to start planning for this one. I have never sailed on Celebrity before and although my DH has sailed on Celebrity before, it has been many many years and it wasn't an S class ship. I've been searching these boards but it seems like finding information about menus and shows, entertainment and other things about this ship can be hard to find. I want to know anything and everything I can to be as prepared as I can be. I've already started researching the ports and excursions, but the ship is what I'm excited to hear and learn about! jelayne Posted December 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2016 Celebrity 's website is a good place to start. You can look at the deck plans, see the restaurants and some menus, see cabin layouts, find out about the spa, bars, casino, tipping, dress code, beverage packages, excursions , etc. Once you get a general idea of the ship & Celebrity then I am sure many of us would be happy to answer questions. You can search and find many more. Here are a couple Part 1 Part 2 Well that was quite interesting, thank you! We are also taking our first S class cruise in January (after more M-class cruises than we can count) so that video was quite helpful. And I did find out something new that I had not read about before - the second, smaller theater, I believe it was called Celebrity Central - where they have comedy shows and such. Are those usually late night or do they run concurrently in the evenings with the shows in the main theater? I can't wait to go...the jury is still out how we'll like it compared to the M-class, but I'm looking forward to the adventure.
jelayne Posted December 9, 2016 #9 Share Posted December 9, 2016 There are not a lot of comedy show with actual comedians. The most comedians I have seen on a Celebrity cruise was 2 on a 18 night cruise. When there are late night shows in Celebrity Central they start at 10:30. Often game type shows hosted by the cruise director and include some officers. Main shows in the Theater are generally at 7 & 9.

Rare Miaminice Posted December 9, 2016 #13 Share Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) As others have mentioned before Silhouette is a fabulous ship. She is our favorite and the cruise we did on her is among our personal top 3. Here is a review filled with loads of pictures and information- especially on embarcation day and sea day pages. http://www.travellove.one/Our-Trips/Holy-Land-Cruise-01/holy-land-cruise-01.html Don't miss Lawn Club Grille on a nice evening and Sunset Bar for unforgettable sail aways. Enjoy!!! Edited December 9, 2016 by Miaminice
Goodtime Cruizin Posted December 20, 2016 #14 Share Posted December 20, 2016 Thank you everyone for all of the info & review links. I have some reserch to do now! We're debating a Baltic 2018 cruise.
Mr. Click Posted December 20, 2016 #15 Share Posted December 20, 2016 In additon to what the others have said, don't miss the Mast Grill. Nice burgers etc, made fresh for you with no up charges. We have done two 12 night cruises in Europe on her and it was really great. No way to know if Captain Dimitri will still be running the show but he did for both of our cruises and he is top notch and it filters all the way down to the rest of the crew. For awhile they had a late night comedy act in there that was shall we say a bit raunchy. They use it as a movie theater and often when there is a sports event they have used it for the sport event. On our Transatlantic on Silhouette it was used mostly for Movies - 3-4 times a day. It was also used by Future cruises for a couple presentations, Bingo, Spa Presentations, Religious Services and a couple game competition. There weren't any comedy acts at all. MrsKC08 Posted December 20, 2016 Author #17 Share Posted December 20, 2016 I was the original poster and I want to thank you all for your input. It is so greatly appreciated. We will be sailing the Oasis in May before this Silhouette cruise, but having this information is so valuable for me. Can't wait to try the Mast Grill. grandgeezer Posted December 20, 2016 #19 Share Posted December 20, 2016 We just got off the Silhouette Sunday, after doing our second B2B, on her this year. The first one was in April. right after Celebrity starting producing their own production shows. We went to all three the first week and skipped them the second week. This time we went to the first one, hoping their improved but sadly not. We never went back. This is strictly our opinion so take it with a grain of salt. The ship was beautiful and spotless and the crew were great. This second adventure we were in Aqua so we ate in Blu. We found the food quality and service greatly out shined the main dining room. Rare countess5 Posted December 20, 2016 #20 Share Posted December 20, 2016 Martini Bar!!!!! :D Bartender "I Made" yes that is his name, as it was spelt on the name tag. Learned there is an "I Made" on the Equinox too! ;)
TeaBag Posted December 20, 2016 #21 Share Posted December 20, 2016 Not many know about the Hideaway located on deck 7. You can get coffee here always and there are many lovely comfortable places to sit. We had #7260 (1A) which is located just outside this area. Here is an excerpt describing it: Opposite the tree, The Hideaway was designed to be like a tree house for adults, a place to go where you really want to get away from it all. There’s super-comfortable seating for just 30 people, plus two raised “nests” for the lucky guests who get there first. I second the Lawn club Grill. Silhouette is our favorite ship. ClaudiaB Posted December 20, 2016 #22 Share Posted December 20, 2016 I always tell new cruisers to a line to not try and learn everything about the ship. Allow yourself the chance to experience that "oooooh" and "aaaaaah" as you come aboard a new-to-you ship and make discoveries around every corner. Have a great cruise! I'm taking my own advice and on my Azamara cruise I'm not going to try and learn it all, either. As a first-timer on Journey I want to leave some surprises. karena1 Posted December 20, 2016 #25 Share Posted December 20, 2016 Great ship! Great crew! That's all you need to know.Just experience and enjoy. Ditto! We loved that ship, it was absolutely gorgeous. Hubby thought it had the best food he has ever had on a cruise. Shows were awesome, staff was fantastic. Loved that they had a coffee bar/regular bar right as you walked into the buffet in the morning. Hubby would get his coffee and I got my mimosa! There was not one thing we did not like about that ship. We have plans to do 2 more Soltice Class ships just b/c we loved it so much. You will so enjoy it!
