Zaandam and Rotterdam Situation (merged topics starting March 22, 2020)

Thank you for sharing these details, makes it more real to us all.  That sounds very serious, and doubly sad because they will likely be separated when they get off the ship as one or both of them get hospitalized.  Prayers that they recover through whatever interventions are available.  Blessings to all involved!   m--

Most of us have been praying for this to end since Zaandam was in the Pacific. Everything else is just discussion while we anticipate an ending to all this soon. Relax. All the side conversations are just a way of staying tuned in while we wait.

That fiasco was one of the most sickening and disgusting PREVENTABLE tragedies during WWII. However, I don't think it's an apt comparison. The USA was not on lockdown due to a deadly virus then and, since I visited a Holocaust museum in Florida in February during which the tour guide specifically talked about the St Louis episode,  I don't recall him saying that the people aboard were in danger of killing anyone with a pandemic. (sorry, this is a bit off topic)

The long nightmare for the two ships is almost over....and the beginning of the end of the nightmare for the passengers.

 

We wish them all well. This has been awful in so many ways.
